*There is tonight a Quarkan Christmas party, for the most important and high-ranking governmental, ambassador, as well as corporate figures. In addition, all citizens who received the Citizen Medal of Honorable Duty are in attendance. Several high-ranking religious figures can be seen in comfortable garb, sitting off to the side at several designated tables. In all, there are 247 tables, and including John Quantas and the dinner speakers(who are all guests also), there are 2,104 attendants in the Grand Auditorium at the Quarkan National Senate Building. It is now 6:57 PM, December the 18th, 2003. Some light talking amongst the guests, and the president of Quarka gets up from the front row and starts walking to the podium. John Quantas goes up to the stage, and starts to speak*
This is a wonderful day indeed! So happy we all are to be here, a mere 6 days until Christ's birthday, and we are so happy to be able to celebrate our lives and Him! So we now begin. You do not need to check your watches, it is 7 PM, we are very much on-time, and the festivities will begin promptly. For two hours or so now you will enjoy a 5 course dinner hosted by the wonderful chef Rafael Machenna, we all thank him, and enjoy entertaining speakers and comedians!
I promise you all we will be out of here by midnight.
*some laughter in the back*

*the entire room breaks out in laughter*

*He walks down off the stage, and sits at his table. A man in a large brown overcoat gets up from his same table, and goes up to the stage. He, as it turns out, is the president of Quarka's new sister-country, Revelation Falls, Bernhard Sarmer, a burly, bearded man who is much more rough looking than the clean-shaven Quantas. He begins to speak about the state of the union of his country, and then begins telling a story about him, a rabbi, and a priest. It is relatively funny, and just after he finishes, the auditorium erupts in unbridled laughter. At the same moment, a large noise like a hunting rifle is heard somewhere in the back of the stage. A few clowns come out, and laughing happily, run towards Sarmer. Standing on either side of him as he falls backwards, seemingly to the crowd from laughter, their smiles grow to frowns, and they begin to pull drawstrings from their side pockets as they are both shot in the head by guards positioned as protective snipers near the ceiling of the auditorium. The entire room erupts in collective panic, and Quants rushes to the stage, and says "It's alright, folks, it's just another bombing attempt."
*He pauses for a second and looks at the large man on the ground, who now has blood coming out of his chest.*
"My God! Bernhard! He's been shot! En guarde, attendants, watch yourselves! Bernhard can you hear me! Medics get here damnit!"
*He runs to the back of the stage, and is seen turning to the side and pulling out a pistol, firing several times before himself being shot in the shoulder, and clutching it, he stumbles back out to the stage, mutters the statement "Carpe diem, que sera", as he falls into a chair at the back of the stage reserved for entertainment, passing out from the sudden loss of blood.
Medics run onto the stage, no fewer than 10, and guards from the back of the room have by this time made their way all the way across the 150-meter long auditorium and to the stage, where they are furiously going about securing the area.
An unidentified close aide to Quantas comes up on stage and yells "the party is OVER!" as Bernhard Sarmer is carried out on a stretcher.
Later that night, Bernhard Sarmer is declared dead from lung and heart damage, and the fate of the new spin-off Quarkan country is left hanging in the balance as a forlornly static filled television in a department store on the streets of Talka declares that a bomb has been detonated within the capital building of Revelation Falls...*
