Xanthal and the Than Principality: Threats of war. (Open RP)

15-12-2003, 18:44
The Principality of Than has been blocking commonly used slipstream routes along the Xanthalian borders over the past 48 hours, causing a severe backup of international transportation of both personnel and cargo to and from the the Xanthalian capital system of Aellis. The Principality has also dispatched a heavy battlegroup to patrol along the Xanthalian border in a show of force.
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 18:47
The Republic has done nothing to deserve such treatment from you. You have your system, leave us alone. The backup of exports and people you have caused in your antics is unacceptable, and your battlegroup is an obvious threat to us. It is truly a sad day that our former allies make such efforts to hinder us.
15-12-2003, 18:48
You still hold our brethren hostage within your Aellis system. Only when they are released to us will there be peace between us.
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 18:51
Your "brethren" ran from you! They don't want to be a part of your totalitarian system! They were those that did not betray us as you did! Try to take them against their will and we'll grind the last of you under our fists!
15-12-2003, 18:51
Give me a million and i will put defences around your counry xanthal
15-12-2003, 18:52
Why do you lobby for posession of Than IV? It is ours.
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 18:53
Yes it's yours, since you took it from us! But it's also the home of the Than that were forced to flee with us to escape you! They want their lives back, and rightfully so!
15-12-2003, 18:54
They will love to serve us, as all Than do. Your coersion keeps our brothers from us.
15-12-2003, 18:55
i do it for free if you let me do it and i will keep the brethen from harms way
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 18:58
You think your people love you Prince? You are the most sadly unobservant fool of a leader if you do. You opress them, kill those that do not serve you! You think that their forced silence at their treatment is a sign of acceptance? Your "brothers" are appalled at the way you treat your people! They have chosen to stay with us, away from their lives and their homes only because they know they face brutal opression and death if they return!
15-12-2003, 19:00
We will cease our blockades of your routes, but our battlegroup will remain on your doorstep. Your first mistake will be your last.
Xanthal

OOC: Blood Devourers: Are you a future nation?

IC: Perhaps you simply don't realize that your fleet is no match for our Armada and defense outposts. Fine, leave your accursed fleet where it is. Expect it to have the company of five Xanthalian fleets within the next hour. Good day.
15-12-2003, 23:18
The Principality is sending nine more fleets to face off yours.
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 23:22
Nine more fleets of what? Fighters? You're not fooling anyone with your posing. Still, we'll call you with our own ships; not that it's really necessary. We have dispatched five more fleets, the entire Dreadnaught compliment of the Armada along with some other combat vessels and 30,000 slipfighters, to face off with you. Don't you worry, sending your entire compliment of warships like this? Someone could easily stab you in the back.

15-12-2003, 23:32
We have planetary defenses...
Xanthal
15-12-2003, 23:38
Indeed... Old, outdated planetary defenses. Why are you doing this? Move your fleets away from our capital. We do not wish to fight you, but we sure as hell will if you keep up your current tactics.
16-12-2003, 01:09
Hm. We shall see how our negotiations progress. If they fail it does not matter anyway. If you think your Than are so precious to you, we shall see how you feel about causing the deaths of millions of our own Than.
Xanthal
16-12-2003, 01:13
If you try genocide as a negotiation tactic we will kill every member of your corrupt government before smashing your skull to bits on the steps of your own palace Prince. The Republic will not tolerate the killing of innocent noncombatants, especially not when those noncombatants are our allies.
16-12-2003, 01:16
16-12-2003, 01:26
There are no innocents. Those we kill are guilty. We cannot be wrong.
Xanthal
16-12-2003, 01:27
You are insane.
16-12-2003, 01:30
Perhaps we are, but I think we are not.
Kecha
16-12-2003, 03:50
There are no innocents. Those we kill are guilty. We cannot be wrong. Yes, you can, and you will stop badgering the nation of Xanthal, or must we ask Xanthal to let us send Ships of The Line in to convince you to cooperate Prince?
Kamrad Stalin
16-12-2003, 03:52
Traitors and Deserters are not tolerated in my Natoin either!
Than My Nation is with you on this one.
Kecha
16-12-2003, 05:32
Traitors and Deserters are not tolerated in my Natoin either!
Than My Nation is with you on this one. Not wise, not wise at all.
16-12-2003, 20:09
Kecha: Do not think that we fear you, Kechans. We know you to be allies of our enemy. You would do well to stay out of our way. We may not be a military match for Xanthal, but we think that you might not be such a problem.

