MiG's for sale

20-12-2003, 18:25
Greetings! Upon updating my country's air force we were left with 5,000 relatively new (1990) MiG's. Note that some of these planes were never used. The MiG's are on sale for $50,000 a piece.

For $50,000 may be a bit cheap. What version of Mig are they? 29?

If they are the newer MiG-29s and cost 50 thou, I would like to purchase 2000 for $1 billion. Money wired on confirmation.

You may sell them for a higher price, and could we see some information about these planes, it's hard to decide if they are valuable or not if you don't know anything about planes

:) What's an m8s nation?

 Edit: Nevermind, nevermind ... hehe ... I thought it was a specialized term or something til I read it out loud.

It is a MiG 29. They are being sold at the reasonable price of $50,000 simply because we want to make room for our new f-16's.
20-12-2003, 18:46
All orders have been confirmed. As of now all of the MiG's are gone, thank you for your business.

The Closest Mig-29 to the 90's I found...

Mig-29M

"Miyokan began work on advanced MiG-29 variants during the late 1970s, concentrating on improving the range and the multi-role capability of their highly successful lightweight fighter. The MiG-29M, under test since 1986, has an analog fly-by-wire control system in place of the original electro-mechanical system, a semi-'glass' cockpit with a more advanced HUD and two multi-function digital HDDs, extended chord tailplane, and a recontoured dorsal fairing...."

All this is from a book I have. Roles are fighter/tactical strike, it has STOL capability, I believe, flies in all weathers and can land on rough fields, airspeed is over Mach1, and it has a wide variety of weapons, including nuclear-capable.

Very nice plane. EDIT: ok, I saw your last post.

[OOC]
The first one looks like it's from a computer game...is it?
:)

No, I did a google search for all of them, the first is from Mach 3 Graphics, they do computer generated images...well, may be from a game, but don't think so.

This just in, the republic of rebeland has 10,000 more MiG29's this time they are only $48,000. Limit 300 planes a country.
20-12-2003, 22:00
Its absolutely true, as my neighbor said, more MiG's!
The Zoogie People
20-12-2003, 22:01
If this is true, and Rebeland confirms, I will purchase 300 more MiG-29M's. for $14.4 million.

Ok, #1 you are two days old.. how could you have so many migs? And then sell them at such cheap prices to replace with new F-16s?... something smells fishy

How exactly can you be selling off old equipment when you are a new nation? :P

Dunno, the first 5.000 were reasonable though if your on the 1 NS day = 1 RL day, but after that...

OK guys, this nation is 2 days (or 2 years) old. He could not possibly afford 5000 migs, let alone be able to sell them at 1/100th of their value...

F-16s to replace MiG-29s!?! Are you crazy!?!No kidding, the Mig 29 was a Russian version of an F-16, only done better.

How can he possibly sell 5000 of them at 1/100th of their cost? How could he even afford 5000? Why would he need 5000? Why would he replace them after 2 days?

The only reason, American fighters win is that the Soviet fighter pilots barely get any chance to fly...
20-12-2003, 23:19
I got a lot of the old soviet planes off of the black market for dirt cheap (some were gifts). We used the planes until our economy got off the ground, then we decided to get rid of them (we only have so many runways) and clear room for our new planes.
The Segovene
20-12-2003, 23:33
It should be noted that MiG-29s have never once scored an air-to-air kill against another aircraft (in real life). In an Su-37 vs MiG-29 confrontation in Africa, the Su-27s splashed the MiG-29s. In the Bosnia conflict, the Yugoslavs (I believe) used MiG-29s and once again never got any kills against Coalition forces... in fact, all that went up mostly came back down -- hard.
Even Iraq had/has MiG-29s, and they have never taken out any aircraft.

This is not to say they have never tagged any land based targets. In fact, some MiG-29s were able to destroy two land targets in it's entire time since it was in service.

The odds don't look good for this plane, even though it is better than the F-15 Eagle in several areas, including maneuverability.

If you don't believe me, do the research yourself. I just happen to have a big fat book on fighters.

Oh and note if these are ever used against me we have a quite "easy" way of destroying them.

Why the heck would you sell MiG's anyway, they are way out of date, even the Iraqi's use them. Sell SU-37s which have thrust vectoring and all that, and are way faster than MiG's.
20-12-2003, 23:48
Sure, a convoy will go, and we won't use them against you in war.
