From a secure bunker under the Credonian Presidential Palace, President Sutton Addresses the nation again

Good Evening Fellow Credonians. One NS hour ago, an assassination attempt was made against myself as you saw on television. This assassination attempt was not only directed against me, it was also against the whole of Credonia and everything it stands for. This Obviously planned attack was meant to not only bring about humiliation upon my family, but the Presidency of the United States of Credonia.

This terrorist attack was not a result of a slip up within our intelligence agency as some of the media has been speculating. In fact, the terror level was raised to Yellow (elevated state of alert) after being tipped off by an anonymous source ( OOC: See this thread for proof: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99744 ) . The only thing we could not determine when and where the strike was to occur. What we did know was that the terrorist was from the nation of Terristan. We will be dealing with this nation most seriously in the coming days. We will also deal with the ‘A Corp’ terrorist organization which we suspect had something to do with this failed assassination attempt.

Now let me just stop and say this in conclusion, you terrorists are doing nothing but fueling a burning urge within me and the Credonian people, the urge to want to seek out and destroy you dirty, cowardly, insignificant, barbaric, uneducated, self-serving, detestable pieces of low life scum. What you people don’t realize is that I cant die. I may be killed in the physical sense with ease, but my people will forever remember me and the legacy have and will continue to leave until the day I die. They will follow in my footsteps and they too will seek out and destroy you people.

The Atlantic Region hereby supports the people of Credonia in their fight against these terrorist factions and with their approval, we wich to move the 2nd Army and our Air Assault Forces into their country to aid their soldiers. Terristan... if you knew anything about anything it is easy to tell where someone is from...

When the forensic officers survey it all they will pick up plant fibres and other coutnry related items. ANy good intelligence agency will have a dta file on every countrys plants.

BUt of course in this case the van blew up. This makes it harder but not impssible. Because the heat is so powerfull the seeds and other plant materials blow up leaving certain patterns. WHich can also be matched.

There were fewer cameras then usual, though that was explainable by the fact that the news channels were now working together to save money. Not that it mattered. Walking up to the platform, Terrus began his short speech.

There is not much to go on as the terrorist was killed on the presidents orders, however, we do have leads which we will be checking out.

We do not believe that any nations allied to us have ties with A-Corp however we will persue this matter further. The USIH has in the past conducted wars against terrorists and drugs and so these may have been responsible.

The USSK feel that we must reveal that we have held a suspected terrorist formerly of the nation of Terristan in the headquarters of the KSP (Kamerovian Sekret Polizei) for some time now. The Republic of Ozymandias IV accepts Terristan's confirmation of its role in the attack upon Credonia.

The Republic's armed forces shall be placed on highest alert and reserves are being called up to aid Credonia in its hour of need. Civilised nations must take a stand against these rogue states and their terrorist allies.

All businesses and citizens of the Republic are being urged to immediately leave Terristan and all Terristan assets within the Republic shall be frozen until this crisis is resolved.

After recieving the message from the Terristani government, President Sutton raised military forces to DEFCON 2 (HIGH ALERT). F-16's also took off all over the country to protect Credonian skies from attack, and anti-terrorist military forces were dispatched to major Credonian cities. Security all around the country was tightened as the President prepared for military action.

It seems we have found that the Terristan government indeed had a role in the assasination attempt and are now threatening our people. We cannot and will not tolerate threats such as these. Secretary of State Lauren Smith: Sir, i believe its time we bring in our allies and mobilize our troops. Also, even though their threat holds merit, if we closed the borders to all foreigners then we should be alright. The F-16's you have in patrol over the nation should be sufficient enough to handle any terror attacks in the air. On a side note sir, I believe we should prepare our non-nuclear ICBM divisions housing ICBM's with conventional and chemical warheads. If they want terror, we will show them terror. We have to show them that we are hardline and will not give in to their absurd demands just because they are seen as a threat.

President Sutton: Alright. Lets do it. General Ferguson, put all ICBM divisions equipted with conventional, biological, and chemical warheads to DEFCON 3.

Very well, our threat is retracted, however, we were justified in killing the terrorist with our military forces. No one dare try to kill the president and expect to see the light of day again.
