Commodore D'rtang of the Valient Royal Navy watches on the bridge of the VRN Heavy Carrier Vidion, which is in Stealth Mode 1 (Near-invisible). The carrier drifts silently 100 km outside of the international waters. He turns to address his bridge crew.

"Ladies and gentlemen, do you know why we are here?"

*Murmers and shaking of heads.

"We are here... because it is our destiny. Gentlemen, you are the best that the Commonwealth of Valient has to offer, and today, and in days to come, you will be called upon to sacrifice for Valient, all so that she may live on.

Men, you may be confused about what I am talking about. Why don't I show you?"

*D'rtang turns around and flips open a simple red box. There is a switch underneath. He flips it, and a screen flips down in front of the crew. A small red blip flashes.

"Gentlemen, this is the newest in technology that Valient has to offer.

This... is the Omega Pulse. No, you don't know about it. Top Secret project that has been in the works for the better part of the decade.

At any rate, it works on the principal of the electrical magnetic pulse, which fries electrical units. Well, this goes one better: it fries everything Duronium, steel, uranium, nothing stops this pulse, and it cuts right through people too. Picture this: a thousand poor souls on the any given ship, or APC or even a city, writhing in agony as each and every node in their brain is systematically shortcircuited. And once its all done, theres no need to pick up any survivors!

However... this sort of murder and mayhem is beneath us, is it it not?"

*Nodding of heads all around.

"That is why we are not going to be operating this peice of ordinance ourselves. We are going to sell it off to the highest bidder. I want terrorists, meglomaniacs, dictators, and any country who want a piece of the pie in on this, gentlemen. What you have just seen was a test. A test of the might of the Omega Pulse. Just to prove that we weren't just blowing steam!

The Omega Pulse is located within the lower orbit, men. and isn't going anywhere. President Valient wants to start the bidding at $1000 billion. Why don't we wait for a buyer?"

*Laughter erupts.

High above on board ZEUS, Fuggolia orbiting Spacedock/intelligence station, Senior intelligence staff are monitoring the situation.

The Commander comments:

"I've informed Maulan, we cannot allow a young brash nation like Valient to use such a devicemuch less sell it, He has ordered me to dispatch a Longbow Corvette/ Tug to retrieve this device, apparently the forth fleet is moving to within striking range of the Valient fleet to intercept them should they attempt some form of intervention, although it is unlikely the have the capability"


Fuggolian statement to Valient:

Why we wish your people no harm, we request that you dismantle Omega, a Fuggolian Corvette has been dispatched to retrieve and dismantle it, we cordially invite other nations to watch dismatlement.
If the corvette is attacked by Omega, or any other Valient weapon, we will begin strikes against your Military/Industrial complex. We also wish to dispatch weapons inspectors to make sure all research on omega is destroyed.

Fuggolian statement to Valient:

*Aboard the VRN Heavy Carrier Vidion, Admiral D'rtang plays back the warning message from Fuggolian once more... He is quiet, and then laughs.

"Do these Fuggolians know who they are dealing with. We are Valient! We will not be pushed around by anyone!"

"Ummm, sir, I'm uh... private... Jamison. Inteliigence reports that Fugglia has a population of over 1.2 billion. Do you think that we really have a chance at defending ourselves against such power?"

"Of course, private. You see, here is the glory of it all. Soon we will have nations all over the world clamering, fighting for the Omega Pulse. With them onside, we can take on anyone. And of course, there is always the Omega Pulse.

*D'rtang glances over at the Rader display. A large group of red blips siginifying the Fugglian fourth fleet amass within 500 km of the port bow. A single blip signifying a Fuggolian Corvette approaches slowly.

"Do you think the world needs another demonstration?"

*With a low, rumbling laughter, D'rtang reaches over and flips the red switch of the Omega Pulse. With deft typing, the Admiral sets the coordinates for the position of the fourth fleet. He launches it without a second thought.

*Within seconds, a loud roar can be heard reverbrating through the Vidion. The boat is rocked slightly by the shockwaves. The mass of red blips on the radar screen disappear.

"Private, I'd like you to send a message to the Fuggolian Corvette. Have it read: You may tell your leader that he may start the bidding. If not, he will have to suffer the consequence."

*D'rtang laughs, as word comes through on all channels of nations already clamoring to place their bids.

OOC: Nope. its just a shockwave. The blast is very centralized on the coordinates that were set. This includes the brain electrocution. Of course, the xplosion sets off displaced energy, which has no place to go but out. The VRN Heavy Cruisers can withstand such waves, especially at a distance at 500 kms. The boat just rocks with it.

Mean while in space the rudimenty space warships of fuggolia spread out as not to be all caught by omega and launch every thing they have, whilst fuggolias Earth Based ICMS are launched at it also.

Well, the omega pulse schematics are still up for sale. All nations can bid on it on this forum.

What is the nature of this 'omega pulse', and what, exactly, does it do? EMPs are increadibly easy to shield against.

And yeah, I imagine most people would just blow it up rather than bid on it.

