:!: :!: :!: Apocalypse II heavy assault tank

http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload3/apoc.jpg

This is it, the mother of all tanks. As large as it is, don't bother with "Yo Mamma" jokes. A single Apocalypse II can shred several M1A2's without risking itself. Of course, there is strength in numbers to consider here. Imagine a battalion of these smashing through concrete barriers, sandbags, and barbed wire fences into any battlefield. The sight of these behemoths is enough to strike fear into the enemy, let alone the weapons. The Apocalypse II also has an outstanding electronics outfitting, including thermal imaging hardware, fire control technology similar to the Abrams (fire on the move accurately), a GPS system, and its own radar jammer, sufficient enough to divert most guided missiles from a direct strike.

Armament: Two 145mm guns, one 12.7mm machine gun, two 7.62mm machine guns
Crew: Four
Length (gun forward): 35 ft
Width: 13 ft
Height: 10.5 ft
Armor: Chobham composite on top of rolled homogenous steel, double layer Chobham in front
Engine: 2500 hp gas turbine
Range: 175 miles
Speed: 45 mph
Price: Oh, let's say $6 million...

:!: :!: :!: Lillith fast attack tank (Mk. I shown)
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload3/liltank.jpg
Designed to use "Hit and run" tactics, the Lillith bears the name of Skullzz's National Adviser, who doubles as the governer of New Skullzz. This tank has been built to make her proud. The Lillith is a light, blazingly fast tank, designed to do significant damage to enemy vehicles and defense before they ever have a clue what happened. While not lightly armored, their considerable speed and small size makes them difficult if not impossible to target by enemy tanks. The Lillith comes in Mk. I and Mk. II variants, Mk. I being a treaded tank, Mk. II having road wheels.

Armament: One 90mm cannon, two forward mount 7.62mm machine guns
Crew: Three
Length: 16 feet
Width: 7 feet
Height: 6.5 feet
Armor: .5 in
Engine: 600 hp
Range: 420 miles
Speed: 65 mph (Mk. I) 72 mph (Mk. II)
Price: 2.5 million, either model.

Very nice... although our tech is past this, we think you've done an excellent job with this tank. However, it could stand to be a little faster, as something going 35 mph isn't much of a threat to anything. I reccommend jacking up the speed to 45 mph, which the machine will probably be able to handle. Bare in mind that modern tanks move through the desert at approximately 80 mph, so the speed alone of two Abrams could easily own this tank as it is.

Hm... I didn't want to make it TOO fast considering that it's frickin' huge, but with the engine size I suppose 45 wouldnt be impossible. Also, it's designed to be modern tech, but something like this would be pretty good competition for a lot of the crappy future tech I see thrown around here.

What can I say, I love the Apocalypse! I did my own specs and what not though, so I think I can rightfully call it mine. You ever see how sweet those were when they were elite? Allied bases never stood a chance.
Al Khals
16-12-2003, 05:00
That's hardly a fair assesment- the likes of Challenger 2 aren't much faster, but are still perfectly good tanks. One would perhaps want to be more concerned about the impractical nature of carrying two such huge guns.
Al Khals -still employing IS2M tanks amongst others- could well be wrong, but it seems likely that such a massive beast with such complicated systems and a heavy armour would probably be expensive and difficult to manufacture.

Each to his own.

Double-barreled tanks are a liability... Recoil will be a bitch.

Recoil on a tank that massive is somewhat similar to the effect of a scrawny 5 year old trying to push an 18-wheeler down the highway.
16-12-2003, 05:37
I suppose though, that with only one barrel, it would be reduced to a week-old infant on an 18-wheeler full of lead bricks on flats, going up a 30 degree incline.

Yours and Diko24's orders come out to $3,000,000,000 each.

Diko24, I would advise against such a large purchase at this time, as this would be slighty less than one third of your military budget of $10,565,280,000. Should you wish to wish to continue, please tell me so and I will send the units on recipt of the funds.

Fyreheart, your order is packed and ready to ship. All I need is the money and you'll have your tanks in one NS month.

OOC:HAH! I have better. I copied the OVERLORD tanks from C&C Generals. These tanks are so friggin huge that they can crush other tanks! And they carry 155 MM guns(please note that using such guns at close range not only will blow the heck out of anything... its down right scary too).

The guns can be upgraded fairly easily, although I think there's PLENTY enough firepower on this baby, considering that this cannon in RL is outsized only by a few DEMOLITION tanks. If that's all, your order is confirmed, will ship them upon recipt of the $3,000,000,000.

OOC: The history of the "Real" apocalypse tank (from the games)
Mammoth Tank- way back in C&C tib dawn. This tank was huge anc cool. Couldn't crush other vehicles though
Soviet Mammoth Tank- The soviets have been ripping off GDI, present in red alert 1)
Tiberian Sun mammoth tank/Mammoth Mark II- The mammoth tank in that game was more of an easteregg. The mammoth mark 2 was a huge mech similar to imperial AT-ATs, except with railguns and missiles.
Red Alert 2 Apocalypse tank- The tank you have modified. This tank was a quality piece of engineering and coolness. It could not crush other vehicles.
Yuri's Revenge Battle Fortress/Mastermind- Two additional "Super units" to balance out the game. The BF was capable of crushing walls and other vehicles.
C&C Generals Overlord tank- This is China's behemoth that has 2 humongous guns, and can mount a gattling gun, propaganda tower, or bunker on it. It can run over other vehicles. Overpowered if you ask me.:)
Generals fully upgraded marauder tank- Like a smaller overlord, except minus the turret, crushing abilities, and mounting point for the upgrades.
C&C Generals Zero Hour Tank General Emperor tank- This is the pinnacle of tankdom. It has all of the advantages of the overlord, except that it comes with a propaganda tower standard and can add a gattling cannon. Plus, it has tons more armor. :)

These tanks are good in an urban setting, although not quite as good if you want to keep that setting anywhere near as urban as it was when you rolled the tank in. The three machine guns are excellent for urban scenarios. The only problem I'd imagine is that in maneuvering on small streets, you might encounter the problem of taking chunks out of the corners of buildings. I personally prefer the Lillith light tanks for urban entry, they're better suited to that environment than the Apocalypse II. Both are very much capable, but I feel the Lillith fits the task better. Literally.

OOC: I have NO clue on that. I'll say that it does look like I edited it, but I know I didn't. o_O The ghosts of NS haunt us!
