Agrigento

The Agrigentian Military High Command, acting under the authority of the Government of Agrigento has announced the creation of the Agrigentian Homeland Air-Defense Force. This new branch of the Military will be under the ultimate authority of the Agrigentian Air Force, but will act autonomously in order to ensure friendly skies over our great nation.
To accomplish this task the defense force will rely on cooperation with the Carabinieri National Police, local and regional law enforcement agencies and the Agrigentian Intelligence Agency (AIA). The Defense Force will recruit some experienced pilots and ground crews directly from the AAF, but will also expand conscription to untrained recruits, to be relegated by a revised National Active and Reserve Forces Act. Compulsory Reserve Status, a fact of Agrigentian life often unnoticed by foreigners, will also be updated to include this new branch of Service.
While the Force is well on its way to becoming a major factor in the Agrigentian Military's strategy we have but one request of our fellow nations. Agrigento has an advanced and highly developed Aircraft Industry, producing several indigenous fighters and bombers as well as the licensed construction of export aircraft such as Eurofighter 2000's and F-35B JSF's. However we require a unique aircraft manufactured by the Saab Company. The JAS 39 Gripen would be an ideal aircraft to introduce exclusively to the Air Defense Force. What makes this aircraft so endearing to us is the fact that it can takeoff and land under increasingly difficult circumstances, while not forcing us to compromise performance in favor of VTOL fighters. Its resilience, and short takeoff requirements enable the use of our extensive national highway system as a temporary network of airfields in situations of extreme national emergency.
If anyone would be willing to sell us a vast quantity of these aircraft or, better yet, the production rights to produce them, we would be thoroughly grateful.
