OOC: Before i begin, a little background into the Triumvirate's government. The main government is led by 3 people, the Praetor, who runs all public affairs and much of the bureaucracy of the government; he also leads the Triumvir's Council, the governing body that makes all policy decisions; the Praetor is by far the most powerful man in the government. The Proconsul leads the Consulate, an elected group that runs provincial government; and the Overseer General, who runs the nation's military. All 3 positions are held by the same person until that person resigns; the Proconsul and Overseer General have gone through several people, but the Praetorial office has been held by the same man through all 42 years of the Triumvirate's history.

The Triumvirate was founded 42 years ago, and it has always been led by one of the greatest men that many in the nation had ever seen, the incorruptable Elijah Marris. We received news this morning that due to health issues, the 71-year-old Praetor is relinquishing his position. Though there are no specifics on the forementioned health issues, it is believed that heart problems and severe arthritis are the frontrunners. The Praetor released a statement this morning, pointedly and summarily giving us a final word before returning to his life of seclusion. The explicit orders were to not view the message at all, and to air it without screening, live for the public to view. We present this to you now, unedited.

My loyal citizens of the Triumvirate, I thank you all for your continuous support of my government, throughout struggles and turmoil. We have gone through the building days of the government, through our brief encounter with the Stonie occupation; and through the recent war in Bigmenistan. Through it all you have stood behind me, supporting me in all my actions. Our nation has grown from being a small colony in the Hyarmendorath region, into the most powerful economy in all of the Jaxus Kingdom. Our Tritanium-for-Jax program with Jaxusism has led to much fruitful research for science. Our Entendre's are widely accepted as the safest, fastest car in history. We have prospered.
I wished to stay in my office through the Bigmenistan conflict, and I succeeded. This was helped by the quick defeat of the Opressor nation. Although I leave the next 12 years of occupation to my replacement, I expect that all will go well and our nation's greatness will continue to shine.
I am growing old, however. My days with you are limited. I can no longer function as Praetor. Which is why, on December 5, our nation will hold its first ever Praetorial election. This election is open to anyone over the age of 16. The voting booths will be contained in our economic centers. Thank you for your support once again. I leave you now.
