The Principality of Than has been blocking commonly used slipstream routes along the Xanthalian borders over the past 48 hours, causing a severe backup of international transportation of both personnel and cargo to and from the the Xanthalian capital system of Aellis. The Principality has also dispatched a heavy battlegroup to patrol along the Xanthalian border in a show of force.

The Republic has done nothing to deserve such treatment from you. You have your system, leave us alone. The backup of exports and people you have caused in your antics is unacceptable, and your battlegroup is an obvious threat to us. It is truly a sad day that our former allies make such efforts to hinder us.

You still hold our brethren hostage within your Aellis system. Only when they are released to us will there be peace between us.

Kecha: We know, but we are always hesitant to make internal affairs an external concern. With our military rebellion we were forced to, here we can handle it alone. Still, if you wish to participate we will welcome you to the fight. Just know that you will take losses. The Principality may be no match for us, but they will cause us a fair amount of damage before we can eliminate them as a threat if war breaks out. They are equipped with a good deal of Xanthalian technology; a little outdated, but still quite deadly. That is why we want to avoid a conflict, not only for the physical damage they would cause us, but also the morale blow that comes from having to kill one's former allies.

Xanthal: Cast off the shroud that is your shame friends! if they are this willing to turn against you, they were never really your allies at all, as for losses, we know, we are a Nation of Warriors, we are ready to die for our causes, and those of friends, if it comes to fighting, we wil commit our small Armada Royale to this fight, we have some idea to equalize things.

So be it. We request that you send your fleet to the outskirts of the Than system. Tickle their borders, but don't cross them. The Than will be forced to make a move then, for better or worse. They can't afford to leave their fleet at our doorstep if their own system is threatened.

IC: If it's border-skirting you ask for, we shall do so, our single Dreadnought has been dispatched now, along with 30 Andromeda-Class ships, will this be enough to cause them to worry?

3/4 of the Than fleet has been diverted from the Aellis system to the Than system to block incoming Kechan ships.

Kecha: I love it when a plan comes together. Okay, so what's our next move?

Xanthal: Let's mess with them a little, just to see how they react, I'll have my ships go under Silent Running to vanish for a little while, then reappear, then vanish, and so on, it'll drive them so nuts looking for my ships, they'll pay less attention to you, sound good?

Kecha: We don't want to make the prince more nervous (or nuts) then he was before. We'll take the next move.

Xanthalian ships begin moving into a two-dimensional formation spread out in front of the Than ships left in the Aellis system.

Xanthal: To be totally honest with you, I don't believe he can get any more nuts than he is now, what do you want me to do?

Than: What is the meaning of pulling warships over to a position to threaten our ships?

Kecha: Just wait. We've caught wind of a Than rebellion. Let's see how it turns out.

The Xanthalian ships make a forcefield grid and start sweeping it towards the Thanic ships, forcing them out of the way. They then pass by again, making the Than scramble to avoid both the grid and the border of the Aellis system.

Kecha: We have the right to protect ourselves. Do not cross our borders and do not fire on us and you will not be harmed.

The Thanic ships on the Aellis borders drop their shields. They send a message to the Xanthalian ships that they are defecting to the Republic.

The Xanthalian ships pick up the defecting Than and tow their ships into the system.

The Xanthalians have taken our people prisoner and stolen our ships. Do you still wish to ally yourselves with such a dishonorable nation, Kecha?

LRR will send four destroyer squadrons to help the Xanthal and Kechan forces. Two will aid the kechan border skirting and two will aid the Xanthal home gaurd.

An LRR destroyer squadron consists of:

12 Rockland class patrol destroyers (w/2 corvettes each)
25 Franconia class Combat frigates Iw/1 corvette each)
1 Agusta class replenishment frigate
1 Albany class sensors ship
2 Montpilier class multipurpose ships
4 Concord class marine frigates

From a nation we have no real relations with we cannot ask this sacrifice. Thank you, but this is not your fight. LRR ships are asked to remain outside Xanthalian and Thanic space.
