NSV is air-cooled, belt-fed heavy machinegun. It is gas operated, with tilting bolt locking. Barrel is quick changeable. NSV has recoil buffer inside the receiver for smoothest operation. NSV could be fired in full-auto mode only. All NSVs issued with variable magnification 3-6X scope SPP.
It is also available in NSVT (Tank) variant as co-axial or turret mounted gun with electrically powered trigger device. Almost all recent Soviet and Russian tanks have NSVTs as AA guns, mounted on the top of the turret.
NSV is extremely reliable and very powerful, capable of piercing of 16mm of steel armor at 500 meters.
