It would be very unfortunate if we had to go into the second year of NS involved in a major global nuclear war.

We also feel every nation has the right to determine their own future according to their own customs and beliefs. Joining your nation in this exercise in oppretion would be backwards to our beliefs in freedom and liberty.

OOC: Friend sent it to me, not sure. I'll just summarize it for you.

Back in Australia, there was a pest problem with rodentia they had imported, so to curve it, they researched ways to sterilize the rodents. So, in the lab, they took the strain Black 6, shorthand for a black mouse naturally resistant to mousepox, and tested on it. They were using mousepox to test out their theories.

Anyways, one of them got the idea that if they intertwined the mousepox and the mouse IL-4 gene, it would allow as a successful delivering agent so that the mousepox could damage and destroy the mouse's reproductive system and make them sterile.

Instead, what they got, from a normally NONLETHAL mouse disease, with a fatality in that resistant strain of about 5%, was instead a letahlity rate of 100%, with high communicability and easily passable. Every mouse, that is to say, died.

They repeated the test again, and this time previously vaccinated them. Only about 60% or 70% of them survived, but not without severe mutation.

Now, think of it like this: smallpox is naturally more virulent that mousepox. It kills more, it spreads faster, faster incubation period. Now, if we put the human IL-4 gene in smallpox, what would be the predicted after effect? 100% lethality, communicability, and a virus that could easily overrun the world in a few weeks.

Just a quick summary.
