This may be a bit out of place but how many people do I need to start a remotely-funded space colony? Or, more to the point, become a space colony? I have at least one country that will fund me I just need to know if it will be accepted as legit.

Any nation can start out as whatever they want, be it a space nation a nation that exists in prehistorical times, midieval times, whatever. As long as the colony doesn't immediately start out with some of the most advanced technology, then it will be considered legit. How much money are you asking for?

We aren't really aswking for money but it will be helpful. We do not plan to start out with battlecruisers and all that jazz anyway. Your country was created on my birthday. :D