Kamrad Stalin: Do you wish to serve us then? We can make you a part of the Principality and use you for the good of me. Us. We will be, what is. Together.
Xanthal
17-12-2003, 03:04
Kecha: Thank you for your support. It would probably be best for us to handle this alone though.

Kamrad Stalin: If you join the Principality they will absorb you. An alliance with them is a submission to their authority.

The Than: Please, just let it go.
Kecha
17-12-2003, 03:30
Than: *Laughs*......*Laughs some more*

Xanthal: Numbers aren't everything, we wish only to help good friends.
Xanthal
17-12-2003, 03:44
Kecha: We know, but we are always hesitant to make internal affairs an external concern. With our military rebellion we were forced to, here we can handle it alone. Still, if you wish to participate we will welcome you to the fight. Just know that you will take losses. The Principality may be no match for us, but they will cause us a fair amount of damage before we can eliminate them as a threat if war breaks out. They are equipped with a good deal of Xanthalian technology; a little outdated, but still quite deadly. That is why we want to avoid a conflict, not only for the physical damage they would cause us, but also the morale blow that comes from having to kill one's former allies.
Kecha
17-12-2003, 03:51
Xanthal: Cast off the shroud that is your shame friends! if they are this willing to turn against you, they were never really your allies at all, as for losses, we know, we are a Nation of Warriors, we are ready to die for our causes, and those of friends, if it comes to fighting, we wil commit our small Armada Royale to this fight, we have some idea to equalize things.
Xanthal
17-12-2003, 18:46
So be it. We request that you send your fleet to the outskirts of the Than system. Tickle their borders, but don't cross them. The Than will be forced to make a move then, for better or worse. They can't afford to leave their fleet at our doorstep if their own system is threatened.
Kecha
18-12-2003, 01:50
IC: If it's border-skirting you ask for, we shall do so, our single Dreadnought has been dispatched now, along with 30 Andromeda-Class ships, will this be enough to cause them to worry?

Than: So ye have asked, and so ye shall recieve.
Xanthal
18-12-2003, 02:09
It should be. We shall wait and watch.
Kecha
18-12-2003, 02:39
Xanthal: Very well, our ships shall operate on conditions of Silent Running Status, so the Than won't see us coming untill we're there on their home front step.
18-12-2003, 18:53
You will not intimidate us.
Xanthal
18-12-2003, 19:09
Kecha: If you go in do it visibly, not silently. We want pressure, not a bang. If you pop up already in range they might panic and start shooting.
Kecha
19-12-2003, 01:26
Xanthal: Very well, the ships will exit SRS, right now, the Than will see them, but will be afraid to do anything.
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 03:16
Or so we hope...
19-12-2003, 03:21
3/4 of the Than fleet has been diverted from the Aellis system to the Than system to block incoming Kechan ships.
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 03:26
Kecha: I love it when a plan comes together. Okay, so what's our next move?
Kecha
19-12-2003, 04:31
Xanthal: Let's mess with them a little, just to see how they react, I'll have my ships go under Silent Running to vanish for a little while, then reappear, then vanish, and so on, it'll drive them so nuts looking for my ships, they'll pay less attention to you, sound good?
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 13:37
Kecha: We don't want to make the prince more nervous (or nuts) then he was before. We'll take the next move.

Xanthalian ships begin moving into a two-dimensional formation spread out in front of the Than ships left in the Aellis system.
Kecha
19-12-2003, 13:46
Xanthal: To be totally honest with you, I don't believe he can get any more nuts than he is now, what do you want me to do?

Than: What is the meaning of pulling warships over to a position to threaten our ships?
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 16:11
Kecha: Just wait. We've caught wind of a Than rebellion. Let's see how it turns out.

The Xanthalian ships make a forcefield grid and start sweeping it towards the Thanic ships, forcing them out of the way. They then pass by again, making the Than scramble to avoid both the grid and the border of the Aellis system.
19-12-2003, 16:21
Kecha: We have the right to protect ourselves. Do not cross our borders and do not fire on us and you will not be harmed.

