The following laws have been adopted by the Republic of Vertiplex. They will be updated and edited as needed.
THE ANTI-APPLE ACT
Bill M01 signed into law by the Senate on 11/29/03

TO prohibit the ownership of Apple Computers and mandate the export of these computers from the country.
WHEREAS the government is not affected by this act.
Section 1 NO citizen of the Republic of Vertiplex is allowed to own
any Apple computer or any equivalent
Section 2 Use, pue, or solicitation of use of an Apple is punishable as
a felony.
Section 3 The penalties for these crimes are determined by the
federal judicial system.
Section 4 An "Apple" will herby be defined as any computer or
electronic device manufactured by the Apple Computer
Corporation
Section 5 This act will take effect one month after passage to allow
citizens to comply.
THE LAKE EMBARGO ACT of 2003

TO place an embargo on any imports or exports to or from The Republic of Taunton Lake.
WHEREAS the national government is not required to comply with this act.
Section 1 ANY imports or exports to or from the Republic of Taunton
Lake shall hereby be banned for any reason.
Section 2 The consequences for refusal of this act will differ from
offense to offense.
Section 2.1 FIRST OFFENSE is $1,000 fine and/or community service
Section 2.2 SECOND OFFENSE is a $10,000 fine and/or up to 1 year of
imprisonment and 6 months community service.
Section 2.3 THIRD OFFENSE is a $100,000 fine and 5 years in a state
prison.
Section 2.4 FORTH OFFENSE is expulsion from The Republic of
Vertiplex.
Section 3 This bill will take effect immediately after passage.

The Vertiplex Anti-Apple Act was originally based on the (unofficially created) laws of Greater Crawford, where the (dictatorially imposed) penalty system allows for greater flexibility... We can arbitrarily decide to give someone the death penalty, or torture them, or put them in exile... Anything we want! And since we're an evil dictatorship, we believe in extremely severe punishment just for spite, so we usually sentence Mac owners and users to immediate death. However, the Mac user population in Greater Crawford is near zero because our pervasive police force conducts sting operations to catch people before they can even purchase these "computers" on the streets and immediately torture them for information.
