A UN peacekeeping mission that was sent to shadowsdale was attacked by Hanchinsu forces along the long desputed border between shadowsdale and Hanchinsu. 10 UN peacekeepers were killed and 5 more were wounded before Shadowsdale forces broke up the fight.

Shadowsdale (in retatliation for the attack) attack the Hanchinsu port city of Shingmay that killed 600 Hanchinsu soldiers and 1000 civilians.

Today a UN peacekeeping mission was attacked by Hanchinsu insurgents. This is an act of war and it was not tolerated. We have launched an invasion of Hanchinsu and have sofar been meet with success. However we have meet stiff resistance and have lost 6000 men in the assault.

"The attack of UN Peacekeepers cannot and will not be tolerated by the United States of Independent Hitmen. As a long standing member of the UN we feel that it is our duty to send troops to sort this conflict out. If the Government of Shadowsdale permits us to, the 6th Infantry Division along with the Carrier Battle Groups the USIHS Intrepid and Investigator will move to the area immeadiately."

President Anderson stepped off the stage in the New White House Press Room and walked back towards his office, ignoring reporters questions. General Siler, Head of the Joint Chiefs met him on his way.

"Sir deploying the whole 6th Infantry is a little bit excessive. We only need a Regimental Sized force in the area along with air and tank support. Shadowsdale may object to an entire division on the border."

"Well General we talked this over earlier, have you got any ideas yet?"

"Yessir. We deploy a Regiment of the 6th Infantry onto the ground and keep the rest at Fort Lothian, in the Empire of Riders_of_ Rohan. Then if necessary they can be deployed very quickly."

"Ok General, make it happen."

"Roger that Sir" he said as he made towards the Situation Room to transmit the Presidents orders.

Hanchinsu has launched a counter offensive that has left Shadowsdale forces with only one option...retreat... the shadowsdale capital of Clopton has been placed under barrage by Hanchinsu forces and the president ahs been seriously wounded by a shell fragment.

Hattia condemns the killing of UN peacekeepers, but we also condemn the retalitatory attack taken by Shadowsdale. We would like to help stop this but our military is tied up defending the country.

Could we perhaps get some confirmation of this? Perhaps a post from Hanchinsu or a link to a thread where this happened?

(Its a converted P3 Orion, but it has heavier armor).

Today we have launched our assault on Fortress Europe. A UN peacekeeping mission was all that stood between us and Shadowsdale. So at 8:00 am our forces launched an assault on the peacekeepers. Then something went wrong and we were pushed back by shadowsdale forces. Then they launched their own assault and have destroyed 2 main port cities that are neccesicies to insure our trade empire. Therefore we now declare war against Shadowsdale and launch our own assault into their country.

It is a sad day indeed for Shadowsdale. The President John Walters was killed today when a barrage of artillery was purposely aimed at the civilian hospital where the president was being treated for his injuries in flicted by a shell fragment. The vice-president Donald Jefferies has taken the oath of office in Dintron the New capital of Shadowsdale. And this just in Clopton has been captured by Hanchinsu forces and has been burned to the ground. Shadowsdale is reeling from the losses and the vice-president refused to comment.

Shadowsdale, the nation of Archpedia morns with you and offer our condolences in your incredible loss. In Lu of recent events, President Gregory Philips has ordered 700 special operation soldiers (Task-Force Author) to help with the Peace-Keeping Operation.

Newly instated president Donald Jefferies has announced today that 2 commercial airliners carrying 2000 civilians was shot down in the skies above Clopton. All 2000 civilians died without Hanchinsu even attempting to save lives. Also Fortress Europe soldiers have stopped Hanchinsu advances near the port city of Hantun. The fortress Europe soldiers have launched their assault and regained 55 miles of land in 1 day. The city of clopton is now under assault by Fortres Europe.

"Sir the Situation has dramatically changed in Shadowsdale." said General Siler as he paced into the Oval Office. "We have a confermation from the aggressor that they attacked UN peacekeepers and that they killed the President in a civillian hospital."

"Recommendations?" the President said after a moments thought.

"Deploy all of the 6th Infantry and Gear up the rest of IV Army Corps for deployment"

"Agreed. Make it happen General."

King James IV strongly condemns the attack on civilian targets carried out by Shadowsdale forces.

He strongly urges that Shadowsdale cease their attacks on Hanchinsu, and recommends that a diplomatic solution be sought for. Failure to do so will lead to peacekeepers being deployed to forcefully stop the fighting so that emergency talks can be held.

A small rapid deployment task force is being readied for action.