We may have an offer, depending on wheather or not you can supply specifics, so we can do a proper assessment on it's value.

Valient is ranked 1st in the region of the Alliance of Hell Angels and 2,144th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.

This is the number one reason that Valient has been able to lure so many military scientists and developers into the country. OUr "recruited scientists come from nations that have been torn apart from wars, scientists who are facing persecution for their creations, and scientists who are looking for a country to develp in peace.

Before these scientists can enter however, they must show us some of their works, and any projects in progress. In exchange for the rights to any creations, the scientists are given a top-notch facilities and assistants, an unlimited resource fund, and free rein on their project. It is surprising at how many really do just want to develop new technology.

About ten years ago, a scientist who was escaping the law in his old country applied for sanctuary in Valient. He had the early framework for the Omega Pulse, and the rest is... history?

Yes, the pulse is a weapon of mass destruction, and may be used in the quest for world domination. However, because Valient is not ready for such domination, we are putting the weapon up on the auction block in the hopes of bolstering Valient's economy. We will of course keep the original design.

It is really simple: bid on the weapon, and retain one of the most powerful weapons at this point in time. Do not, and risk one day down the road looking at the ruins of a destroyed capital. (Jahagyar, looking at you. :wink: )

The Omega Pulse will be up for auction on another forum within the next couple of days. All of the details on how it works, and schematics of it will be available at that time.

At this point in time, Valient has not been able to contact his allies in the Allaince of hell angels. therefore, we will not be able tp attack anyone. Would you really want to attack a defensless nation?

It's not really a prototype, in that though it is our first, and a complete sucess. Howeverm though it was destroyed, Valient government officials still hold all plans and schematics for the Omega Pulse. We are able to produce another one within 72 hours.

If you want, we can supply your country with omega pulse's at half-price If you are willing to cease you threats. We want to work this out, but we will not give up the weapon. Please respond. Wouldn't it be better if we were allies. We could supply your country exclusively, and you could go on a rampage. Sounds good?

If you offer to sell it to another country and proceed along those lines of action, the nation of Indra Prime will be forced to respond against Valient with no mercy. Indra Prime, we are making esentially the same demands; you're just being more lenient, only targeting strategic targets and actually offering to pay him, while we're only offering to not nuke him until his nation glows. His conceeding to your demands would, however, be acceptible, so long as we had the opertunity to review all surrended information and material befor it's destruction.

Hurm; on second thought, I think I'll try out those neutron bombs(actually, this omega pulse does sound a bit like a directed neutron weapon), that way we can salvage their research and other assets intact.

Greetings. I am the High Sultan of Inshallah. I am a member of the five-nation Alliance of Hell Angels Council, and am currently seeking appointment as its Chairman. I wrote our Constitution and regularly talk with all other members of our Council. I am highly influential in our region.

I am deeply shocked by the actions of the Commonwealth of Valient. I had no knowledge of the Omega Pulse project at any level. Our military intelligence was not even aware he has sattellites. His offer to sell the Omega Pulse to the highest bidder is a grave threat to the national security of all nations in the world. His attack on naval forces in his area was also deeply shocking. I condemn his behavior, and I would have opposed his membership in our Alliance if I could have forseen such unfortunate events.

I am making demands that are at the end of this wire to Valient and urge you to follow my lead on these demands. If you have had any casualties by Valient, I assure you we will squeeze restitution out of him. Even if the Alliance betrays me, I will ensure that payment is made, to the greatest extent of my ability.

I do not believe Kanuckistan's assault on the President of Valient was justified in the circumstances of the moment. An action targeting the Omega Pulse Sattellite would have been more appropriate. However, I can easily understand your action to protect your national security, and therefore I do not condemn it.

It appears you may be preparing to take military actions against the Commonwealth of Valient. I urge you to first wait out the results of the demands I have made. I believe that Valient will listen to a leader of his region much more than a distant nation. I have asked my Missile Command to prepare to shoot down the Omega Pulse sattellite in the event he uses it again or does not comply with my demands.

We feel equally threatened by the Omega Pulse system and his attempt to sell it. If he tries to sell it or use it, we will stop him.

If military action is made against Valient, Inshallid forces do not intend to step in on either side under the current circumstances. However, if any of our citizens are harmed or any assault on our territory is made, we will defend ourselves with great force. We are currently evacuating our Embassy and warning our citizens in Valient. We request a minimum of 72 hours to complete this action.

The technological centers of the Sultanate of Inshallah are undergoing some problems with the Nationstates Forum (Invalid Session), but feel free to post this message in the Omega Pulse thread. In fact, I sincerely encourage you to, to provide a better understanding to all monitoring the situation.

Very well. The weapon is apparently sattellite-borne, but controlled by a ship. We have spy sattellites tracking it. Inshallid Air Forces - Missile Command is prepared for the possibility of an anti-sattellite strike on the Omega Pulse weapon. We demand that the Commonwealth of Valient:
1. Cease all attempts to auction the Omega Pulse or its plans.
2. Destroy all Omega Pulse plans, or turn them over to the United Nations or the AHA Council for proper disposal.
3. Destroy the Omega Pulse Sattellite by reentering it into Earth's atmosphere or turn all control methods over to the United Nations or Alliance of Hell Angels Council.
4. Pay restitution to the nations you attacked. Let them set an amount. If you feel it is unreasonable, talk to me.
5. Issue a formal apology to the world in the Nationstates forum. Post a link in this thread.

