See above for originating thread. This is an spinoff, as I want to make sure the other stays purely focused on matters with the Pjiadha.

IC:

The city was in ruins, devastated by war from within. Riots had decimated much of the downtown area, and the few buildings that were left standing were in utter disrepair. It was a wonder that any leadership existed in this ravaged city at all. Fires still burned in some areas, and crushed metal, along with wind-swept ash, littered the ground. The skies were a bright blue, fitting for a cold day in Chokai. However, storms could be seen in the distance, and the snow would only make the rudimentary living conditions worse.

In the tall Chokai International Tower (glass and steel), a man by the name of Tod Freeman was standing. It was one of the few towers left standing that had running water left in it, as Freeman had ordered his men to make sure the public water system stay working in the downtown island sector.

Tod was a retired general, battle-worn and tough. He was stocky, and had bright gray hair. Though only in his late 40s, he looked much older. General Freeman had assumed control after anarchy had erupted, and air-to-surface missiles from the Pjiadha had destroyed the city. While he hated the Pjiadha, he hated the former ruler, Kei Cho, more. He hated Penguinatan allies, and it was his dream that he would lead the Chokai Militant Party to height.

He had long since ordered the SAM sites based on the Downtown Island active, and was still preparing defenses. He knew that an attack by Nankin on the city inhabited by 30 million would come soon. His 3 million forces were prepared and ready, and he had raided hundreds of former Penguinatan military bases, stolen equipment, and took the liberty to use it.

As he looked out of the smeared window in the wastelands of the city, he could see large crowds of people bartering. Disgusting neanderthals. Can't even uphold dignity. Shameful of my leadership..they deserve death beyond measure.. The general's thoughts were interrupted by an abrupt knock on his door, which he allowed his aide, Janice McFerguson, to come in. She was a short, plumpy woman, in her mid-30s. Her thin brown hair was pulled back in a tight bun, and she looked professional in her blue business suit. "Sir, the intelligence officers wished to inform you that Nankinese forces have launched tomahawk cruise missiles in the direction of Vostirqk. They are suggesting full alert and an immediate lockdown of Chokai to prepare for invasion."
"Yes, Janice. Inform them to launch Code Red. I want everything we've got thrown at those Nankinese bastards. Then after that, inform them that the 2nd and 3rd Mechanized Divisions are to be mobilized, as well as the 1st and 6th Infantry Divisions. I want the 2nd Air Division mobilized also. Activate the mines in the lake surrounding this island, and I want them ready to blow the bridges as soon as I give the commands. We will not lose Chokai. Send my top three up here immediately."
---

Ten minutes later, Freeman's top three generals had arrived. They devised a plan to surround the outer edge of the lake, and then fill every building left standing with troops. They would have M1A2s lined up in the front, followed by T-95s 200 yards behind, and then a strong line of Paladins and Howitzers. In the middle there would be a thick line of Patriots and SAMs, as well as Apaches and Blackhawks.

On Downtown Island, there would be the last line of defense, with the remaining M1A2s and T-95s standing guard, as well as hundreds of Humvees loaded with explosive devices to act as suicide trucks. There would be troops placed in buildings below the 7th floor on all of them. SAMs and Patriot batteries would occupy every intersection, along with M1A2s and T-95s.

For troops who would not occupy buildings, streets with sewer lines under them had been blown, and concrete platforms had been built to where the troops could peer over the "trench", and they had dug foxholes. Hundreds of howitzers, Paladins, and MRSLs were already in the trenches, and minefields had been stretched for at least 2 miles ahead. Hundreds more were on the shore of the lake, staying out of range of attack. SAM and Patriot missile batteries were lined up everywhere in the huge ring, ensuring that any aircraft that decided to fly nearby would be immediately taken out.

General Freeman was sufficient with the plans, and ordered more mines to be layed. He had been planning on invasion from someone, but he was paranoid. He had taken sharp criticism for practically turning Chokai into a minefield, but many were happy that his paranoia existed. Once he had taken control of Chokai, he wanted to make sure that he would not lose it.

It would be 2 hours before the first Nankinese troops were in range of anything the enemy could throw at them. JSTARS were monitoring the situation from afar, and with AWACS showing no enemy airborne presence, air superiority was deemed capable.

On the decks of the Perestroika, Glasnost, and the Klessacht F/A-18s were being readied for take-off. 20 F-62Cs, already in the air, would provide AA defense for the surface attackers, and inbound from Nankin is a flight of 200 B-1B Lancers.

