Austar Union

In the Senate Chambers:
Senator Fergerson (Defense): "It is time that we once and for all re-unite the country. For too long we have stood by and allowed the south to remain under their horrible dictatorship, which had risen up from the cold/civil war."
Senator Lennwick (Intelligence): "Sir, with great respect of course, exactly how do you propose to do this? NSA reports show that South Austar has control over two nuclear missiles, and an infantry comprised of sixty-million monkeys - specially trained for combat"
Senator Fergerson (Defense): "Well as you may or may not know Senator, our power infustructure is still networked with the south, so if we were to say, cut off their power supply, there would be wide-spread blackouts in the south."
Senator Lennwick (Intelligence): "Senator Fergerson, I believe that will not cut the power to their missile facility. Our facilities are always provided with a back-up generator, you know that. They have already warned us that if anything major happens they will reign nuclear devestation upon our cities."
Senator Fergerson (Defense): "I would like to present to the Senate a dossier conatining the information which our military stategists have put together."
[Dossier gets handed out to Senators]
Senator Fergerson (Defence): "I would like to point out that this plan is pretty much fail-proof. It would however be a fast operation, but I think our teams can handle it, re-uniting the nation once and for all."
Senator Newport (Foreign Minister): [while looking over the dossier] "That is unless another nation decides to step in and protect southern soveriegnty."
Senator Fergerson: "They have no right to soveriegnty! They are a part of us! They are not an independant nation! Idiot..."
Speaker of the House: "Senator Fergerson, the Senate was created ofr discussion, not vicious slandering. You are given your first of three warnings!"
Senator Newport (Foriegn Minister): "Senator Fergerson, although that is how we view the situation, the international community may in fact recognise southern independance. If they choose to take action, we do not want our international reputation tarnished. Nor do we want to get involved in a war against a multi-national coalition."
Senator Fergerson (Defense): "Certainly sir, that is why you are here Mr. Senator. It is your department's job to notify the world of our intentions."
Speaker of the House: "Are there any more comments on this issue?"
[Only silence can be heard in the Senate]
Speaker of the House: "Motion to vote."
[All 150 Senators vote on their touch-screens and the results are tabled on a large projector]
Speaker of the House: "95 vote yes, 55 vote no. Proposal passed. Motion to notify the President"
...
At the President's Office
[The phone begins to ring]
Presidential Secretary: "Hello, President's Office?"
Senate Negotiator: "Fax direct to President from the Senate please."
Presidential Secretary: "Yes sir."
[The secretary dials a number on her phone]
[Inside the President's Office, President William A. Sherman is sitting at his dek eating lunch when the phone buzzes]
Presidential Secretary: "Sorry to interrupt you sir. Fax direct from the Senate."
President Sherman: "Don't worry Noreen, I was getting bored anyway. Send it through"
Presidential Secretary: "Yes sir."
[The President leans over as his fax machine prints out the proposal made by the senate to re-take the south. He picks it up and reads it]
President Sherman: "It's about time they decided to address this issue. Hmmm, seems OK to me..."
[He picks up his pen and signs the dotted line, authorising the event to take place, and sends it back to the senate chambers.]
...
In the capital of South Austar
It is midnight, and due to newly enforced curfews, the city sleeps soundly. the whole city appears to be lit up completly, and almost appears to be beautiful. All of a sudden, the lights across the city brighten up. Explosions can be heard all over the city as a massive power surge rips throughout the entire national power network. Just as suddenly, all the lights and power short out, and the whole of South Austar is left without electricity, and multiple blown power control boards.
ooc: You can join the RP if you want, just always remember that South Austar is actually me, just under a different name for RP reasons.
