Joint Press Release Press Release from Office of Foreign Affairs and Office of the St. George's Isles Armed Services:
"After much research and money, the department of Military Research and Development has developed a gas turbine engine for use by the St. George's Isles military.
"The Model 1A diesle powered Gas Turbine Engine has been used as the power generator for the St. George's Isles new Light Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LAMPV-1) the "Fortis."
"The "Fortis" is a chasis type with modular components that currently includes an Infantry Fighting Vehicle, a Self Propelled Artilliary, and aReconassaince/Electronic Warfare configuration. Simplified schematics are available by request. (e-mail required)
"The basic chasis is 7.5 meters in length, 2 meters in height, with .5 meter ground clearance. Basic Chasis has a crew of three: Commander, Driver and Gunner, which sit at the front of the vehicle on top of the transmission. It has a 4 speed transmission, three foreward, one reverse. Basic weapons are the Gunner's machine gun (.50) and the commander's grenade launcher (40mm). It is a tracked vehicle with two independant gas turbines, one for each tread. Each turbine creates approximately 1,500 horsepower. Sufficient power to move the 45 metric ton chasies at 120 kph (75 mph) on road and 64 kph (40 mph) off road. Exhaust is run through a heat dissipation system before being vented out the back. It has a max effective range of 800 kilometers (without support).
"It has moderate armor with the lugs for both reactive armor and composite armor blocks. (sold separately)
"In IFV configuration a turret with one 30mm autocannon served by a gunner and a loader (in a sealed compartment away from the ammunition) is added to the top of the chasis. Room for twelve soldiers and a crew-chief are placed in the cargo area. There are three exits: left, right, and rear; allowing for rapid disembarking. In addition to the 30mm autocannon, the turret carries a coaxial .30 machinegun and and a second 50 cal for the loader. Two "hellcat" laser-guided anti-armor/aircraft missiles ride on the back and are fired and controlled from the gunner's targetting reticle. Speed is reduced to approximately 100 kph and range to 560 kilometers
"In SPA configuration the roof of the cargo compartment is replaced with a retractable panel and a 120mm howitzer on a sliding carriage is placed in the hold with it's ammo. An advanced communication system links to the EW Fortis or another foreward observer. The howitzer is crewed by five people and can fire any 120mm round including HE, Cluster, incendiary, flare, and FASCAM (St. George's Isles does not sell FASCAM mines to UN nations in recognition of the recent ban). Top speed is reduced to 80 kph and range to 480 kilometers.
"In EW configuration the turret area is filled with an Electronics and communication system including satlink, radar, jammers, IR systems, and extra dissipation for the turbine engine. EW is particularly adept at forward observation for SPA as the laser designator is identicle to that used by SPA for direct attack. EW maintans the 120 kph and 800 kilometer range.
"St. George's Isles wishes to make this excelent weapon's system available to the democracies of the world starting at 150,000 Georgians ($120,000 USD) with one year technical support and a one year warranty on parts and lanbor. Warranty excludes loss in combat or other circumstances under which loss is expected. E.G, one of your cargo ships gets torpedoed with the Fortis aboard."
