The Shildonian Flying Corp today announced that the Valkyrie bomber was to be withdrawn from frontline duties, after almost 40 years of service. Most of the SFCs 271 Valkyries will be distributed to museums around the world, although five will be used for continued research into high speed flight. An SFC Press Liasion Officer explained that 40 years of flight at speeds of up to Mach 3 had led to huge amounts of fatigue, and that it was no longer economical to keep up the expensive maintenenance necessary to keep the Valkyries in the air.
There then followed the rolling out ceremony of the new B-6 "Venona" supersonic bomber. This variable geometry bomber is due to enter service over the next five years. Powered by two Rolls Royce Trent 890 engines, the Venona is capable of travelling at around 1000kph, or 2000kph at high altitude without the use of reheat. Because of this, the Venona is capable of flying over 10,000km without refueling, although this distance can be greatly increased with the use of mid-air refuelling. The exact amount of ordance that can be carried by the Venona is classified, but it is believed to be more than 35,000kg.
Finally, the prototype Venona took to the skies for a breathtaking display of its capabilities, during which a Valkyrie joined up with the Venona for a flypast, much to the delight of the gathered specators.

To, start with Trent 890s are high bypass turbofans, only good for airliners basically.

Secondly 'Venona' was an NSA project of intereceptng Soviet Cryptology in the 1940s and 1950s I believe.

thirdly, how much are these B-70s?

They produce a lot of thrust without afterburners, which helps with fuel consumption, and probably does lots of other cool stuff as well.
Correct, although MI5 were in on it as well.
Since you got the answer right you can have one free, otherwise the museum pays for delivery. If you want to use them for military purposes, they'll cost £10million Shildonian Pounds, but you'd need to do a pretty expensive refit on them to make them any where near airworthy.

We don't require it to be combat capable but flyable would be nice for displays etc.
