A.I. Defence Initative

*the press room*

Good Evening,

New Izumi would like to announce a new front lines defence inititive, using A.I. technology as a way to greatly reduce casualties. This, by any means, does not mean that human resources to the defence department will be de-commissioned. This AI tech it to be implemented in some Tanks, Planes etc. and will be able to self sustain the usual systems a human normally would, without necessarily contact with HQ. A method has already been created preventing any affect on common jamming usually has on electronics.

To do this, though we have enough funding availible , we invite peaceful, democratic nations to participate by funding, with when the project is completed, the advantage of having free access to that tech.

Press: How will we choose nations that can participate?

Good question. That is determined by the defence department. I'm sorry, were out of time no further inquiries.

<-Message from the Office of Commander in Chief Alexander Reign->

Funding for you system seems well recieved, my friend. I shall transmit you 1,000,000 credits to whichever system of currency you have. Hopefully this new system will lower civilian casulties to near to none.

There better damn well still be a human in the loop somewhere. Preferable with his finger on the off switch. Damn ignorant techies and their AIs.....*gumble grumble grumble*

low level PR rep after an official press release.

Of course, there will ALWAYS be humans in the equation in New Izumi. We are only looking to suppliment existing forces. How other parties use it is up to them and their departments.

I must confess a little confusion at your plans.

Are AI's to replace humans on a 1:1 ratio? Ie: an AI for each plane, tank, etc. or would they be coordinating several vehicles via remote? If the later, how would that reduce communications? If the former, aren't you simply sacrificing AI's in place of humans?

I can't say as I care for that.

It would be a 1:1 ratio - One A.I. per unit. This would only be done in a small number of front line units. This is part of our defence strategy.

The Units are now ready and availible for pickup. Offers for this tech will also be accepted at this time. This tech will also be made availible, free to all NNA members.

Central Facehuggeria urges New Izumi to be wary of creating AI controled weapon systems. Now, non-sentient automated weapons are perfectly fine and reliable. But if there are sentient (so called "Thinking Machines") there would be a signifigant risk of the AI deciding that humans are "obsolete"

Two humanoid war machines stand together...

TXM250, Mekantan AI officer, growls. "And WHAT, might I inquire, is the problem with AIs? We're certainly more efficient than biologicals!"

MTG144, a much nicer AI officer, slaps his collegue upside the head. "What TXM250 means, is that we would be happy to lend our extensive, all consuming knowlage of AI systems to your cause. We, too, have been working on similar systems-"

"Free from the blunders of biologicals!"

MTG144 glares at TXM250. "Are you quite finished? Regardless, if there is anything you wish, in regards to AI assistance, do not hesitate to ask."

"Keep 'em locked in their tubes where they belong!"

"Shut up, TXM250!"

Err...thanks for your offer. As it stands, we do not intend on replacing humans, merely supplementing them under goverment controlled paramaters.

I will grant you 40 million credits, as long as after you are done, you give them back to me for my plasma research

No funding is currently needed at this stage: Yes I have seen the movie and that won't be an issue.
