I noticed how much research many store front owners go to for weapon range, capability, and price. When it comes to Naval, and Aeronautic equipment, very impressive.
However, has anyone else noticed that in any storefront if you buy an infantry weapon like say an AK-47, or a Desrt Eagle. The research rather lacking when it comes to prices.
I mean you order 2000 Desert Eagles, and RETAIL for everyone of them.
No nation in their right mind would pay retail for thousands of rifles or hand guns.
I mean if America sells Australia 10,000 M-16's(armalite) you think they charge them 300$ a rifle?
For that matter the private sector arms manufacturers do not charge like that either.
I realize the term is 'storefront' however it is not like you are sending your ambassodor to the local gunshop.
Bulk rates people, you all work so hard on being realistic, I hate to see it get screwed by that little detail.
Just an observation though.

The US Army pays $250 for every M16A2, so I don't think $300 is all that much for a foreign order.

Nice observation, but this is NS, it needs to be charged like this.

Generally speaking if you ask for bulk rates you might get them.

A quoted price is merely an invatation to trade at that price you can always try to haggle.

prices on firearms are a tricky issue as it can be very difficult to find the actual cost that national govenrments pay for brand new weapons (ie unless you can find russian budjet documents then the aquisition cost on the newer Ak models is going to be difficult) and the private market is more than a little unreliable.

Partly the market is to blame people charge what others are prepared to pay (plus add in nice extras such perceived value etc).

DO i consider my equipment expensive?
YES
Do i consider it worth every penny
absolutly

I wouldn't worry about it, issues are always worth bringing up.

The pricing of firearms is tricky

My pet peeve is: "I refuse to pay $300 for an AK47! you can get them in afghanistan for $25!" (this also applies to rpgs)

Well it has issues first in that the afghan/pakistan bad lands don't exist in NS, thats the price an impoverished cave dweller is asking for because he found it lying around in a cave and found it sucks compared to his 100year old SMLE .303, that is not the price the russian army paid for it (in as much as they paid ie labour and material costs) and not the price you will ever pay for a brand new or fully reconditioned item.

sorry end of rant.

One must also consider that the NS world is an extreme buyer's market... it's like the Abu Dhabi arms fair year-round. :)
