Opportunity for trade... [semi OOC]

Santa Barbara

This is a mirror of here:

OOC: This is an OOC post: my reasoning, I have some of the largest economic sectors* in the world, so in game terms at least, I already must engage in lots of international trade in NS.

But RP wise, I don't. So this is a basic way for me to get a list of nations that I either legally trade with, export, import or both. I'm doing this to find out just who those nations I trade with are.

I don't have a list of general products (yet), and this isn't strictly military trade (we sell older military hardware, though). But this is not a RP of a specific company selling specific things (i.e, a "Storefront"), it is just whether your country and/or corporations do business of some kind with the PrattCo Conglomerate, the Federal Government, or one of gazillions of subcorps.

Please post here what your basic trade relationship with Santa Barbara is. (IE, you export some raw material, and you import PCC machine parts or something) It will later be used for my (and hopefully yours :) ) factbook.

(If you have some specific RP of trade you want to do that is fine as well, otherwise this is mostly background stuff that happens more or less automatically.)

As a rough guide, figure that I have massive (nearish future) industries producing lots of things out of places like MegaFactories (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98666), manufactured goods, industrial products, refined and raw resources, consumer products, services like Disaster Relief, Incorporated, (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83705) agriculture, retail, etc.

Carlemnaria

carlemnaria is post petrolium, post monitarist and post warring states, we do enguage in considerable barter and cooperative potlatching both internaly and with some of our nearest neighbors. our products are mostly hand crafted except where standardization is a minimum neccessity. they range from wooden flutes to complete turnkey rail and other guideway based transit infrastructure and systems. and of course a wide and diverse range of aggricultural products as well as peacetime robotic devices capable of being programed psionicly and other tecnology to assist in doing so.

we're a bit unlike anyone you're likely to have previously delt with though as our REAL economy is totaly non monitary. being based primarily and mutual potlatching and the prestege of creating and shairing beauty being the engine that drives it.

our ns stats can only approximate most of this, not appearently actualy possessing the capacity to more accurately illustrate it. but that's ok. much of how we do things would be difficult to translate into terms meaningfull to 20/21st century mundane earth without long and rather detailed explanation. (though 21st centure mundane earth human society is perfectly capable of implimenting them and might well bennifit from doing so)

I would assume that there is some trade between our nations since we're in the same region (although kind of far away), but it hasn't been specifically mentioned. I have replied to your post on the regional forum (haven't checked there yet before writing it), so maybe something will get going from that.
Isla de Penguinata

I'd be interested in opening trade with your nation. Penguinatan exports usually consist of automobile parts and natural gas. However, our technological sector is booming like never before, and cellular phones, laptops, and other electronic equipment is sold regularly.

Imports that we'd be willing to have range in the area of foodstuffs, as much of Isla de Penguinata is frozen solid most of the year, being in the Arctic Circle.

Moontian would also be interested in pursuing trade with your country. Please check out my website, www.freewebs.com/moontian for elements, food and military hardware. I'll be building up my storefront further.

We probably trade, mainly raw materials shipped from Yerwaht traded for finished high-tech components.

We probably already trade with you - all kinds of IT software and raw uranium being our most exportable products. If there aren't any trade agreements already in existence, we'd be more than happy to arrange some!
