Isla de Penguinata
29-11-2003, 16:38
The man awoke. It was early morning, and there was smoke everywhere. He got up, stretched loudly, and looked around. This was not the Isla de Penguinata he had once known. Once a world power, that had nothing to lose, now wasted by its own people. In the past months, destruction had gone rampant. Cities had been leveled, and Penguinatans had been sent back into the stone age.

He looked down at his clothing..ragged, worn, and black from oil and grease. There was no water, and he would have to forage for food. The international community had lost all contact with Isla de Penguinata. He knew..The man was an advisor the former Empress before her loss to power, and he was the former President of Isla de Penguinata. Yes, this man was Jake McDermont. The one who freed Penguinatans from an agressive Emperor many years ago, the one who resigned in order to allow a stronger, more centralized government to govern a vast space-faring Isla de Penguinata.

All that had changed now, and gangs of people had formed. There was no government, except in Arundemont, but that was a very small hold, to say the least. Islamic fundamentalists had seized control of issues and political power to reduce the nation to nothing.

Jake McDermont knew it was time..time for change. He would head to Arundemont, and begin to rally the millions who had sought haven there. He would become the Joan of Arc of Isla de Penguinata, but time was running fast. If the Pjiadha managed to take control of a crushed Arundemont, they would take control of the rest of the country.

Jake decided that he would use a laptop when he got to Arundemont, which had some contact to the outside world, provided that a computer was available. He would send a plea to the international community when he got there. It was time...

Jake was walking now, he was still in the outlying suburbs to the east of Chokai. He was tired and weary, and then he found something he could not believe. He ran up to the 2007 Honda, and was so happy that he found a car. Most cars had been taken to New Damascus (the orange dot, renamed by the Pjiadha), and most others had been destroyed during the fighting, which of course still continued.

Jake was somewhat unhappy when he discovered the half-tank of gas. That wouldn't get him all the way to Arundemont, but it would help greatly. He thanked God and prayed for about five minutes, and then proceeded to hotwire the car. He did successfully, and hopped in. He turned out onto the street, which was littered with debris. He would have to be careful, for risk of running over something and puncturing a tire.

several days later

Jake had been walking since the car he had been using finally ran out of gas. He was just on the outskirts of Arundemont, and knew security would be high. When he got there, he would claim Arundemont the capital of Isla de Penguinata, and make contact with the outside world. He could only hope they would have computers...

Commander Archan walked briskly down the set of hangers towards the part of the tarmac that now held the 3 Airborne Cavalry Divisions that would be sent into IdP as soon as possible. Archan slid his hand over the sleek body of the V-22 Osprey, magnificant bird, just beautiful, time to brief the troops.

"Men, [he scanned the 6,000 troops spread wide across the airport] our old ally IdP is in serious trouble. Anarchy rocks their coasts and spreads throughout their nation. Recon satellites show gang build up and sources on the ground speak of some movement towards reform. Since we do not know how solid this reform movement is, we have decided to enter as a third force - a persuasion force, if you will. You are the elite men of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Airborne Cavalries, you have not failed in the past, and will not fail now. You will form a beach head at Vostirqk and will move to take the capitol by way of amphibious assault. We know all bridges into the center island are set to explode, so we will take two roots. You men, escorted by your Comanches, will fly at no more than 100 feet off the lake surface and will provide arial support for the sea invasion.

Coming into cruise missile range right now is the 1st Fleet, within it the 301st Armored Cavalry is held. The plan is a daring one, requiring you boys to secure the city and airport QUICKLY. At that point, the 45th LID can be brought in and the 32nd Engineering Battalion which holds with it trucks to move more LCACs. The 301st will make a general landing parallel to the lake, and will hopefully have you boys in place with the assault ships at the lake to make a seamless transition over the land and right into the city. Other logistical settings are not of concern to you, but be aware you will have CLOSE air support. Keep the choppers below 100 feet. Move out, men!"

With that Archan walked off and the men of the 3 divisions slipped into their respective V-22s or RAH-66s, ready to take off. Flight time of 2 hours.

The guards in Arundemont were on full alert, and Apaches were on patrol 24/7. They had orders to detain anyone who came within 25 miles of the city's suburbs, even if they were authorized. Arundemont refused to accept terrorist attacks, and had beefed up security, as well as devoted most of its attention to defense. The city of 18 million was defended by most of the old Penguinatan military, with 2 million troops under its banner. The city's governor, Jeremiah Gruchevk, a former hacker for the Dominion, was very uneasy. He knew that the Empress had escaped, and she would not be returning to Isla de Penguinata.