All Hanchinsu assets in the Republic have been seized. All Republic businesses and citizens are being urged to leave Hanchinsu immediately. We are closing our embassy and recalling our ambassador since his safety cannot be ensured given Hanchinsu's obvious disregard for international law.

The situation within Crookfur was getting rahter tense following unconfirmed reports that Crookfur servicemen were amoungst those killed in the recent Shadowsdale/Hanchinsu cross border conflict.

The govenrment remained extrmemely tight lipped with regards to these rumors for several days until this morning when the Prime Minister John Mack made the following statement:

"Freinds and fellow citizens of Crookfur I come to you with sad and serious news. I have the unpleasant duty of confirming that 4 Crookfur Soldiers on secondment to UN peace keeping forces on the Shadowsdale/Hanchinsu border were indeed amoung those who lost thier lives. Myself and the rest of the government join the families and close friends of Captain Jason Andrews, Sergent Fred Collins, Lance Corporal Alexander Stewart and Private Jack McKay in thier grief.

I appologiuse for the lateness of this anouncement and beg your forgiveness but the govenrment do have a solem and serious reason for this. As of 04:00 this morning the 5th naval battle group lead by the newly activated command battleship CNS Lady Victoria have entered waters around the afflicted region and bring with them elements of 65 marine commando. Also as of this moment both the 60th air assault brigade and the 11th light divsion are on alert for immediate deployment to the trouble spot.

I regret this decision but it had to be made and i can only hope that you wish our troops well and that god will be with them.

With the last of the Republic's citizens clear of Hanchinsu, the Republic of Ozymandias IV will send a battle group consisting of two Type 23 Frigates and four Type 42 Destroyers as well as a squadron of submarines to effect a blockade of Hanchinsu's main harbour.

The Navy of the Republic units will keep well clear of CorpSac and Crookfur naval vessels.

Today at 4:00 AM a convoy of mercahnt fishing boats from Fortress Europe enroute to Shadowsdale's ports to trade in thier cath for money was ambushed by a Hanchinsu destroyer group and was completly anniliated. Shadowsdale naval forces were to late to stop the blood shed and condem the attack on neutral vessels.

OOC: I wouldn't worry about the DP the forum gets a little arsed up at this time.

Oh and unless this is an agreed progression i would be careful about declaring other's casualties...

The Crookfur Govenrment offically condems the actions of the Hanchinsu Navy.

Crookfur StratCom contacts representaives of other involved "neutral" nations concerning the establishment of a jointly administered No fly zone.

The Republic of Ozymandias IV would be willing to assist in administering a 'no fly zone' over Hanchinsu.

The carrier Republic will steam toward the region along with a small escort of two Spruance Class Destroyers and two Ticonderoa Class Crusiers. The Republic boasts an air wing of 24 AV-8B Harrier IIs, four MH-60R Strikehawks and two MH-60S Seahawks. She also is carrying 250 Republican Marines.

Four Harriers fly constant patrol over the task force with another four on ready-standby status for immediate launch.

The Republic will not tolerate Hanchinsu's illegal attacks on international peacekeepers or neutral noncombatant vessels.

North Germania is prepared to offer military support of Shadowsdale and all nations serving as peacekeepers. We await your word.

In light of world events (the massive piling in of everyone) USIH Peacekeepers have been turned around in mid transit and have returned to their home bases. Due to many other nations sending combat troops to the area a deployment was deemed too hazardous for those involved with the almost certanty of Friendly Fire incidents and other lethal mistakes. Therefore the President recalled all troops to their bases and all aircraft have been turned around, fuel permitting. The Naval Assets assigned to the area will be departing within the day to seek safer seas.

Today we have launched a major offensive agianst shadowsdale and their allies. The capital city of Clopton has been captured and so have many other important parts of the city. The military has slaughtered many civilians who got in our way. Shadowsdale and its allies are ont he run and their casaulties are mounting. Fortress Europe is in oUr grasp.

OOC: before we continue, soem maps and details of distances would be nice.


IC: In the deep night at sea the flight deck of the carrier CNS Rebel was it's usual state of activity as fighters launch to continue the CAPS required to maintain the the no fly zone (although with the apparant total lack of aircraft on either side many of the missions are being recalled and rearmed for SEAD missions). In one darkened corner of the flight deck the flight crew of a modified Kestrel rotodyne complete final checks and load up for take off as a small group of heavily laden men run across the deck and board the aircraft. A similar scene is repeated onboard other vessels of the battle group as special operations units prepare to launch raids to sieze airfeilds (or stretchs of road) behind the Hanchinsu advnace.

