Passive Radar Stations being set up

All over chellis, Passive radar stations are being set up in a multi-billion dollar defense plan. Chellis wishes to eventually cover chellis with anti-aircraft sites that can defend all of chellis... a goal that will not be immediatly achieved, but one day...

To test if your radar works, we will send a dummy plane to Chellis.

Chellis can handle tests on its own, although we have only begun setting these stations up... it will take many years to create a sky cover, and at least a few years till the entire border lines are covered.

Our radar power is very powerful. Perhaps you use ours for temporary?

Chellian radar is surely stronger yours currently, and even if we were to use yours, it would take probably longer to set up in chellis.

It will not take longer to set up in your nation. Our Temporary Radar is a portable. It will only malfunction at times.

We already use non-stop flights of chellian MOHA aircraft with advanced radar along the coast. Out goal is to set up heavy anti-aircraft sam sites with passive radar. Your stuff would only be a hinderance.

We still out beat you!

Our radar contains a Patriot Missile.

WE OUT BEAT YOUR TECHOLOGY!

Our MOHA aircraft carry five HELEN Heavy missiles, which have the reach of a patriot, and are commonly used as SAMs.

You dont out-beat anything, thats improper english, and nothing you have is superior to mine, sorry old chap.

What're Chinamen doing with Patriots, anyway? Aren't they happy with their S-300s? Get some S-400s then!

When you say "until the entire border lines are covered" does that refer to radar coverage, or SAM coverage?

-this has been an I've-too-great-a-headache-to-think-clearly post.

Both. The entire nation will be covered in SAM sites with range to cover the mainland, that is why it will take so long. However, the sites will allow for modernization rather easily.

So presently there may be gaps in your radar? That's good of an established nation to admit (nice word order, me). Dra-pol already boasts total SAM coverage*, owing to the CS-400 launchers imported from Beth Gellert. They are few, and all positioned in one northern location, but hey, it turns out North Korea really isn't all that big.

(*not entirely true, since missiles fired from one single location can't hit low flying targets obscured by Dra-pol's mountainous terrain. But don't tell anybody.)

Just out of interest what exactly do you mean by passive radars? is it soem sort of highly sensitve receivers that detect the emissions of incoming craft (not a bad idea that, until they start using minimal emissions craft ie stealth thingies) or do you have 1 single emiter and loads of receivers? or am i completely on the wrong track?

Dra-pol, funny you should mention Beth Gellert... I remember when it was a wee lad, and it took a crashed plane of mine and made a copy of it... ;)

Besides, our MOHA aircraft work fine for the borders, but inland threats and/or large groups of planes are the real threat.

Crookfur, It basically detects the emissions from an incoming craft, so that it cant use its own radar against it, and stealth-aircraft are basically screwed.

..And that became the NT1FB Springer (http://groups.msn.com/NSRalishohan/armaments.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=24). In truth far from a copy, but we learned a lot from the avionics and such that our then terribly economy couldn't otherwise have acquired.

Of course BG too is covered entirely by radar and surface to air missiles, again by virtue of its small size, and possession of CS-400 and CS-500 long range SAM systems.

Still, The People's Commonwealth congratulates Chellis on its new defensive measures, and hopes that there'll be no chance of them going rogue this time..

Hey, that B-63 incedent was human error... ;)
