Birthday Party of Empress Kunigunde (Fantasy RP only)

18-12-2003, 02:51
OOC: Ok, here's the deal. Sadellenar is a fantasy empire made up of a small group of kingdoms, with characters inspired by OD&D(Original Dungeons and Dragons). Basically, this is like an adventure, except its ALL roleplay. Physical confrontations, especially with the intent to kill others, will be frowned upon. Assassination, on the other hand . . . This is where to get out all those "intrigues in dark corners" urges. I'll provide the cast of characters and backgrounds, (it is my Empire, after all), anybody else who can agree to follow the rules can jump in. Character interaction is greatly encouraged, and when a character is beaten (put in a politically embarrising situation) the winning character wins concessions from the losing characters nation. Here's the rules:
1. no gunpowder or more advanced technology.
2. dragons, dwarves, etc. are real. They are also not inherently evil, so you may want to speak with them before trying to kill them.
3. If you want to be able to kill political rivals, you must state so when you first post. This also exposes you to assassination as well. *N.B. My characters will never try to purposely kill or assassinate others. However, they will defend themselves, and one can do a lot without assassinating someone e.g. sex scandal, blackmail, etc.
4. NO GODMODDING. Although magic works, it does not make a person immortal. Someone tosses a ball of fire at you, and you didn't state you were protecting yourself, somehow, beforehand, then you're a pile of ash. Unless you become VERY VERY creative.

CHARACTERS:
Empress Kunigunde II Ar Cledeb: Empress of Sadellenar, married twice, one child. 20 years old, attractive, human except for slitted cats eyes (inherited familial trait). Current head of the Imperial family, has survived one assassination attempt already as well as both an older brother and sister who held the crown before her. General consensus gives her a flighty personality.

Mishnet Tribecca: Archduke of the Palace, in charge with running the day to day affairs of the empire through the central beaurocracy. He answers only to the Empress. He is a spell-slinger of incredible skill and experience, but is more feared for his preternatural political savy. Married with three children, aged 28, human. General consensus gives him a cold and calculating personality.

Maerie Tribecca: wife of Mishnet, mother of three. Extremely attractive 26 year old woman with incredible acrobatic, and acting, ability. Independent and intelligent, the general consensus is unknown due to her acting talents, although rumor has it that the couple is having a falling out.

Werner ar Cledeb: child of Kunigunde and her first husband, Werner. The child is three years old, and is first in line for the throne.

Philip ar Cledeb: Kunigunde's younger brother, 17 years old. Was castrated during an assassination attempt in childhood, and the shock was too much for his mind. Has the mentality of a nine year old. He is still, however, third in line for the crown.

Haramis, Kadiya, and Geoffrey: 4, 4, and 2 years old, the twin daughters and son of Mishnet and Maerie.

Lanzelin Habicht: 14 year old cousin of Kunigunde and Philip. Although not interested in the Imperial crown (he has his own princedom to account for) he has demonstrated fascinating ability with magic in one so young and is watched very closely. He is fourth in line for the throne.

I will add further characters as rp progresses.

IC: Empress Kunigunde is celebrating her 20th birthday, and is sending cordial invitations to any nation who may be interested in attending the formal ball and state dinner. She shall also be hearing petitions for and suggestions on trade negotiations as well as possible suitors for her hand. This affair shall be taken as an oppertunity to strengthen diplomatic ties with friends and neighbors of the Empire.

OOC: addendum: Philip and Lanzelin are 2nd and 3rd in line for the throne, respectively. And anybody can use their political figures from their nations, thats the idea.