Else where a mixed fleet of Super vulcan bombers assemble high above region awaiting the designated time to launch thier attacks and strike aircraft from the carriers begin forming up into thier mission vectors.

The raiding parties take off and head for thier targets as the timer ticks down. As the final minutes arrive all eyes in the fleet are on the battleship CNS Lady Victoria as she magestically manouvers into position to unleash her terrible fury.

As the final seconds pass many of the Crookfur service men and women mutter prayers for what they must do.

The clock finally ticks to the designated hour and at sea the extrmemely long 12" guns of the Victoria bealch forth thier terrible breath of flame and anger for the first time, ripping the sky appart in a blaze of light and sudden tremendous shockwave the guns fire again (RPM of 5 rounds per minute) adding to the thunder of wrath. Now the guns are joined by the 160mm long rnage guns of the Victoria's secondary batteries and of the attendant lesser vessels and the ripping scream of ciurse missiles arching into the dark sky.

In the air the EW and SEAD Vulcans emit a massive wave of EM energy over the region targeting as many air defense systems as they can find and unleash a wave of precision targeted muntions agaisnt air defense locations in cocnert with CFF-5E double dragons from the fleet air arm.
In concert with this Darkwing tactical bombers (EA-220N JTBs) begin launching stand off muntions against Hanchinsu troop concentrations and targeting armored colums with Brimestone missiles.

Well thats hotting things up, anyway targets in Hanchinsu:
strategic command locations and supply lines within 200km of the coast are getting a pasting from the naval guns valume of fire= 45 12" shells (mix of precision giuded hard target defeat and cluster rounds) and between 100-200 160mm shells (same as above).

50 tomahawk criuse missiles have been launched against airfeilds and air defense command locations

6 electronic warfare super vulcans are jamming your radars and some radio links, 12 SEAD (supression of enemy air defense) super vulcans have been launching a mix of ALARMS anti radiation missiles and JDAM bombs against actual SAM and AAA sites

Tacitcal aircraft in operation consist of 24 Darkwing bombers each launching 12 Brimestone anti tank missiles and 4 cluster bombs or 2 Storm shadow stand off attack missiles against your forward units (total of 144 brimestone, 48 cluster bombs and 24 Storm shadows) and 24 Double Dragon fighters supporting the super vulcans with ALARMS, JDAMS and cluster bombs.

The carrier Republic reaches the area and links up with Navy of the Republic vessels already on station.

A flight of six Harriers begins enforcement of the 'no-fly zone' as Crookfur starts to hammer Hanchinsu targets.

Republic of Ozymandias IV forces will not conduct offensive operations but will attack any Hanchinsu vessel, aircraft or AA unit which behaves in an aggressive manner.

Our forces are at Hanchinsu to enforce an international trade embargo and maintain the no-fly zone over the nation to limit further hostilities. We hope that Crookfur's strike on Hanchinsu targets alerts the Hanchinsu ruling body that the international community is serious about these reported violations of international law.

OOC: Uh, you guys are both three days old. You have like, 100 tank and a single fighter jet with a molotov cocktail in the bomb bay and two .22 caliber rifles wired to the firing system and attached to the wings. You don't even have destroyer groups. If you really want to have a battle, wait a little while, get allied with someone, and if they're a half-good ally, they'll give you stuff. You guys also need to note: Your kinda GM'ing. You don't post other people losses OR attacks. Unless he said he attacked your fishing ships with destroyers, he didn't. Just a guideline.

The Navy of the Republic aircraft carrier Dauntless arrives on station to relieve the Republic which steams off to another world crisis.

The Dauntless carries an air wing of 12 FA2 Sea Harriers, 5 MH-60R Strikehawks and 3 MH-60S Seahawks.

CorpSac, it you give us the frequency of your pilots' emergency beacons, we're willing to mount an SAR mission.

CorpSac Carrier Nacatomi sends the EB frequency to Ozymandias IV along a coded tranmison.

the Ranger Squad Black Knight were gearing up to find the MIA pilots, after they geared up they borded a Hind-d mk VIII, there mission was simple find the pilots EVAC them and get the hell out of the war zone simple mission, but it never went that esayly for any SAR mission.

