These massive floating defense platforms are masters of all within range. Each main gun turret contains two shrouds with 3, 24inch guns each. For close in missile defense the 15 (5 a side) Phallanx II AMG systems should prove more than enough, while the 6, 8 tube launchers can thwart any attackers, land, sea or air. The top third of the platform is encased in (classified) feet of DU enveloped in steel. While beneath the roiling seas mere steel plateing with titanium reinforcements is enough due to the full coverage torpedo netting encloseing the vessel. Also seen in the picture, 3 seperate runways, depending on the direction of wind, as well as a massive heli pad atop the tower. Inside the command center is filled with the most up to date FCC's and C3 computers, while each corner of the heli-pad houses it's own redundant array of RADAR, LADAR and ECM/ECCM equipment. As a drawback to it's power, the floating fortress has no engines, it keep's it's station via 9 burrowing anchors. Any purchasers will need to send their own ships to tow it, but suggest a minimum of at least 2 Super-heavy lifter type sea transport vessels.

Get yours for a low 6.75 billion dollars. Limit one per customer per delivery. (currently 20 in production, 14 reserved for allied nations.)

Let us be the first to make a purchase, IWe would like the first available platform to be delivered to our nation's coast.

OOC: Very nice drawing, but it seems your host does not allow hot linking, so u have to click the link to see it.

I'm afraid due to it's engineless state we cannot deliver without special arrangements that would occupy a portion of our troop ships.

Would it be possible to deliver it in pieces, and then assemble it at the location? We would be willing to pay a bit extra if you could save us the trouble of getting ourselves, although our navy is massive, there will not be any ships available to transport it anytime soon.

that is possible, we can send it in 4 major sections with all the electronics and wepons sub sections ready for installation.

A floating tank; not bad. Tho anyone with cruise missiles will be able to pound it from very far away; I'd sugest a large thermite payload or a small nuke.

See:15 Phallanx II anti missile systems.

Yes, 5 per side; this means that an alpha-strike of 6 cruise missiles will overwhelm the defences and net atleast one hit, likly more(phallanx ain't perfect, afterall).

Well, a Phalanx can probably down about 2 missiles in a salvo, so six might actually be destroyed by it. But Phalanx CIWS has several really gaping problems, they have trouble engaging surface hugging targets and such, and can't engage that many targets at once, there is also a slight problem in finding replacement parts. Considering the size of these things a Goalkeeper CIWS probably would've been a better choice.

Well, I don't think it'd matter what you used when the other guy alpha-strikes you with a cruiser or three's worth of low-profile, surface hugging cruise missiles.

That's alot of expensive ordinance, but to take out a 6.75 billion USD asset, I imagine most'd be willing to do it.

could we get more stats: ie, crew, ammunitiopn and number of, displacement, movability etc

a cruise missile is going to hurt it, but the damage would likely be superficial unless a nuclear warhead is used. The armor is just too thick for a conventional warhead to do much. Turrets and such may be knocked out, but it is unlikely that the fortress would be disabled by any means.

on to stats.

crew is about 500 mixed enlisted and officers. with room to berth 800.

the main guns have roughly 50 shells per gun (300 a turret) on hand in the magazine below the turret, with room for more storage in the below seas magazines.

the Phallanx II(the turreets are on a quick change pod type base so you can replace them if you don't like phallanx) have 3 drum magazines, each containing 12,000 rounds.

for missiles, each launcher has storage for 160 missiles with 8 in the tubes. This can be broken into any variety of ASROC, tomahawk, harpoon or various assorted other systems.

Displacement is listed at 533,700 tons, and movability is almost zero without multiple heavy lift ships. before construction is complete the platform can be shipped in 4 major peices with all the sub-systems seperate.

need any more details?

Confirmed, would you care to pick it up or shipped in peices for final assembly on location?

That's why I was recomending large thermite or small nuclear payloads(a few nuke-pumped laser-heads going off just as they come over the horizon on a crystal-clear day would be really nasty, too  ).

Right tools for the job, as it were.

Thermite doesn't make a good warhead payload because of the inherent difficulty of igniteing it. And a small nuclear payload could take out a small fleet of ships just as easily as one platform.

Aian, order confirmed, come pick it up any time.
