This morning the motorcade of President SHEVARDNADZE was attacked with rocket proppelled grenades while travelling through the streets of Tblisi. Although the President has surived many attempts on his life, his luck ran out and although he survived the initial damage to his armour plated Mercedes, a massive crowd of demontsrators prevented abulances from for reaching him in time, leading to his death.

Less than an hour later the leader of the Georgian Republican Party , David BERDZENISHVILI was sworn into office and his first action was to delcare a state of emergency. All military forces have been ordered to enforce a curfew and T-72 tanks now patrol the city.

Although no group has claimed responsibilkity for this crime, it seems that a number of groups could be responsible including islamic extremist groups, the Georgian United Communist Party or the United Front. This event also follows three days of constatnt demonstartion against teh results of earlier elections and it is not known ewhether this is related.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry has advised that all foreigners leave the country and foreign diplomats either evacuate or remain in their embassies until the situation resolves itself.

(BTW anybody can say assume have an embassy if they like)

Due to a rise in the budget alowance for our Armed Forces, we are now in a position to send 30 Challenger Main Battle Tanks, 50 APC's and 20 BMP's to help enforce the curfew placed on your citizens. OOC: Why do nations depends on other nations peacekeepers to defend them when the nation could use its own military first. Personally i see that as one of two things 1) laziness on the part of the nation requesting help, or 2) weakness which could be exploited by warmongering imperialist nations. I think you should at least try to show a little bit of independence before asking the international community for help. Thats how Credonia has been, I dont like going to the allies for help unless its absolutly needed, or i refuse offers from other nations who want to send in peacekeepers to help us We have a massive military, we dont need help ;-) but thats just my opinion on things

OOC: true, but why do you MAYBE need peacekeeprs just because your president was assasinated. I was victim of an assasination attempt (thank god my presidential palace has bullet proof windows) but for somethign like this, there really isnt a need for international intervention unless there was a MAJOR battling going on within your nation and the peope you are fighting are as strong as your military, then peacekeepers would be needed.

It has been confirmed that thirty five minutes ago a loud explosion occured in the Western part of Downontown Tblisi near an apartment block that is believd to house senior military officials and intelligence personnel. Currently casualties are unknown although it is thought tha only two were killed. However this will do little for he nation's stability which remains in question after todays assination of the head of state.
The new government has so far made no comment on the blast but it is belived that most of the 14,000 (RL Figure) or so troops in the Gerogian Army will be mobilised in the coming days.

Your FOre is not accepted, in fact no international peacekeepers will be acccpeted until it si neccessary but thank you for the offer. You are obviously allowed to reinforce protection of your embassy if your nation feels this necessary.

Credonia:

Georgia has been on the brink of civil war (nearly had one last week RL) for years and has always been assumed that if the incumbent President was removed for any reason, huge instability and violence would follow. In addition our military consists of only 14,000 men, and loyalty to the government is questionable.

The 1st Task Force wouldnt deploy then. the carrier battle group of the aircraft carrier Defiant will deploy to the international waters near Georgias terratorial waters.

The battle group consists of
1 Aircraft Carrier(Defiant)
2 Battleships
5 Frigates
1 submarine
5 gunships
4 supply vessels

Its international water and i can deploy forces there. Also the USN is deploying one SEAL team of 60 men and women to protect our embassy which is sovereign Nighthawk soil.

If we see the need for it more assets can be deployed. Also dont hesitate to ask for our help from our forces

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF BOA VISTA MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

The President of the Commonwealth, under the powers entrusted in him as the Executive Admiral of the Commonwealth Armed Forces, is sending 10,000 soldiers into Georgia to restore order. Troops will be deployed at the cities of Tbilisi, Sukhumi, Batumi and Tskhinvali.

In addition, aircraft carrier Beira, with 20 helicopters and 20 fighters, are near the coast of Georgia to assist in peacekeeping operations. The Commonwealth of Boa Vista is now requesting entry permission and permission to build base in the above said cities.

Before the approval, 100 marines were sent to Commonwealth Embassy in Tbilisi to protect the staff there.

If Georgia would like our sending of arms to your nation we would be glad to send, but the answer of neither no or yes is becoming annoying. My nation's stance may not stay the same, we are in the middle of an election, reply before we pull our resources. :evil:

The USN is ordering the evac of all USN embassy staff. The Embassy is being closed down. The SEAL team that was deployed there is being brought back home. Carrier Battle Group Defiant is also being withdrawn to home waters. The embassy will remain closed untill the situation in Georgia is stable again.

The Dipim Colonies have many specail needs secret agents and will send 25 to Georgia to restore order. They do not need guns, they are swift and sly and sneaky and use a variety of knives. Please accept this, it may be needed :!:

Yesterday's terrorist attack and assasination were apparently the work og an islamic terror group known as the 'Georgian Special Islamic Regiment'.
Today a press release by the Minitry of Security stated that this group sent a written threat last night promising to firstly, 'eradicate all foreigners within Georgia' before 'cleansing the native infidels'. Intelligence sources belive that this group is a spin off the Chenchrn Special Islamic Regient that have penetrated the border to detup training ca,ps within Georgia's Northern mountains. The aim of theis group is to make the Caucasus Region, 'part of the Islamic Kingdom'.

In Tbliss today strict curfews are being relaxed although soldiers will continue to patrol alongisde police until the new government has stabilised. The leader of the Communist Party said today that, 'We could disagree more with the government and if our nation is under attack we should do something, this government will do nothing because it is getting weaker and weaker, only after fresjh elections will we accept it.' .