Jeremiah was sitting in his office inside the old City Hall. He was pondering what the plan would be. He had gotten word that some cities were being sieged by the Pjiadha, and he knew that Arundemont was safe in that case. Arundemont was expanding to an area about the size of Conneticut, but Jeremiah didn't want to expand too large. He knew that if he stretched Arundemont's military, which was already low on morale, the city would surely fall when the Pjiadha decided to make their final assault. In fact, Jeremiah knew it would happen sooner or later, and he also knew that the Pjiadha was building up its forces to prepare for an attack. He knew he couldn't do this alone..he prayed that someone would come to help.

Little did he know that Jake McDermont was being detained at that very moment.

"Admiral Jackson, we are in cruise missile range. Shal I tell the HCVs to go weapons free?"

"Yes, they know their targets, ETA on the airborne?"

"Should be flying over head now, si-"

The Hundred some V-22s were spotted far off on the horizon as the RAH-66s droped to a lead position. The rotorwash kicked up the sea around and inbetween the ships of the 1st Fleet - a brilliant sight. A line of 20 HCVs had hung back behind the Perestroika (my Red Dragon carrier flagship) and as soon as the rotor aircraft had passed the flight path for the missiles, the ships ignited in flames on the decks as the Tomahawk cruise missiles were ejected in the first use of the HCVs in combat ever. Over a 20 minute period 1600 missiles were launched, all traveling ahead of the flying divisions. Soon, they would impact and the invasion would begin, LHA ships were alreayd opening their doors for the ground part of the invasion....

Many hours had passed, and Jake McDermont had been questioned. After questioning him, Arundemont authorities figured it best that he went to see Jeremiah.

Jake told Jeremiah the entire story of how he got to Arundemont, his plans, and what he thought the enemy would do next. They had a long talk, and it was three hours before they stepped out into the hallway. Jeremiah then issued the following statement:

As former President Jake McDermont has returned to assume power and return Isla de Penguinata to its former might and power, I hereby surrender the office of Governor of Arundemont to Mr. Jake McDermont, on November 29, 2016. It is my true concern that the Pjiadha may take control of much of the country, and we must stop the scourge of war now. Governor McDermont has spoken of his plans to defend and conquer battling clans and gangs, and with the help of trusted allies and other nations, he plans to restore Isla de Penguinata to its rightful place in the world. The witnesses of this proclamation are as signed below.

Arundemont was taken with shock and utmost happiness that McDermont had returned. They no longer would call themselves Arundemont, they were now Isla de Penguinata. The nation which they grew in, the nation which they missed. McDermont would lead them to victory, and his first order of duty was to issue a statement to the international community:

It has come to my awareness that several allies of the old Penguinatan Dominion have arisen to help. I have detected and heard that Nankinese forces are built up in western areas of the country, and I give them full permission to do what they feel is necessary in order to gain control of those areas.

I would also wish to tell the international community that Isla de Penguinata will rise to its former might again. We will not be shunned and hated. We will rise to our height of power in this dark hour of Penguinatan history. Be prepared, for Isla de Penguinata is returning, and with a swift foot.

The second order that McDermont made was to build the military up, and strengthen it by centralizing divisions and giving others certain jobs. He has ordered the Penguinatan Military to issue a statement later on all divisions in every branch, Army, Air Force, Navy, and Special Operations.
30-11-2003, 02:23
"Premier, we've recieved word of complete freedom of operations from McDermont, their reform leader. I say we push ahead."

"Yes, general, how are things going?"

"The cruise missiles should be hitting the ground now."

*********

The Ospreys bounced around as flak exploded overhead, barely missing the low flying birds. The beach ahead was a mess, and encampments heavy in the port. All of a sudden, white streams streaked ahead of the helicopters and down as the Tomahawks dove into their targets. Explosions rocked the beach as ammo dumps were hit as were other gun emplacements. Following closely behind the cruise missiles were shells from the 6 Iowa class battleships sitting off the coast. These smacked into lesser targets that were not deemed important enough for the missiles. The coast lit up as the 3rd wave of assault - 30 F/A-18 Superhornets - dove in, unguided bombs hanging under their wings. These they released at a 1000 feet up, and the submunitions were touched off at half that distance over the beach. The sand exploded as the first Comanche opened up with rocket pods and faction forces on the beach were ripped to shreds. The ospreys flipped 180 degree - doors opening as the men jumped out of the back to secure the town. Retaliation looked impossible with the triad of attacks still reigning down, now further into the city. A quick sweep would occur, and then onto the airport.