==Outside the Town of Hanchy==

2 days into fighting to take the town and it was still stalemate. artillary were still bombing the town day and night, small fire fight all over the town.
Commander Jone's was sitting in the command tent. "this op will not work im low on troops and support is not coming i cant risk any more" he sead to the Lt.
"sir we must try if we can take out the Barraks we might beable to push futher into the town" the Lt replyed
"i dont care im still content in pulling and regrouping this town is not that importent" the commander snired back
"sir u know we cant pull back we have to hold the line and take this town" the Lt looked worryed
"thats true, vary well i will give u the 9th platoon and thats t, fail on this then i will be forced to pull back" he sead reluctently
"thank u sir" the Lt walk out

Fights in the town were on an incress, the north quarter was holding the southern had fallen, the east was just barly holding after air stricks and CorpSac forces were pulling back slowly. the west was the only area the 9th had to take but the attack was prociding slowly.
"MORTOR FIRE" a private shouted, the explstions rocked the area, "MOVE MOVE MOVE" the Lt shouted.
there target was the Major holding of Hanchinsu forces, take that and the Hanchinsu force would brake.
the westen quarter was slowly falling to CorpSac, the Hanchinsu HQ was near but the fighiting was getting fearcer. "MEDIC" was a common call with CorpSac forces, MG fire were cutting the men down.
after about 6 hours of fighting the HQ was insight, Building around had Hvy MG nests in them, fire was coming from the Left and right, there was no more Armor it had been lost or withdraw. snipers were cutting the CorpSac forces down. it was no good they had to pull back there numbers were to small.

After 2 more days of fighting CorpSac force pulled back from the town, it was no good they were to well forterfide.

In the combat control center of the Dauntless the pilots' emergency beacon signals were triangulated and handed to the intel officer for his briefing.

Four Sea Harrier pilots and the crews of two MH-60 Seahawks downed large coffees and snacked on muffins while they waited. When the intel officer came in with the latest information, they took their seats.

We're going to run simultaneous missions to rescue CorpSac pilots that have been on the ground for a few days. From the looks of their emergency beacons, these guys are still moving around evading capture but we need to get 'em out as soon as possible.

Flight one will go after the pilot of an F-22 that went down in a wooded area. Your callsign will be Sword Flight. Target callsign will be Scabbard.

Flight two will go after the pilot of MiG that is in some hilly ground. There's not much cover there and enemy units have been operating in the area judging by the radio traffic. Your callsign will be Hammer Flight. Target callsign will be Nail.

Weather over the target area is expected to be overcast and misting with a very low ceiling. Good hunting.

The air crews finished their cold coffee and double checked their notes to ensure that they all had the same information and then headed to the flight deck.

The Sea Harriers and Seahawks leapt into the air from the deck of the Dauntless and dropped down to 250 feet over the ocean, streaking toward the coast along preplanned routes.

When they were within a mile of the coast one jet from each flight climbed to 5,000 feet and went to afterburners, streaking toward the two crash locations with all weapon systems armed.

When they were two miles from the crash sites, they began bobbing and weaving, employing electronic countermeasures to confuse any anti-aircraft defenses. They roared over the crash sites and continued on toward a rally point 5 miles distant.

Rafale Forces have Sailed into striking range of Hanchinsu SAM sites.

[size=12] 0600 hours. A flight of EA-6B Wild Weasal Aircraft, Escoted by 4 F/A-18E Hornets, Lift off of the Rorke's Drift, clearing an area for a forward deployment base. Coming in low and flast, A slew of AGM-88s Anti-Radar Missiles is released. "Things are gonna get ugly..."[size]

*The five man group moved through the undergrowth, one was carrying a soviet SA-16 the others had a mixed group of assault rifles, they were a few kilometres from the crash site. Up in the skies above could be heard aircraft.
The group finally made it to the wood where the aircraft had gone down.*

The SAR helos flared in 800 meters from the crash sites and the pararescue specialists fast roped to the ground and began a quick sprint toward the EB location.

Sgt Emot VI radioed his bird: Sword 3 this is Dagger, I've got a visual on Scabbard. Prepare for exfiltration.

To the downed pilot, he said: Republic of Ozymandias IV, we're here to get you out of here airman. He quickly surveyed his patient for immediate injuries and finding none, he unslung his MP-5 and forced the pilot down behind the available cover. Don't worry. The helo will be on station in a few seconds.

Miles away Sgt Ower II radioed: Hammer 3 this is Mallet, no sign of Nails here. I've got a torn flight suit with his EB still connected but no sign of Nail. Request immediate exfil.

Both helos moved into position and began lowering their baskets to withdraw their men and the downed Nail pilot.

*the man with the SAR watched from 100 metres away, the rescue helicopter began to unwinch a basket.

he steadied his launcher and fired at the helicopter, only 100 metres the helicopter had no chance to evade.

Sgt Emot VI heard the sound of the rocket before he was able to turn and see the tongue of flame streaking toward Sword 3.

Break, break! he screamed into his radio, knowing it was already too late.

