War! (Private Wargame Space RP)
With the usual flash of blue the GDHC Agamemnon, a Bellerophon class Heavy Cruiser, leaps into the unoccupied system, immedietly scanning for any hostile vessels.
"Anything of interest in system?"
"No, sir. I'm reading three planets, two gas giants and one frozen mudball. Nothing worthy of advanced study."
Abruptly, a light starts flashing
"Sir, we have contact! We are reading an unknown ship on an incoming vector! They are not responding to hails (unknown to him, a break in the circuitry prevented the hails from even being sent) and are moving to intercept us!"
"****! Begin power rod insertion, charge the Laser Turrets, and load the Flak Guns. Get ready for a fight!"
With that, the massive ship readies for battle.

Onboard the Guanyan Heavy Scoutship GANS Nikon, Captian John Stensfield commanding:
"Sir, there is a Klonor ship entering the system. Looks like one of the models we haven't had much contact with."
"Hail them and move us in closer, Leftenant. (The captain has some idiosyncrasies, using foreign rank systems is just one of them.) Let's take a look at the ship."
(As the GAN ship moves closer) "Sir! The Klonor ship is arming weapons!"
"WHAT? Have they responded to our hails?"
"No Sir! They seem to be preparing to fire on us."
"Arm defense systems and prep the Hellfire for firing status, but don't arm any weapons! If they fire, we'll defend ourselves, but we aren't going to be the ones that started it!"
"Yes Sir. All hands to battle stations, prepare for combat!"
The vessel slowed its approach on the Klonor ship, its commander warily prepared to defend his crew if necessary.

The Klonor ship, deaf to the hails by the same malfunction which ruined their transmitters, continues to approach.
"Still no communication. We've now determined it to be a Guanyuan ship, but there's been no outward contact. We must assume they're hostile."
"Very well. Bring the point defense web on-line, prep the fighters for launch, and bring us right up to it's belly. I want to see the beast bleed."
OOC: Point defense web? Do you just mean the PD guns?
IC: "Sir, the Klonor vessel is arming point defense systems and moving into weapons range. The computer calculates a 99.9999999995% chance they are attacking."
"Still no response to our hails?"
"No Sir, but I will continue broadcasting them."
"Damn. Prep the fighters, we'll launch our flight (36 fighters) of Stingers and keep the Death's Hand squadron in reserve. Inform the pilots that they are to counter enemy fighter threats only. Under no circumstances are they to engage the capital ship. Arm main weapons, but hold fire until we are attacked."
"Yes Sir."
The ships weapon systems come online and 36 fighters stream out of the fighter bays, setting up a patrol formation around the GAN capital ship.

OOC: PD Guns? What does PD stand for? The point defense web is a uniqe thing for the Bellerophon. What it does is lock two Laser Turrets into each Flak Gun. Wherever the Flak Gun shoots (the Flak Guns are anti-fighter and anti-missile weapons) the two lasers also shoot. Very good for destroying attacking fighters and shooting down missiles

"SIR! They're launching fighters!"
"****! Open the launching bays, and OPEN FIRE!"
At that the 2 Heavy Beam Cannons target the bridge, charge for .3 seconds, and unleash their energy.

A short distance away a Cartorian destroyer floats. Its commander, Trenton Hegan sits in the bridge watching these events unfold with a snicker on his face.