"We'll send the 4th Expeditionary Legion," the Praetor informed his commanders. "And the 6th Airborne Legion. Give them naval support. That should be enough for now." He gestured on the map before him in the War Room. "You land near Arundemont, shore up their defense and then strike at this Pjiadha."

General Kaeso Falco looked at the Praetor as though he had suddenly gone stark raving mad. "You've got to be bloody kidding me? That's a hundred thousand men. We can't spare so much as one tank and you want to send two Legions."

The Praetor return look was a bit more intimidating. With his Queen safe in Tersanctus away from the conflict besetting the Imperium, the Praetor's good mood seemed equally distant. "The Military was designed to be able to handle multiple conflicts at a time. General, I think they can handle this one. It is after all our duty to aid our ally, the Empress, and her people the Penguinatans."

The General was not a man to be intimidated, although the Praetor did not look like some he wanted to cross at the moment. "Have you talked to the Empress about this or any of the authorities in Arundemont," the General asked, a bit more quietly then his last remark.

The Praetor nodded his head, a simple "no."

"If war breaks out between us and Klatch," the General continued, much less colorfully.

The Praetor stopped him cold with a gesture. "If war breaks out in Klatch we fight in all three conflicts! The Drakonian will is that of a Dragon, and we are a Dragon roused from it's lair to go to War. Woe, to those who has have roused us!" The statement made clear his position. Not all the Senate, not all the Parliament, could change that position, even if they had wanted to (as since the Nuclear Strikes by Dyelli Beybi, he had their full support in everything). Only his Queen could change (if she had wanted to) and she was in Tersanctus, at the other end of the continent. "The Penguinatan people think their Empress has abandoned them. We will allow her to return, triumphant. Send your Legions!"

Jake McDermont was walking down the halls of the former city hall of Arundemont, rushing to the briefing room. He had ordered several generals and former executive officers to meet, and he was running late. He finally found the room, and opened the door quickly and mumbled his apologies for being late.

A tall man by the name of General Hans Clark was standing at the front of the room, in front of a large projected map of Isla de Penguinata. After McDermont had arrived, he began, his gruff voice booming through the small room with 15 people.

"Now. We've got control of Arundemont, as we all know. It appears that the Pjiadha is preparing an assault on Chokai, which is way out of our reach. Recent intelligence feedback suggests that Chokai's northern suburbs are being sieged. I don't have a damn clue why those dumbasses would come in from the North, being as that's the hardest way to go. Anyway, we've got to inform the Nankinese, and I'll rely on you Agent Groevta to do that.

Anyhow, we've got some control of Triumdaut, the rest of the East is Pjiadhan-controlled. Southern areas are mostly just independent, though I have no doubt they are suffering from a lack of services. My blunt point is that we need to prepare for an attack, because it's just plain obvious that the Pjiadha is planning to sandwich the entire city, one front in the West, the other in the East, and possibly some out of the South. We've got to prepare, like we've been doin', but harder. To end this briefing, contacting allies is going to be a priority here, and that's an order."

Even McDermont had to be awed by this guy's influence. After the briefing, he chatted with General Clark, and they became acquainted, and began preparing battle plans.

The carrier GHS Albert headed for Isla De Penguinata, with two destroyers, the GHS Fist of Man and the GHS Safety as escorts. Behind them came a string of transports, six total, carrying an advance strike force of twenty thousand men, one hundred M1A1 Abrams tanks, and one hundred Bradley IFVs. Overhead, elements of the air support, TAF-11X and F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter planes, flew continuous patrols. All told, one hundred airplanes were going with the advance strike force, although the A-10 Warthog bombers stored on the carrier would not be launched until there was something for them to hit and an airbase for them to land at. Flying over the transports were ten EA-330B/KC-330B air refueling tankers, which would help keep the planes aloft until an airbase of some kind could be secured.

The coast was now in sight. The Glorious Humanity ships spread out and the transports made landfall along a half-mile stretch of coast on the north side of the island. The troops offloaded and began setting up a base.

Sakura Akira, commanding officer of the Pandora's Box battlegroup, was speaking with Alexander Sorensen, commanding officer of the Ragnarok battlegroup, over a direct link.

