AUF2 - BEST VALUE SELF-PROPELLED GUN (1)
Cost 10000 USD each

-Mission-

In 1978, Crossbone Industries introduced the 155 AUF1 turret with 155 mm/39-calibre ordnance.
The AUF1 features:
- fully automatic loading of shells and combustible cartridge cases,
- onboard navigation and fire-control systems,
- reduced gun crew.
The turret is suitable for fitting to a variety of chassis such as the AMX-30, T-72, Arjun or Leopard.
The main operational advantages provided by the AUF1 focus on:
- firepower, with higher rates of fire and reduced manning,
- survivability, through shortened engagement duration and dispersal of guns on the terrain,
- costs, with reduced men, logistic and equipment requirements.
450 AUF1 turrets have been fielded and fitted to the AMX-30 chassis. They have been extensively
involved by Crossbone and overseas Forces in a number of theatres of operations, notably in the Bosnian
peacekeeping mission.
The innovative solutions of the AUF1 are regarded as a reference for modern self-propelled artillery systems.
Crossbone Industries is now developing the AUF2 version (52 calibres) which has been ordered by the Crossbone
Army.
The new advances incorporated into the AUF2 turret include:
- range (155 mm/52-cal. NATO ordnance conforming to JB MoU and firing 10 rds/min up to a 42 km
range),
- automated management of laying and loading operations (shells + charges),
- MRSI capability (Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact),
- protection (rapid engagement and gun safety).
The AUF2 turret uses mass-produced industry components and benefits from equipment being common
to the AUF1s and CAESAR®s.
The AUF2 turret is a very cost-effective solution to convert 46 tonne-class tanks into a high performance
self-propelled gun. The acquisition cost can be considerably cut and logistics simplified as a result of the
chassis commonality.
