Several Message Bouys have been sent to certain space nations (OOC here if you want to be one of them), that has the following message encoded on them:

From: The Guild of Galactic Pirates
To: Receiver
As you are probably aware, in the past month, pirate activities condoned by the Guild of Galactic Pirates has been down 100%. We are sure you are wondering why this is.
The time has come where we must notify the galaxy, for while the pirates of the fringe are nearly gone, we do not feel it would be necessary to place all of humanity at risk.
First, starting one and one half months ago, one of our Biological Research Stations in orbit above Atchika reported malfunctions with one of their machines. They also notified that they could fix it. 3 days later, all communications with the station were lost. We sent 2 Gorgons to investigate, with live video feed. The station looked perfectly normal on the outside. We sent a team of 5 marines into the station. They also had video capabilities. Once inside, what they saw was staggering. The station walls were pulsating. There were no corpses, but the stench of death was in the air. As they proceeded down the hall, the walls suddenly engulfed the marines. It was simple assumed they were killed. As the two Gorgons prepared their weapons to destroy the station, the bay doors on the station opened. Out came 6 Wraith fighters, which were pulsating. The Gorgons shot them down, but the Wraiths fired missiles, one of which hit one of the Gorgons. Very quickly, the crew of the Gorgon was engulfed by this... virus. The Gorgon then brushed up against the other, infecting it as well.
We are sure you can see where this is going. Over the month, the infection spread to more ships and stations. This message was sent from the last remaining pirate station, in the Krosp system. As the bouys are dispatched, a large number of missiles are heading towards the station, ETA 2 hours. We are unsure as to what caused the 'virus', as we have called the 'Grey Plague', as the pulsating membranes are colored, to be created, nor how to stop it. It spreads by contact, but it spreads very quickly. At least 400 Gorgons, and countless fighters, missiles, and guns, have been infected. 300 Stations, and 40 planets, have been infected.
As the missiles approach, I must give my farewell. Also compressed into this bouy is all the information we have on the virus. Godspeed.