"I suggest we hit the Jihadists at Mt. Coltice, it's a city directly on the main highway on Arctique Island and it would distract the Jihadists," argued Admiral Akira.

"I'm favoring stopping the Chokai invasion, it's their capital and would represent a huge victory if we could stop it with just two divisions," countered Sorensen.

"No, Chokai isn't their capital any more. It would bleed soldiers who in a useless battle. If you want to stop the Jihadist thrust, use aircraft and orbital weapons. Our main effort goes to Mt. Coltice," Sakura used her command voice, it was such that people said she could compel the First Lord to do what she wanted if she used that voice.

"Very well, I shall notify that our allies," the hologram blinked off.

Colonel Richard Abrams pored over the map of the Isla de Penguinata, marking off distances with a black pen and plotting attack routes. One of his aides, 2nd Lieutenant Jackson O'Hara, stepped into the command tent and saluted. "Sir, the base is complete."

"Good," Abrams nodded absently. "Are the troops ready?"

"Rested, refreshed, and ready to rock," O'Hara replied.

"Excellent," Abrams waved the Lieutenant over. "Alright, here's what happens next. We've got a base camp, now we need to get a more solid position." He pointed at North Creek. "There's our position. We'll take the city, and appropriate any civilian airfields for military use. Then we can call in more support from home, both in planes and ground troops.. That will also give us a more defensible area to work with than this camp. What time is it?"

"0600 sir," O'Hara told him.

"Alright, we move out in half an hour. Let's step on it, don't want to give whoever owns North Creek much advance warning."

"Admiral, JSTARS and satellites report large numbers of allied forces in the north. Appears to be a good mess of infantry, little armored forces. We think they are trying for the capito- old capitol, as I am now informed."

"Well, we can't let them do that. Step up the assault."

"Yes, sir, orders are being relayed."

***********

Throughout the night the Airborne Cavs had secured the small airport outside of town. It wasn't much, and they had lost a couple Comanches in the fighting, but it was large enough for the 45th LID to be shipped in. ETA on them was about an hour. 1st and 2nd Divisions then left the 3rd behind to guard the airport as they headed out over the country in a northwestern direction.

"What are our orders now, sir?"

"Just sit tight, we're on recon to open up a path to the inner lake. Once those trucks get in, we're going to need to push them hard to make the link up."

Random warning lights were blinking ahead as other Ospreys jinked to avoid radar lock. The anti-air capablilites of the enemy were determined to be limited, but no chances could be taken. An F-62 - the first one the divisions had seen in this war - screamed past only a couple hundred feet above the rotors of the highest flying bird, well, they did promise close air support.

**************

The beaches were another story. After hours of preliminary bombardment from battleships and HSVs [correct name, i screwed up in calling them HCVs], the beach still held resistance, and the first couple LCACs took fire, 3 being destroyed in the process with all hands aboard. The first on the beaches were the Bradleys, who gunned down pockets of resistance with their TOW missiles and 25mm Bushmaster cannon. After that, the M1A2s opened up and then the SuperHornets bombed areas ahead of the formations. After all forces are aboard the beach, then the main offensive can be made.

Forces currently in IdP:

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Airborne Divisions (each including:)
80 V-22 Ospreys
32 RAH-66 Comanches
2144 Soldiers equipped with sig-550s w/m203s.

"Go to battle stations," ordered Admiral Akira.

Red lights turned on in place on the standard halogen lights and klaxons blared.

"Comms, make sure the Ragnarok battlegroup is doing the same and make sure they're ready to fire on my command. CAG, ready the first wave of fighters, all ships. Weapons, lock onto your target," barked the Admiral.

One by one all the systems operators gave a positive answer and Admiral Sakura Akira prepared to give the order for her ships to fire.

"Ready." The first row of lights changed from red to green one by one.

"Aim." The second row did the same.

"Fire!" All fourtry-two ships opened fire with a full broadside.

The ring of destruction was an almost perfect circle two kilometers outside of Mt. Coltice city limits and a half kilometer wide. The impact craters made for trenches that covered a dropship's vulnerable engines but not most of its available firepower and at the same time it would conceil the Marines outside of the dropships.

OOC: IdP, I assume you have created a Mt. Coltice city-state for this RP. If you could, please report any relevant casualties as Mt. Coltice. Please note, I didn't hit the highway leading out of Mt. Coltice, so I don't imagine that there was anything in the way of major casualties around there.

