Aide: Mr. President, you can not possibly dismiss the issue on the Woodchip export industry! Joining the UN has severely weakened the sector, and this worker strike for higher wages will drive the nation into poverty!
President: Ah, but what can I do? MY ideals dictate to me that I can not make a decision! This government was not placed here to support either workers or business heads. Both have strong cases, and I can not support either as I do not know what would be better for the people of Quanda!
Aide: Do something! The people will see you as apathetic to the worker cause! Allowing Nazi group to demonstrate on our territory has already weakened your popularity, and this will lower your standing.

Now, an ABC poll has concluded that 60% of the voters are in favor of recalling current the President. There is no strong opposition candidate, though. Currently leading the opposition vote, with 7% of the voters, is Rev. James Johnson.
Also, 80% of the population also said they favor joining the worldwide socialist revolution sponsored by Anchar and Shalabolong. Mr. President had obviously voted against this measure and also threatened war against any NWTS(Nuclear weapons test site) country that joined the revolution.
Many people are also angry at the Confederacy of Magical Elven Gnomes. This nation negotiated a deal with Quanda to create a “constitution” for the NWTS. Basically, the Gnomes became the UN delegate, and Quanda was forced to join the UN and endorse the Gnomes. In exchange, Quanda received command of all military forces in the NWTS,.

President: My fellow Quandans. I come, asking for your forgiveness, but also present new information.
Many of you are angry over the NWTS protocol. I do not know why. Quanda would have joined the United Nations, an organization dedicated to bettering the world, eventually. Why not now?
Not only that, but we receive command over all NWTS military forces. Why not gain some advantage to something that we would already do?
On the issue of the Nazi rally, ALL people are entitled to free speech, not just people expressing the popular view. My job is to ensure that these rights are protected. Not allowing the Nazis to demonstrate would be a direct violation of the ideals of Quanda, something I could not allow.
When it comes to the idea of the Woodchip industry, I did what I was supposed to do. I let the private economy fix itself.
It has worked in the past. It is the workers jobs, not mine, to fight for the workers. I had decided to side with the workers, a cause I sympathize with, I would have limited the economic growth of Quanda forever.
Look what we have now. We are the most advanced nation in the region, with the strongest military and powerful economy.
In accordance with the ongoing threats to remove me from power, I am announcing the suspension of the Recall option indefinitely in order to secure our future. What is right is not always popular. I am doing what is best for Quanda, and because it is not popular, I am to be thrown out of office.
It will not be allowed.
In addition, I anticipate an increase in crime. Therefore, I am giving police permission to install cameras and monitor the streets. This is no attempt to spy on certain people. Rest assured, we already could have done this by planting spies that you would not even notice at every street corner.
Also, in order to show that I am not on the side of the corporations, I am hereby eliminating all forms of campaign funding by corporations! Money has no place in politics, and buying votes will not be tolerated.
I also am authorizing the use of stem-cell research.
Yes, I hear the cries from those that say I am killing children.
But am I really?
Yes, we can say how horrible it was for these people to die, but do the embryos know? They will never gain the true sentience of life, and will never “lose” their lives.
However, if we let people die by giving into religious fanaticism, we WILL have people losing something. We WILL have people crying and mourning over the lost of a loved one, and society WILL lose a productive and important member.

Amy boarded the subway like she did every other Saturday. She was in a rush to get home. Between the rigors of business school and a job in a local 7-11, she was spent, and was in no mood to help out her 13 year-old brother when she got home.
Natasha sat calmly. The aging widow reminisced about the good times of her life…when Jerry did not have cancer, before her son died of leukemia, when everything was good in the homeland. She did, of course, know that she could do nothing to change the past, and had little idea of what her future would be.
Mike and Melinda did their usual…practice, engrossed in each other and not concerned about anything going on around them. The newly-weds were very happy. They had known each other since the 6th grade, and Melinda was already carrying Mike’s child. The baby boy, two months away from birth, gave another kick to his mother, unaware of what was happening in the world.
No one noticed the man in a trench coat that walked onto the train with a strangely large briefcase.
And no one knew what hit them

Anchor: This is ABC Breaking News. A large explosion was seen and heard in central Qri, our nation’s capital. The government has no official suspects and no official comments at this time. Apparently, a bomb destroyed the 7th line Subway at approximately 9 P.M. Causalities are unknown, but police radios are reporting that at least 20 bodies have been pulled from the ashes, and 50 have been transported to hospitals around the city. We do not know when the government will res….BREAKING! The President is prepared to issue and official declaration. We go there now.
President: My fellow Quandans….our young nation has been hit by an unnamed, faceless, and cowardly enemy. We have heard about the horrors of terrorism in recent years; well, now we have seen and know the fears of terror.
Some of you may have lost loved ones in the blast, and many others may be fearing for your children’s lives.
But, I assure you, we will not retreat, and will not falter. The Republic of Quanda was put forth to protect the rights of individuals, including the right to life. These terrorist could have filed a complaint with the government, started a petition, or waited for election year.
Instead, the preferred to kill innocent people, people would probably did not even support me! We do not yet know who attacked us, or why, but Quanda will retaliate against our foes, wherever they arise.
