The Lalandian is a short, bipedal humanoid with mottled green skin, sea-anemonie-like hands, circular feet, and face with a row of sensory organs going down the center with two large mouths on either side.
They have recently concluded a civil war between those who would pursue paranormal research, in contrivention of the ancient religion of their speicies, and those who stood with their holy text. The anti-paranormalists lost and many were deported, possibly in the direction of Earth and other nearby stars.
I realize that the Lalande system isn't very hospitable to life... but imagine... if you will... a world staying close to that cold red star, orbiting and soaking up its dying rays... here, a civilization has arisen...
Lalande 21185, in fact, has not one but three habitable worlds, all of which are in use by the native Lalandians (in their own language tìhh-h/fâçgj). They are ruled by a sort of benevolent merchant oligarchy. They have never had too much interest in expanding beyond their home system.
The Republic is preserved! The evil antiscientists have been dispersed among the stars! Their leaders scatter! See our victory! Now, no power shall be hidden from us. All shall be laid bare until we look into the face of God himself! Behold, the dawn!
