Radiation from the recent ADK orbital war has heated the Martian atmosphere, messing with wind currents.
The spectacular auroras were soon followed by massive expansion of the cold air over the south pole. The highest winds hurtled across Vascillia towards Indiastan, Burninatonia, and Tor Yvresse, dumping deep layers of dust across Tyrrhena Massif. Similar winds also battered the southern coast of Mare Hellas, sweeping up massive waves across the entire basin and turning the waters red. To the west, winds flowed across Noachia without any barriers, kicking up dust storms on a scale seldom seen since the beginning of the terraform, accompanied by static build-up and spectacular lightning storms as the dust clouds sped towards Qaaolchoura. A similar situation was set up in Sirenum, with huge quantities of dust piling up at the edge of Solis Planum.
A less violent set of currents moved down from the north, generating whiteouts over most of Oceanus Borealis, choppy waters in Mare Acidalia, and high waves on Chryse coastlines. The procession of frigid air over land on the Tharsis Peninsula brought sub-freezing temperatures as far south as Ascraeus, but for the most part not further than Uranius Patera, totally freezing over Tempe Terra.
