VERDONIA F.D., Veridon (AP) - In the presence of news cameras and newspaper journalists, and with an entire nation watching on national television, the president of Veridon, Michael Girardi, signed the charter of the International Allied Defense Ferderation.
Prior to the signing of this charter, a representative from Veridon had attended meetings between the members. Before signing the charter President Girardi stated, "This will allow Veridon to become a complete and active member of this alliance and Veridon will benefit from this greatly not only economically, but militarily."
In signing the IADF charter, Veridon and its armed forces swore to protect its citizens from imperialism and also vowed to use nuclear weapons only as a last resort. The IADF originally had 17 members including such nations as the United States of Credonia and United Elias.
"It is great to know that the Republic of Veridon will be joining the ranks of such great nations and we hope we are able to make the same impression upon the international community," President Girardi stated before the press conference ended.
