Above Cairo 14 An-225s began deploying troops into the air, they floated down onto the citys open areas and squares. Meanwhile at the main airport 4 747's touched down quickly after each other. The Egyptian authorities thought that this was a large tourist contingent. In actual fact it was the 1st Battalion of the 223rd Grenadier Guards Regiment. The soldiers quickly took over the airport and signalled for 28 more An-225s escorted by MIG-29s and SU-39M's. After touch down they divulged 50 BMP-3 IFVs and 5 Mi-24 Hind Heliopters. The IFV's took off to rendevous with other Imperial Army troops to complete the takeover.

Meanwhile the 142nd Infantry Division landed at the Suez Canal and secured it with air support from MIG-29S Sea Fulcrums whilst the 201st Motor Rifle Division secured other important towns. Hardly any enemy resisitance was encountered.

In a Message to all World Nations Emperor Constantine decreed that the Suez Canal will remain open to all nations ships.

OOC: I checked chellis' nations claimed thread and Egypt wasnt on it so ive taken it over :) no foreign intervention is needed quite yet hopefully an RP will develop concerning this and another invasion im going to start soon.
