Jaxusism has put its defense into JaxCode18, which prepares 400 fighters, 5 million soldiers, hundreds of helicopters, & many naval ships, including submarines. This is to prepare for any attack on Jaxusism as the government has had many "anonymous" threats. Patrols are all around the nation 24/7.

5 million soldiers? That's godmodding! Not even China + North Korea have that many combined.

Depends on what % of your GDP you spend on military. The maximum is 5% while 1-2% is more normal. The figure you use is really upto you, but it does have be realistic based on your military budget.

Don't do a North Korea! 18% of GDP goes the military.

generally speaking a developed nation can't really afford to have more than 5% of it's population in armed service at any one time, even in the direst of sitations. less than 1% is about average for a developed nation in peacetime with that rising to 1-2% in states of alert.

poorer nations can actually afford to have higher levels of thier population in armed service as the loss of work force has a far less drastic effect on thier economic production.

A good illustration can be found in David Webber's Honor Harrington books where you have one nation that has a massively powerful economy that starts to suffer as they hit a 3% draft yuet thier opponents have a totally arsed up economy that actually grows as they are forced to draft larger percentages into the military.

OOC: As I understand it, you find a percentile of your population that is equal to your conscription percent. For example, if you have 2% of your nation in the military, then you divide population by 100 and multiply that result with 2.

OOC: If you have 2% you could field some 30-40 million servicemen - But remember that this is your entire military, so it would have to be divided among the various armed branches, and support eats up a lot of men and money as well. A good model goes as follows:

37% traditional armed forces. Navy, army, air force.
8% strategic forces-- WMDs and ICBMs, etc.
2% air and sea lift/transport.
5% reserves. Your militia and angry peasants with pitchforks go here.
7% intelligence and communications. Satellites, analysts, etc.
9% research and development.
10% central supply/maintenance. These are all your logistics bases that serve the larger units.
22% all other support.

OOC: Rounding your pop to 200 million (you have 207 million) take 5% and that's 10 million soldiers possible... but since you would need a total war economy to feed that cut that in half and you have 5 million soldiers, which still need a budget towards defense... but I assume that with the threats you've done this..so in my eyes you're ok!
