Military Build Up

21-12-2003, 10:02
Recently in a strange move the Theocracy of Erciyes has began a large military build up. After moving to its new current location from the South Pacific it seems to want to consolidate the region along with Chancellory. When the High Priests which make up the Council of Ravens were asked upon this they did not want to comment. However, the Lord of the Council, Lord Priest Addadshumausur replied "The Most Revered has deemed it so, we shall send assessts into a military build up. Foreign advisors and trainers are welcome, however courtesy must be shown to our traditions. The Most Revered has deemed that we shall emerge into the International Stage at the same level of most others economically, socially, politically, and militaristically if need be." After that Lord Priest Addadshumausur bowed his head and sat back. The Most Revered is the enigmatic and mysterious ruler of Erciyes, chosing not to make many public appearances, however his High Council, and the Lord of the Council meet every third day to discuss issues, and they issue the statements.

The military build up seems to be largely in secret, behind the scences with Corporation leaders, and the Council talking to various diffrent arms manufacturers.

More to come of this issue, we will keep you updated.

In response to requests, the press corps of the nation of Chancellory was able to secure responses to the new regional mobilization. Supposedly, Chancellory's newly-retrofitted Infantry and Armored Divisions have shared their new technological advances with the Erciyes government, and together the two have begun to pool their resources in fortifying the darkened lands of East of Nod. While sketchy, initial reports list the fortifications to mostly be in the form of stone garrisons, complete with new CRA (Chancellory Royal Arms) Heavy-action machine gun nests and model x97 CRA railgun platforms. The sensors for these facilities are powered by arcane means, supposedly a joint communion of Chancellorian and Ericyian technology.

While the region is lacking in major water resources, save the River Styx, which divides the dark and tenebrous land in two, Chancellory has begun to forge a new naval force, consisting of classified anti-sensor destroyers, and low-depths submarines. No information on both of these forces can be found, but investigation of the design plans of these vehicles point to a fusion of other companies and countries, namely ex-Soviet and US. There seems to be no current air force.

The joint Chancellorian-Erciyian Army, via private investments and supplementation to their strategic base, has contracted and succesfully created their airforce balancing on a long-range fighter base. Designs for such aircraft are being withheld within Chancellorian royal acadamies, but the press corps of Chancellory has been fortunate enough to release some information pertinant to international appeasement:

The completed Chancellorian ground force is as follows....

SiG 552-Q Assault Rifle (General Infantry and Navy Issue)

Sporting a gas-blowback system, and three modes of fire, the SiG 554 is the product of over twenty years of research in the study of full-automatic rifles. The Q is a new model for the Chancellorian military, sporting an extended clip and a new .223 flachette round, which detonates after impacting and impaling itself within the target, thus causing more damage.

CRA A57 Assault Rifle (Special Forces)

The HK heavy assault system was invented originally for the US military, but through successful counter-intelligence, and corporate manipulation, the plans for such a weapon system were secured, and reproduced within Chancellorian borders. Like it's predecessor, the 57 features an underslung grenade launcher, 5.56 NATO rounds, and the red-dot scope. However, unlike the HK version, the A57 features a built-in silencer and tac-grip.

CRA Firedragon Multi-purpose Anti-Armor

This weapon's familiarity with the common man is well known, for it, despite its new zoom-scope and higher ordinance missile, has remained relatively unchanged in the last twenty-five years.

CRA Heavy Machine Gun

Based off of the US military's Squad Automatic Weapon, the CRA features a blazing 400 rounds / minute output ratio, using the heavy 5.2 NATO armor-piercing rounds. With the addition of the new automatic range-finder and computerized targetting system, the efficiency of such a weapon has increased exponentially.]
