Medieval Warfare RP

Well, my friend Penguisiana (sp?) posted one earlier but it didn't attract too much attention...so I'm re-posting for him. I'm not going to be in it due to time constraints, but he will be Japan...in this RP, you are the leader of a kingdom or state in the year 1000AD. Your role is to use diplomacy and warfare to acheive supremacy.

This has been tried before by Sethesh and turned out to be quite interesting :)

Basically, what happens is you start off with three castles and 2000 military population slots, you can use them for whatever you want. Nations that have a border with the sea also get 50 ships.

Each day you receive an additional 75 slots. For every nation this is the same, so you must find ways of increasing your population income: whether it be warfare or trade. Spending out of this income, you can create cavalry (2), siege (5), ships(20), or any foot unit(1) to increase your army. Once you get your income up, you can also construct new castles, setting up a formidable obstacle in the way of any invading army.

Many nations are available, but I'd recommend nations with sea borders, with the exception of Mongolia.

Byzantium, the Holy Roman Empire, Poland, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, China, Japan, Russia, the Vikings, Mongolia, the Saracen Sultanate, and the Alohamad Caliphate are the most recognized examples. Mongolia, to compensate for no sea border, gets to produce cavalry cheaper.

This is an open RP. All are invited. Ideally around 10-15 people will sign up and the RP will occur off-site.

Well, Mongolia and the Muslims are planning an invasion of Europe, Japan, who has been expanding at a rate that would make the Big Bang inflation jealous, is Europe's ally, and everyone is PO'd at Sweden, as usual. :)

Let's see...Japan took China peacefully, then mass raided Vietnam and I think Korea. Invading Manchuria and Vietnam, got like 30 raids through in three days.

Yes, we are acknowledging their existence. Making raids or invading them, you expect to take losses. I suppose Japan will decide some cities where they have their fortresses...but they will be considerably weaker, and have no dossier. You can invade the Lithuanian lands.

NOTE: Eriesland and the Belgian territories of Lower Lorraine are NOT in control of HRE yet, but if anyone else but them go in and attack, they have a right to be VERY po'd.

Califate of Cordova would be the Alohamad Caliphate, that's what they called it on the other forum. Saracens are elsewhere, dunno why.

Let me get this right.....I'm just looking through the map here.....is the Dominion of the Fatimates part of Cordova? Or is it a vassal state? Or neither? The pink line around its borders makes it look like it belongs to Cordova, yet it is not all pink....

No, the Dominion of the Fatimates would be the people below. I think African groups like Ghana were down there...

Oh right. The pink tint made me think that they were associated in some way with the Cordovans....

There's the Saracens, they control that area, I believe. And they were an incredibly powerful force, resisting the Christian crusades very well... :D

Well, I can't remember any case of monks in china fighting...sure there was Lu Zhi Shen but he was kinda one-out...The Templar would be very much at the bidding of the Pope, if they step outta line...Teuton order isn't avail because HRE gets Teutonic Knights...well I guess you can take the Templar or the Hospitallers...but I dont know about Shaolin monastery.

Why would you want to be Mongolia AD 1000? They didnt make an empire till Genghis Khan arrived around 1180 AD.

No, we've been playing too much of Sethesh's original Medieval RP. I personally have never played MTW, though I've heard of it...Spanish would be Cordova, it's taken...Hungary has no sea borders and is unavailable...Papacy is in charge of a mod (me)...Russia's avail...for the sake of the game, Mongolia has a Khan and is hell bent on conquering the world already, Asia'd be a pretty boring place without them :)

Turks...I think the Byzantines have that, taken...Sicily is in control of Cordova...Aragonese??? ... as in Navarre?