The Imperium had sent more than just a token naval support force to Isla de Penguinata. Task Force Imperious rated a full fleet. Leading the Task Force, was Commodore Darren Stark, aboard the Super Carrier, IDS Dragon.

Among the other ships was the Light Carrier, IDS Hippogryph, the Battleship, IDS Supremacy, supported by a pair of destroyers and half a dozen frigates. There were also three Amphibious Assault Ships, a troop ship, and a couple of other various Amphibious Landing Ships.

http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/policy/vision/vis02/p76-b.gif

At this very moment those Amphibious Landing Vessels were working intensely hard. Troops were making landfall as frigates patrolled the coast. Already, much of the force had landed.

General Kaeso Falco watched it all from the deck of the Supercarrier Dragon; first of the Drakonian Super Carriers. His forces would soon be moving out.

The General had recieved word that several other nations were landing and operating forces on the island and above. Nankin, Scandavian States, and Glorious Humanity all had forces in the region. He would have to coordinate with them and the remaining Penguinatan authorities to overthrow the rebellion. He had already announced his arrival to the Penguinatans in Arundemont and the various allied commanders, but he had yet to get a response. Nevertheless, he would be moving out soon.

Patrol aircraft blasted off the decks of the carriers making lazing circles over the landing zone. Once, it appeared there was no enemy resistance, they returned.

http://ww2.pstripes.osd.mil/01/may01/bali509d.jpg

Then the drumming of helicopters could be heard. Dozens lifted off. First, attack helicopters moving to patrol the zone. Then Combat Assault Transport Helicopters, deploying troops to secure the area. Quickly, helicopters of all kinds filled the air.

http://ww2.pstripes.osd.mil/01/may01/bali509g.jpg

The helicopter transports set down under the guard of the Drakonian Attack Helicopters. Troops rushed out securing the area, and the transports lifted off and were gone. Back to ships to ferry out more troops and bring in supplies. The Attack Helicopters continued to fly cover.

Next the first of the landing craft rolled in, quickly moving inland. Under the watchful guard of the soldiers they landed. The first of the Two Legions to make their Amphibious Landings.

The landings continued. Now the larger hovercraft transports were coming in. One Hundred Thousand Drakonian Troops would soon be ashore and ready to move out to war. The General looked forward to it, as did his soldiers. They had all trained for it for much of their lives.

The Ministry of Defense was buzzing with activity. It was a huge mess, as officers and secretaries tried to figure out exactly what was going on.

We feel a need to warn Drakonia that the terrain in North Creek is very mountainous and extremely cold. While that territory is highly rural, those who do live there tend to be pro-McDermont, though we are grateful that the Drakonians are securing that territory. All allies invading in the western sections of the country should take those areas, secure them, and stay put. We are asking that some forces be diverted to the East, where we really need the help. It is the plan of Penguinatan officials to surround Mt. Coltice and close in on it once and for all.

Isla de Penguinata hereby gives all allies freedom of operations in the mainland, and gives it freedom to rule occupied areas as they wish. However, when McDermont announces and end to the war, it will be expected of allies to hand over territory won. Don't worry, benefits will be received.

"Sir," the Officer rushed to General Kaeso Falco's side as the General made his first steps onto Penguinatan soil. "We've recieved word from the Penguinatans." The Officer handed over a Computer Tablet with the message on it. "They want us to move toward North Creek and secure there as well as move toward Eastern Penguinata and secure that area."

The General looked over the message. "We'll do that then." He looked up from the Tablet and looked over the forces still moving inland.

Helicopters buzzed over head, and now the roar of jets could be heard. Apparently, the navy had read the message also and were already dispatching aircraft to attack Pjiadha positions.

Meanwhile, the beach was full of Drakonian soldiers and vehicles. Many were rolling off and heading inland. Tanks, Infrantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), and Armored Personnel Carriers rolled onward.

The General smiled, he turned and stepped into a IFV that had just rolled off one of the Air-Cushioned Landing Craft. "Move 'em out," was his order to the Officer.

The Imperium greatly sympathizes with Isla de Penguinata, but cannot aid them at this time due to a developing nuclear crisis. We will try to send support as soon as possible.

OOC: I don't have enough time tonight, but I will be creating a nation for the Pjiadha tomorrow, on my birthday! Sweet 16! :D Anyway, here's a quick IC post to keep the thread moving along.

