His Imperial Majesty King Royce I today officially witnessed the Trooping Of The Colours for the newly formed Imperial Foreign Legion.
“We have a very loyal, excellent quality, and dedicated body of Imperial Troops” His Majesty announced after the ceremony, “But sometimes we need Troops who can be deployed in sensitive areas, who can undertake special tasks, and generally give our enemies a run for their money, so to speak. Hence, the formation of the Imperial Foreign Legion.”
Commander Sword took over proceedings at this point to give us a breakdown of the Foreign Legion and what they’d do.
“Imperial Legionnaires will be armed with the standard issue SMLE Mk III* and bayonet, as well as a sidearm and the usual number of LMGs per company. More importantly, any individual can join up in the Imperial Foreign Legion, regardless of nationality. After a 3 year Tour Of Duty, they will be eligible for Roycelandian Citizenship. No questions will be asked of their past, and their loyalties will lie with Roycelandia and the Legion. Initial operations in hostile environments have been extremely encouraging and we look forward to welcoming new Legionnaires in the immediate future.”
