I took all of the Stickies that I've seen before and kinda, uh, consolidated them. Tell me how it is.
RP - Role Play
OOC: - Out of Character
IC: - Go back to In Character but only after and OOC
Thread - Another Term for Post
Godmodding - Playing as god, see further definition further down.
First, the basics of RP:
In RP you are basically actively controlling your nation. You are not REALLY Controllong your country but you are. They are not really there, its all whatever you say. There are several types of RP.
1. War: The most common type in with us warriors, its probably the most fun. Everyone has their own style but everyone should follow a basic example.
"The Fulovit First Division Advanced towards the shore. The Marines jumbled around in their landing craft. The Enemy troops on shore opened with machinegus once the landing craft were within effective range. As Machingun bullets rippled through the troops, several F-15E Strike Eagles soared through air towards the pillboxes. Coming in low and dropping their Napalm they lost two of the eight plane wing to AA fire and Small Arms. The damage they did to the defenses was miniscule but it was effective in slowing the Enemy fire."
That I just made up on the spot but it's the basic format.
Here are some basic Guidelines for posts.
A: Make it at least 2 to 3 paragraphs long.
B: Include at least 3 lines of dialogue for each one.
C: Don't do too much at a time, let the enemy react.
D: Be a good sport, don't take over without a fight. It's the fun part of the game so don't ruin it in the first minute.
E: If your enemy doesn't post for at least a week, only after a week can you stop it and declare a stalemate. GIVE IT A WEEK!
2. Political and Incidental RP.
The same thing above, just its normally just a few posts of people's reactions to it. It's for telling other people of how your country is doing.
3. Storefronts
Where you "Sell" stuff to people. Look in the nationstates Forum for Examples.
Now the good part.
What's Godmodding
A: Saying what happens to other people's armies or junk.
Like saying: May army killed off ten thousand of your men with a big bunker buster.
This causes
B: Not taking losses, which also causes a "No you didn't, yes I did, No you didn't" match.
C: Huge Armies.
Use the frickin 5% rule. if 10% of you country is in the military then at least 5% would be support and supply. This is being generous.
D: Tech
Stealth and Invisibility may be possible, but everyone will not have the most high tech equipment. Every soldier will not have active camo or that $20,000,000 Computer system which moves metal plates to reinforce the positions of the body that are about to be hit by bullets.
E: Tech levels.
A nation in 12th Century Europe will NEVER fight a war with a country on mars in that 30th Century. If it does boil down to it, Arrows kill just as dead as a laser cannon with ionic suppressor will.