IC:

President McDermont was growing anxious. If Mt. Coltice was isolated soon, it would become an extreme danger. He was grateful for the allies helping, and would greatly repay them for it.

He looked at the large screen in the Military Command Room, with red dots displaying hot spots of Pjiadha activity. Swarms of them all around Mt. Coltice, and further east along the river. He then turned around, and saw one of his generals.

"Sir, requesting permission to launch the missiles."
"Go ahead general. Obliterate them."

At that moment, thousands of missiles launched off from different areas of Isla de Penguinata, all heading for Mt. Coltice. They smashed into buildings and roadways, tore entire blocks to pieces, and created such a huge mess that it would be at least a week or two before the Pjiadha could regain control and secure centralized commmand of the city. Huge fires erupted, and Pjiadha-occupied skyscrapers came tumbling to the ground with almighty crashes heard miles around.

For now, President McDermont knew that Arundemont was safe from attack, but it couldn't stay that way forever.

OOC: Sorry to rush this. :(
IC:

President Jake McDermont has declared victory, and end to the Penguinatan Anarchy War, as it is being called. Mt. Coltice was viciously attacked by Penguinatan soldiers, therefore leading to the immediate collapse of the Pjiadha and other clans. The true Isla de Penguinata has been victorious.

Unlike past regimes, McDermont is angry. He is seeking vengeance against those who have treated us wrongly in the past, and is rallying with allies against their enemies. We will rebuild our military quickly, and we will be a force to be reckoned with.

"Long live the Penguinatan legacy!"

OOC2: Yes, I'm going evil.

Subject: Congrats and Concerns

We congratulate you on your victory over the rebels and as per your request will be removing our military assets from the area.

However, we are concerned at your anger over those who have wronged you in the past and hope that you will not let this anger get out of hand. As your nation has left the Star League, you would be wel advised to consult us before you attack any nation as we have many allies, we would be most sad if we were forced to commence hostilities against the IdP mainland.

PS- We would like to enquire as to the current place of residence of the former Empress, Kei Cho.

OOC: Just to give you some perspective on that veiled threat; imagine our little display of firepower around Mt. Coltice, now multiply that by a hundred and subtract most of the discrimination and care from the equation, and lastly imagine that single volley repeated until the ammo for the non-energy weapons had run out or all of what made IdP a functioning and defended nation was destroyed. Now, if the former happens, that just means that our ship's ammo weapons are taken out of the picture but the energy weapons keep on firing. This is of course in preparation for the SLDF I and Marine Corps landing and destroying what defenses you had. Get the picture? And such a happy one it is, too.

Penguinatans are outraged at McDermont's recent speech, and they big him to be more forgiving. Fortunately, McDermont has apologized, and promises to be more "loving and kind towards those have hurt us." This has of course ensured his reelection, and many Penguinatans now support him.

President McDermont has proposed to the Star League that we be allowed to join again, as we will continue to uphold the morals and values that Kei Cho did, though we do not know where she is at the moment. We also ask the Drakonian Imperium that we be allowed to rejoin the United Emirates, as our brief period of anarchy threw us out of such alliances.

We hope that these nations will forgive our actions, and continue to support us and our goals. We stress again that the basic principles of the Cho Administration will be upheld in the current one.

OOC: I truly feel like an idiot. I'm not going evil anymore. That would be stupid. I keep changing back and forth, but this time I'm keeping solid. :P

The Drakonians had only been involved in limited fighting, but what fighting they had been involved in had been decidedly one sided. The heavily trained high technology army of Drakonia was a force to be reconed with. Order was quickly restored.

As the Drakonians loaded back up on their ships, one thing still remained unclear to Drakonia. Would Kei Cho return. No one knew and it looked like the Penguinatans thought she would not. It was up to her and the new Penguinatan government. No one, yet knew what the outcome would be.

The Imperial Drakonian Armed Forces Expeditionary and Airborne Legions continued their loading. They and the fleet were to be dispatch to a relatively new and small nation that was using slaves. An Ultimatum had been issued, if it was not met. That nation would be annexed.

The Drakonian Imperium is proud to state that Isla de Penguinata was never removed from the United Emirates. The Drakonian troops were sent to restore order, peace, and freedom to our United Emirate ally. We did this for Isla de Penguinata and the Penguinatan people.

