Global Warming Disaster Forecast

Whittier
11-12-2003, 23:11
Today, Whittier's scientific community made an unprecedented alert to the government today warning of global catastrophy as temperatures reach higher levels.
They cited that the artic ocean's ice cap was melting rapidly and was barely half the size it was a century ago, and they noted the destruction of hundreds of villages and towns around the world as the frozen tundra of the northern latitudes thawed out, causing the ground to become soft and mushily muddy. As a result, whole towns have sunk into the ground. Sometimes while their occupants were still asleep.
They noted further, that forests and temperate plant species are encroaching into the artic.
And several artic species are in danger of extinction because of this rapid change in global climate.
They believe, that it is highly likely that these changes will result in higher ocean levels and destructive flooding and tidal waves around the world.
Meantime, two tidal waves from the artic are being tracked by the Whittier government. One is heading for New York, and the other for the Whittierite city of Los Angeles.
A third tidal wave destroyed Belfast Ireland yesterday.
It is believed there will be more such tidal waves as the climate situation continues to worsen.
Meantime, people are being evacuated from Harrapa as that nation faces the Mother of all Storms, a massive hurricane, thunderstorm phenomenon so massive it would cover the entire state of California. All attempts to study the storm electronically have failed as the storm is also emitting electro static discharges that destroys the electronics and avionics of any aircraft that gets to close.
The nation of Mohenjo--daro has already evacuated its citizens to shelters built by the government.
Meantime, in response to the threat to Los Angeles, Secretary General Brezhnekov has declared a state of emergency.
