I recommend that...
1. DOn't sell every one of your nuclear weapons.
2. If you do sell nukes, don't sell them at such a low price.

All of you nations are WAY too young to have Nukes. I say these orders should be made null and voided. Nuclear armament sales are a sensitive area and no NOOBS should EVER be consider to have them.

I agree. Where did he get the nukes from? Hmmm he's only 5 days younger than me... But still. I'm way cooler. 8)
11-12-2003, 20:45
may I buy 2 of your nuclear missiles?

Hyperspatial Travel, dismantle your nuclear weapons IMMEDIATELY. You are not to sell them, and should you attempt to fire them, you will find extremely large glass craters where your silos are currently situated. Your nation is far too young to attempt to become a nuclear power.

Yes i agree with the other LEARNED NATIONS, I.E. NOT NOOBS.
IC: If this blatant nuclear proliferation is not stopped then there will be serious reprocussions, and i don't mean the UN type ones!

I will take em for 2 billion

No nuclear weapon has ever had a "50 kilometre damage radius".

Nuclear weapon yields are described in kilotons/megatons of TNT. The Hiroshima bomb was something like 10 kT, your average ICBM warhead is 400 kT, the largest nuclear weapon ever tested was something like 40 MT. Any one of these weapons would largely destroy any city; the largest would completely level Manhattan and destroy the entire New York metropolitan area.

Nuclear weapons are very difficult to build, I think as a general rule your nation needs 1 billion population before you can think about it. So get lost noobs.

Closer to 500 million, actually. And it also varies depending on your nation's status, heavily militaristic nations can have them much earlier than highly liberal democracies.
12-12-2003, 21:23
The largest nuclear bomb ever detonated was a 62 MEGATON thermonuclear device called the Tasar Bomb. The loargest nuclear bombs today are 25 megatons. A single 1 megaton warhead afects an area up to 50 miles.

I know my country is pretty young in terms of its existance, but i'm going to have to agree with some of the larger nations here. Nations with populations under at least 400,000 should not have nuclear weapons, the main reason being their misuse in conflicts. I know many smaller nations want nuclear arms and other such technology in order to defend themselves against threats, but realistically these kinds of technologies cannot be trusted with n00bs including myself. (Please excuse any spelling mistakes)

Finally, a n00b nation with some common sense. There is hope for the future after all. By the way, since you mentioned spelling mistakes I feel almost obligated to point out existance, which should be "existence".

Goddamn noob nations....
13-12-2003, 05:39
I will take them, just name a price.
Indra Prime
13-12-2003, 05:55
In the spirit of common sense, Indra Prime is willing to purchase all the warheads from you for the price you mention only to make sure that these missiles don't fall in the hands of a young nation with little experience. The missiles will be dismantled once we recieve them and we will use the cores to help fuel our research in defensive technology. We have our own stockpile of nuclear weapons and a large on at that, but other than that Indra Prims is trying to get all the extra nukes that people are just willing to sell. We are willing to start a consortium of nations that would buy all the nuclear warheads they can get their hands on in order to make the defensive technology. Once completed, the technology will be shared with all allied consortium nations.

- To Her Divine Eminence Ar'khanya Khe'lan of the Most Serene Republic of Urthuk Khe'l'khor

From: Her Divine Eminence's Intelligence Services
Re: Rumors of arms sales by the Armed Republic of Hyperspatial Travel

Datum: AR Hyperspatial Travel offering medium to high yield nuclear devices for open sale.
Datum: AR Hyperspatial Travel's economic makeup is mildly dubious... private sector consisting of 14 year old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, total economic stature barely solvent. Official UN classification of "Reasonable".
Datum: The AR's total population is 134 million at the time of this writing.

Informed Speculation: The AR's private sector is utterly incapable of producing the scientific knowhow to construct a working device.
Informed Speculation: The AR's government sector may -- MAY -- be capable of this... but given the makeup of the society and the attitudes of its autocratic government, we have no sane theory as to why they would wish to sell weapons of such power on the open market to any and all comers, even if they did possess them.

Most Probable Conclusion: The AR either does not possess such weapons or, if they do, would not sell them on the open market absent a major psychotic episode on the part of its senior leadership.

Recommendation: That Your Divine Eminence issue a directive to our agency authorizing investigation into the exact nature of the substances that the AR's leadership is abusing, and take steps to prevent its import into the MSR Urthuk Khe'l'khor.

With your indulgence, Your Divine Eminence...

Ok, ok, and I will give you 49% stock someone else's goverment. Sounds like a deal to me.

500 million? When the nuclear bomb was first invented, the us only had around 180,000,000 people! Personally, I follow the one month rule. No nations under a month get the bomb, unless they got it RPing (like an ally gave them one to use on a mutual enemy, etc.)
22-12-2003, 02:22
What about developing a nuke? I know some nations have uriaum and I know it'd take a long time to build one and a lot of money and my nation is very new, a few days new so i know I won't get my hands on a nuke for a long while to come but I did make a deal with another nation that I don't want to name here that has a uriaum mining in there nation and I paid $2.5billion of my denfence budget to be allowed to get Uriaum from them which is a lot of my money's defense budget so i don't have much more left to spend (but i'm counting on my region for protection if needed :D ) but if you have uriaum how long would it take to develope Nukes? And about how much money? Just wondering because I don't want to come on a month later (Real time) and be like "alright we've developed a nuke and this is how much it cost us) and to end up being horribly off on the time frame (to soon, to short) and/or horribly off on the amount it took to research and build (way to little or way to much) etc.
So yea...