The Imperium is anxious to know the Penguinatan position on the former Empress Kei Cho, now living in the safety of Drakonia. She was rescue and brought here so she could return to her people. We sent troops so that she would be able to safely return. Now we seek the government's position on this. However, if Kei Cho, herself does not wish to return we will not force her. She can remain in Drakonia, if that is what she so wishes. We do ask that if she wishes to return to Isla de Penguinata that she be allow, even if it to simply live out her life in peace.

We salute your nation. It has shown great resolve, great resiliance, and great spirit. It has lived up to the United Emirate Battle Cry, "Blood and Honor!"

Augustus Drake, Praetor of the Imperium and host to Kei Cho, former Empress of Isla de Penguinata, had awoke (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2396224#2396224) early that morning. He strolled calmly down the hallway and reached the large suite that had been given the his guest, Kei Cho. "Miss Cho, I believe we need to talk," Augustus called as he knocked.

How are you, old friend? We inquired some time ago to President McDermont as to your whereabouts, but he didn't seem to know. Unfortunately, the Star League is no more, we could not sustain our military and we are a people of Earth, not of space. As it is, we have reclaimed out old territory relatively intact and fixed what was broke so thtat we may live on Earth once again. However, idle chitchat is not what this is about, I have sent this message to let you know that in case there is not a place for you in IdP, there is always one in Scandavian States.

It saddens the Corporate Republic that the Star League has collapsed, but will of course continue its path of alliance with Scandavian States.

President McDermont was amazed at the sudden interest shown by other nations regarding Ms. Cho's whereabouts. Quite frankly, he wasn't too sure, and had pretty much forgotten about her. He immeidately telegrammed the Drakonians..

It is our interest to know where Kei Cho is. It is our request that she finally be returned home, and will receive special honor. I do have quite a nifty plan, let's just say "constitutional monarchy." Anyway, any contact from Ms. Cho would be nice, or rather, any word on her location would be. Thank you graciously, and I am excited to hear that Isla de Penguinata has remained a part of the United Emirates. Perhaps I could have a link to the boards?

Cho was startled by the knocking, and was frantically trying to get ready. After the second time she called, "One minute, Praetor!" After she had half-way gotten ready, she pulled her large white bathrobe over her gown, and opened the large door. "Sorry about that. What were you saying..?"

Drakonia, what's your AIM?

Kei Cho was rather surprised. "Oh..my.." She looked out the large window in her room, across the horizon. This had been plaguing her for a while. She didn't understand why little contact had been held between Isla de Penguinata and herself, and was somewhat hurt. She looked at the Praetor, and said shyly, "Are there any other messages? I mean, from...home?" She said "home" weakly, as if she didn't know whether it was really home or not.

Augustus smiled, ackwardly. "Ah, yes. Exactly what I wanted to talk to you about." It seemed rude for him, the host, to be bringing this up, so he just handed her the telegram from Isla de Penguinata's new President.

"The Imperium would be glad for you to stay here, and it also appears that so would Scandavian States, but it looks like your nation need you. I came to ask you what your plans were?" Remember, he had a call to make to Tersanctus, Augustus added, "I am sorry to rush you, but I've got some states business to deal with."

Kei looked down at the transcript. She was deeply touched, and looked back out at the horizon and smiled. "Praetor, I intend to return to Isla de Penguinata. I thank you for showing me these letters, especially the one from McDermont. I have been assured that my country cares about me." She started to cry, happily though. She laughed and cried all the same. After she recovered herself, she apologized while smiling. She said, beaming, "Thank you so much for helping me out and allowing me to stay here, and I'm honored at the offer. I'll tell the Scandavians, too. I have such wonderful friends, Praetor, and I'm glad you're in that group." She gave him a big, friendly hug, and asked happily when she should leave.

A new day was dawning for Isla de Penguinata. A new day that would propel Isla de Penguinata into the future and past...

Augustus smiled ackwardly, at Kei Cho's response, and returned the hug. Women, he thought to himself.

"I am glad to help a fellow friend," he replied. "The Imperium will always be at your service. Loyalty is something Drakonia values greatly, and we are loyal to our friends."

Augustus broke the friendly hug. "I will make sure someone from the Drakonian Diplomatic Corps. comes up to take down your replies, and if you wish, I can have them make your travel arrangements so you can return home. The Praetorian Guard will be most honored to escort you."

Augustus turned to leave. "I'd better get to it," he stated. "It was nice to have you as a guest. The Queen sends her appologies for not being here to meet you herself." And then he was gone down the hallway.