The rocket struck the Seahawk in the tailboom and it started to rotate out of control. A crewman operating the winch was thrown from the helo and fell to the ground with a sickening thud. In the cockpit, the pilots frantically tried to regain control of the chopper.

Sword 3 going down the pilot calmly announced as the trees came up to meet them. Leaves and smoke filled the cockpit just before the heavy impact caused the pilot and copilot to loose consciousness.

Sword 2 then began inching toward the crash site looking for muzzle flashes or any other indication of where the SAM team was hiding.

Sword 1 checked where Sword 2 was moving and came in from the opposite direction.

Dauntless to Hammer flight. We've got a Seahawk down. Proceed to Sword location for SAR and CAS.

Hammer 2 and Hammer 3 began to move toward the new crash site as Hammer 1 moved in from its support position heading on the same bearing as Sword 1.

three of the group watched the missile hit and grabbed their AKs. They moved down the slope weaving in and out of trees, heading to the crash site/

the other two reloaded the SAR and moved 50 metres to the west. They could hear the ricochet of incoming rounds but they were wild shots.

the three were close to the first crash site and could hear incoming rounds, they took cover and began to return fire.

Sword 2 saw the muzzle flashes and slowed his Harrier until he saw the SAM team sneaking through the woods.

He fired both 30mm cannons into their direction - rocks, tree bark and dirt flew up obscuring his target as he continued to pump rounds into the vacinity.

The missile travelling exceptionally fast sped towards the harrier, the harrier surely had no time to maneuvre away.*

As the missile reached up toward his aircraft Sword 2, the pilot had no hope of evasive action and jammed the throttle full forward. This Sea Harrier lurched upward sickeningly and then skidded in mid-air when the missile impacted below the left wing.

He was a whirl of motion in the cockpit, attempting to gain control as his plane dropped spinning from the sky.

Sword 2 going down! he shouted before he struck the first tree and his aircraft rolled over and crashed canopy-down into the woodland floor.

Multiple reports of Sword 2's crash arrived at the Dauntless bridge simultaneously. Another SAR helo was dispatched to the area with an escort of four more Sea Harriers.

Sword 1 and Hammer 1 continued to fire after the fleeing figures and while Hammer 2 hovered over the hilltop to provide covering fire for Hammer 3 and the men on the ground.

As Hammer 3 arrived at the second crash site its PJ fast roped down to assist Sgt Emot IV who was working frantically on the door gunner who had fallen from Sword 3 as it crashed.

Seeing there was nothing to be done, he moved to the downed chopper and began pulling the pilot and co-pilot from the wreckage. Both were placed on backboards and winched up to the chopper.

Next it was the CorpSac pilot's turn to be lifted onto the waiting helo.

Finally the body of Sword 3's door gunner was loaded into the basket and brought up.

Sgt Ower II stripped Sword 3 of sensitive materials and then tossed a pair of grenades into the cockpit to finish the job and then ran to join the other PJ who was running toward the downed Sea Harrier.

The radio in Hammer 3 crackled to life:
Hammer 3 this is Dauntless return to base with cargo. Falcon flight is inbound with SAR team Charlie.

The pilot of Hammer 3 relayed the information to the PJs on the ground and then turned toward home with a single Sea Harrier flying escort.

On the ground, the PJs worked with small shovels as they tried to recover the body of the Harrier pilot. The nose of the plane had dug into the earth making the going very difficult.

When they had cleared enough dirt, they began to hack at the canopy with their shovels breaking a hole large enough to crawl into to retrieve the body. As they pulled the pilot free of the wreckage the roar of the Falcon flight was heard overhead.

A third PJ fast roped into the crash scene and helped secure the pilot to the basket, riding back up with it in violation of all regulations.

Sergeants Ower II and Emot IV removed all sensitive materials from the downed Harrier and then blew the cockpit with grenades.

A pair of slings came down from the chopper and they both left the scene, blood-stained and filthy with sweat, grease and dirt.

With the PJs return to Falcon 5, all Republic of Ozymandias IV aircraft left the area, but not before the Falcon flight aircraft blasted the downed Republican aircraft with rockets and bombs to leave nothing for the enemy.

The sunrise came, and the beams of light hit the deck of the amphibouis Assualt ship Wasp. Walking out of the chaplin's room, the pilots readied for flight. AH-1Z Super Cobras, AV-8B Harriers, CH-46 Sea Knights, and MH-53s were all full of fuel and armed to the teeth for the landing.

the place that they have to get to is the town i lost in one of my earlyer post.

IC: they sent off towards the town, they had reports of gurrila attack on surpply lines and such and this was a vry well defended town. they attack force that was attacking it had to pull back due to to high in kills.