The Thanic ships on the Aellis borders drop their shields. They send a message to the Xanthalian ships that they are defecting to the Republic.
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 16:23
The Xanthalian ships pick up the defecting Than and tow their ships into the system.
19-12-2003, 16:25
The Xanthalians have taken our people prisoner and stolen our ships. Do you still wish to ally yourselves with such a dishonorable nation, Kecha?

19-12-2003, 16:58
LRR will send four destroyer squadrons to help the Xanthal and Kechan forces. Two will aid the kechan border skirting and two will aid the Xanthal home gaurd.

An LRR destroyer squadron consists of:

12 Rockland class patrol destroyers (w/2 corvettes each)
25 Franconia class Combat frigates Iw/1 corvette each)
1 Agusta class replenishment frigate
1 Albany class sensors ship
2 Montpilier class multipurpose ships
4 Concord class marine frigates

19-12-2003, 17:32
From a nation we have no real relations with we cannot ask this sacrifice. Thank you, but this is not your fight. LRR ships are asked to remain outside Xanthalian and Thanic space.
Kecha
19-12-2003, 20:26
Xanthal: what do we do now? a good push in the Than System could end this here and now.

Than: Yes, Xanthal is still our ally, we have no real alternatives now, we're in to far for our Warrior's Honor to allow us to back out, add to that the fact that the Thanic ships defected of their own volition, well....
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 22:23
Kecha: Define "push". Because if it involves any shooting it's unacceptable. The Than in that system are only pawns of the Than Prince. The Senate has declared that in the current situation any civilian loss of life cannot occur.

Sacrifice? Not in the slightest. Just a day's work.

If you are concerned with the loss of life, you need not be afraid. EMP torpedos will be able to cripple ships without killing crews. And there's no way we would attack civilians. You know our ways, Xanthal.
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 22:46
Lunatic Retard Robots: We cannot be responsible for losses you take, but if it is truly your wish to help then you may do so. Do not take any aggressive action yet though.

Ok. The destroyer squadrons are ready. Where should they be sent to?
Xanthal
19-12-2003, 23:27
The Than system. If war must occur, that is where assistance will be most helpful.

The Than system. If war must occur, that is where assistance will be most helpful.

Ok. But first they'll need some info.

How far out do Than ships typically patrol?
How well-protected is their planet?
They'll need some intel on Than ships, too.
Xanthal
20-12-2003, 01:27
Question one: There are no patrols, the Than don't have the resources. All their ships are generally in-system.
Question two: Very. They have Xanthalian planetary shields and orbital (and planetary) defense systems on both Than IV and Than VI. Of the two, Than VI is slightly better defended.
Question three: The Thanic forces are sophisticated in offensive capability, but very limited in defense. The bulk of their fleet is made up of large fighters, but they also posess a few larger craft.

Oh. Well then.

:D

I have to say, this might be a tad one-sided.
Xanthal
20-12-2003, 04:21
Lunatic Retard Robots: Yes. That's why we discouraged you from joining us. We will win anyway, but the more people join us the more deaths there will be.

The Than: We offer you a truce. Let us live in peace. You may have your system and the technology we left behind there, we keep the Than that ran from you. Surely you can see, oh Prince, the value in preserving your state?
20-12-2003, 04:24
Xanthal: Very well. We will cease our hostilities and interference in your affairs. We can survive without you, and one day our brethren will return to us.
Xanthal
20-12-2003, 04:28
The Than: Indeed...

Kecha and LRR: The Than Prince has agreed to cease his hostilities. No blood must be shed today. You are invited to the Aellis system for a debriefing and celebration, but that is optional.

All deployed Xanthalian ships return to the Aellis system.
Kecha
20-12-2003, 04:38
Than: Wise choice, but your brethren won't ever return to you as you are now.

Xanthal: Are you inviting the Task Force we sent to head into the Aellis System?
Xanthal
20-12-2003, 04:44
Kecha: Yes.
Kecha
20-12-2003, 17:37

Xanthal
20-12-2003, 17:56

Okay.
20-12-2003, 18:18
For the sum of $10,000,000 my country will supply either country with 20,000 well-trained Marines equipped with M16's and RPG's.
Kecha
20-12-2003, 18:27
Rebeland: hostilities have ceased.
Xanthal
20-12-2003, 18:27
Rebeland: For the low price of $0 we will reduce your nation to rubble if you try to supply the Prince with firepower.

All your base are belong to us.

That's not much of a price. And I would have my destroyer squadrons seize the bases before you sent off your shipments.