General Freeman was sitting in his office on the 75th floor, reading through papers. His office was very tidy, and he made sure the waste basket never got too full. He sighed as he put his glasses down, apparently reading a report from ground forces on their current status.

A knock at his door told him that it was truly time. As he predicted, his aide walked in. "General, the Council of Officials has requested your final clearance on the launch. They need you downstairs immediately, if you are available."

He smiled politely. "Yes Janice..Let's go." He got up, and went to the elevator, hit the big 48 on the panel, and they rode. When he got to the 48th floor, there was much hustle and bustle. The area in front of him went quiet as an immediate salute was given by all in the vincity. He saluted back, and they went about their business. He and Janice walked to the Conference Room, where he knew the generals were waiting.

"Ah! General Freeman, you're here!" said one of them happily. General Freeman replied merrily, "Yes, yes. I believe you want my authorization to launch our cruise missiles at the Nankinese fleet?"
The generals nodded in agreement, and turned on the projector. After they all went through a quick briefing on what was to happen, they finally asked Freeman for his authorization.

"Blow the hell out of them."

Patrick Moore was taking a sip of his coffee. It was dark outside, and he was on the outskirts of Chokai. It was a gusty, chilly night, and with little electricity, he found it hard to keep warm. It was very quiet, an eery silence he thought. He had heard trickles of news coming out of the city, but not enough to know what was going on.
It was then that all silence was broken. Suddenly, roars erupted, as well as bright dots all over the horizon. First Patrick didn't know what was happening, and then those little dots were rising into the sky. Wave after wave, heading southeast. It was a magnificent show as hundreds after hundreds of little white balls flew into the air and trailed off into the distance. He watched and listened until they were a distant sight. I'll be damned.. he thought, amazed at what had just happened.

The waves of missles were flying through the cloudy night, soaring through sheets of cold rain. Roaring through the air at 1,500 ft, little could stop them. Then their targets were below, and they immediately started descending. Flying extremely fast, hundreds of them made impact into the ships below, puncturing hulls, sending huge fireballs into the air, and created booms rarely heard in these peaceful waters.

Destruction rained down upon the ships, as more and more kept coming. More fireballs lit the dark night, the sheets of rain uselessly pouring down on the flames. Finally all the missiles had been hit or were destroyed in midair. What was left were many ships ablaze, suffering the fury of General Tod Freeman and the military of Chokai.

As the attack on Nankinese forces was ongoing, 100 F-22s were being called off the ground to patrol areas around Chokai. 10 B-52s had lifted off, and launched 120 cruise missiles (12 per bomber) at the beach off of Vostirqk, hoping to hit Nankinese forces landing there.

OOC:

Over 1000 tomahawk cruise missiles were launched at the Nankinese fleet from Chokai and surrounding military bases. 120 cruise missiles were launched at forces near Vostirqk. Losses are? :D

OOC: Here's the real post.

Rear Admiral Alexander Sorensen couldn't help but stare in wonder at the map of Chokai with the updates enemy formations, they had all grouped together on a little island in the middle of the city. Even with the small number of aerospace bombers he had, there would not be a problem making mince meat out of the enemy.

Admiral Sorensen adressed his officers, "Here's what's going to happen. 1st ABR will be the first wave, they're going to carpet that island with Ammonium Nitrate bombs. 2nd ABR will be the second wave, they'll do the same that the 1st did but with Inferno bombs. Hopefully the enemy will either see the error of their ways or they'll die. Frankly, I hope the latter is the case."

Subject: Surrender

I don't know who you are or what you want, what I do know is that you are part of a problem within a Star League nation. I am giving you 24 hours to surrender or my bombers are going to level every building and kill every person on that little island of yours. Surrender past the 24 hour deadline will not be accepted and anyone who tries will be summarily executed. That is all.

Luckily, most of the men in Vostirqk had departed and were en route to the coast, but the 17th Engineering Division and remanents of the 3rd Aiborne were still on the ground. Cruise missiles slammed into the C-141s spread out on the ground of the airbase. Wings were ripped through and the unmanned planes exploded into balls of fire. Men scrambled and were trampled as a couple ammo and fuel dumps were hit, sending more flaming embers into the air and into the rotors of patrolling Comanches. 4 Comanches sucked the embers into their engines and the machanics failed, sending them crashing into the wast land below. In the end, 134 were dead, including 13 destroyed -141s and 4 RAh-66s.

[I'll post the sea battle later.]

Due to the collapse of the Pjiadha, the government of Isla de Penguinata has restored most of the mainland. Chokai will be mincemeat, and we request that no international forces intervene any longer.