Valient, if you do not comply we will bring you into compliance. We are monitoring you by sattellite and will act to preserve our national security if necessary. This is your only warning.


Mind you, we would have to be allowed to inspect all material and oversee it's destruction for their terms to be acceptible.

*President Valient struggles to keep control of his emotions as he watches VNN, waiting for any word on the fate of his wife and young son.

In the background, phones are ringing off the hook, but he ignores them.

Suddenly, a newsflash appears on VNN. Valient can only watch with horror as it is definately not the news he is wanting to see.

On screen is the ruins of the Alexandria Naval Command Centre, home to what used to be over 500 ships of various classes. Now, there are next to none.

Fires rage among the carcasses of the steel giants. Air raid sirens blare in the background, as a reporter describes the event.

"Looks like Fuggolian aircraft... Valient Royal Navy caught off guard... over 300 ships lost, 1000 people dead or missing..."

Valient sits, agahast. He suddenly reaches beside him and picks up the solid steel tray on the desk. He hurls it towards the tv, and with a resounding crash, the broadcast is over...

1200 hours

*Broadcast to the Commonwealth of Valient, Fuggolia, Kanuckistan, Indra Prime, Remmonlands, Inshalla, Red Oak and the rest of the members of the AHA

This is President Valient, speaking on the behalf of the Royal Government of the Commonwealth of Valient.

During the past 96 hours, a decision to sell off a peice of ordinance has turned into a conflict with dire consequences for Valient. Alexandria's Naval base has been decimated by Fuggolian forces. And my wife and son's whereabouts are still unknown, thanks to Kanuckistan

Still, with such overwhelming odds against me, I would not be the leader that I am without knowing when to concede. Thus, I will comply with all of the recommendations made by my council head Inshalla.

1) As of this moment, the Omega Pulse is off the market. Any bids tendered will be returned to the countries of origin.

2) I have decided to destroy the plans to the Omega Pulse, rather than give it up to anyone, including the UN or the AHA council. Consider it an act of pride, but if we can't have it, no one can.

3) At exactly 1600 hours, Admiral D'rtang of the VRN Heavy Carrier Vidion will direct the Omega Pulse satellite into the atmosphere. Again, consider it an act of pride.

4) I am unable at this time however to apologize for my actions. Considering the anount of carnage Fuggolia and Kanuckistan inflicted on Valient, I'd say that we are even. I will not pay for restitutions as well.

5) We understand now the mistake that we have made in trying to sell this peice of ordinance. AN official apology will be issued withn 48 hours to the Forum, and a link will be available on this thread. Again, per recommendation of Inshalla

At any rate, it is now known that if there was to be a war between Valient and the others, there would be very little support from the AHA itself. Though I do understand where the AHA are coming from, I still must say that we are disappointed. If any of you were in a conflict, we would be at your side in an instant, regardless of the circumstances.

Would you like to know the main reason that we decided to go ahead with plans to auction off the Omega Pulse in the first place?

It it because of nations like Fuggolia, Kanuckistan, Indra Prime and especiallu yours. Nations with populations dwarfing Valients by the 100 of millions. Nations that are able to "DEMAND" an action be done, and say that "It is a FINAL WARNING."

Yes, we are a small nation, relatively, and are forced to survive by being cunning, and using guile. Think about it. Though we are unable to back up the Omega Pulse with the manpower, someone else could. We get the money from the winning bid to continue running our country, and the other country gets the ability to defend itself from intruders.

Sure, it could be used as an offensive weapon, but so can anything. So all I know is that I am the one sitting here making this statement while watching crews excavate the remains of my house.

"Agreed. We want to put this whole issue behind us once and for all. Any and all nations are invited to send delegates to Alexandria, capital of the commonwealth and observe the final phase of the destruction of the Pulse. You will be allowed to position Braodcast satellites near the re-entry site, and VNN will broadcast the disintergration of the Pulse and all plans.

"The final phase will take place in 24 hours. please advise of your delegation status."

*At the time of broadcast, there have been some sign of movement beneath the rubble of the president's mansion. Valient holds out some hope for his family. The whole nation is in prayer.

As we speak the Indra Prime 6th Battle Fleet is on its way to Valient to deliver the Indra Prime delegates to witness the destruction of the Omega Pulse Weapon. Our 3rd Space Fleet is currently in orbit of Earth for retrofits and will be dispatching three Battle Cruisers to the Site at which the satellite will be reentering the atmosphere. Any personnel wishing to observe the reentry phase from orbit from the observation ports on board the ships should let us know immediately. In the event something goes wrong with reentry the captain of the fleet has orders to fire on and destroy the Omega Pulse satellite.
