Vehicles

Picus Airborne Combat Vehicle (Designation AC-1)

Being the first independently-built military vehicle to come out of Saena, the Picus ACV was borne out of a need for a light and nimble infantry transport that would be effective both at home and abroad in a multitude of environments. The wide tracks of the Picus give it the ability to navigate deep snow banks, and its boat-shaped hull along with two rear-mounted water jets make it a true amphibious vehicle. Standard equipment also includes an NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protection system, night vision equipment, and adjustable hydroneumatic suspension.

The Picus is also capable of being airdropped with a full complement of ten men inside the vehicle, enhancing the element of surprise associated with airborne operations.

Crux-Class Coastal Icebreaker

Designed with coastal use in mind, these icebreakers have proven themselves as invaluable workhorses within the shipyards of Saena's Polar Navy.

Note that the Crux-Class Icebreaker is a coastal ship; it's relatively small as far as icebreakers go, and as such is unable to withstand deep-ocean usage. A larger, heavier, more powerful version that /is/ suitable for the deep ocean does currently exist, and can be put into production should other nations express interest in buying it.

Length: 142 feet
Beam: 39 feet
Draft: 12.5 feet
Displacement: 675 tons
Horsepower: 2500 bhp
Power plant: 2 1500bhp Diesel engines, 900 VDC, 1.4 KA 1100 KW propulsion generators
Propellor: One 4-blade, 7.5 foot prop @ 335 RPM
Ice-breaking depth: 22 inches continuous, 40 inches by backing and ramming
Ice-breaking speed: 4.3 KTS
Cruising speed, open water: 12 KTS
Max Speed, open water: 15.2 KTS
Internal hull structure: Double-ribbed supports, partitioned bulkheads.
Crew: 32 (4 officers, 28 Enlisted)
Radar: None.
Sonar: ANTS-7 Obstruction & Object Tracking (7 mile radius)

Special notes:
No flight deck.
Designed for coastal operations -- not suitable for deep-sea icebreaking.
Export version comes with no armament - can be fitted with a single 12.7mm MG or equivalent.

Price: $45,000,000 USD

Sheffield-Class Coastal Icebreaker

The Sheffield-class Icebreaker is the deep-ocean counterpart of the Crux-class, designed for use to keep paths open for shipping and military fleets alike.

Specifications:

Length: 442 Feet
Beam: 89 Feet
Draft: 32.6 Feet
Displacement: 15,000 tons
Powerplant: 12 3500hp Diesel-Electric Gensets
Horsepower: 35,000hp
Prop system: Three 4-blade, 16-foot diameter propellers
Max Icebreaking Depth: 6 feet continuous, 21 feet by backing and ramming
Max Icebreaking Speed: 3 KTS
Hot-water assist jets: 6 total, 3 starboard, 3 port. Heated via engine exhaust radiator.
Open-water Cruising Speed: 18 KTS
Crew: 146 Total (16 Officers, 130 enlisted)
Helipad: 45x40x22ft. Support for two light service helicopters: flightdeck, hanger, workshop and aviation office.
On-board boats: One 38' cargo boat, one 38' survey boat, two 23' rigid-hull inflatables.
Radar: SeaScan 53AV air search
Sonar: D03-Standard ship and obstacle monitoring
Armament: 1 dual 23mm, 2 30mm AA guns, 2 12.7mm machine guns

Special notes:

Designed for deep-ocean icebreaking.
Has assist jets below the waterline -- forces super-heated water underneath ice sheets to aid with icebreaking efforts.
Service helicopters can weigh no more than 4.2 tons each.

Because of the ship size and labor involved, Sheffield-class Icebreakers will be built upon demand, and thus any orders will take longer to fulfill. Does not include service helicopters.

Price: $325,000,000 USD

OOC: Hey, i've been on the ship in the second picture. My parents work for the company who own it.

Just a note, it has bow and stern thrusters for added manuevreability, has no room for a flight-deck or hangar, and none what so ever for armaments.

But hey, this is NS, so i guess i'll let it go.

IC:

One Sheffield Class.

OOC NOTE: Perhaps you should include some type of projectile launcher to shoot at the ice and break/explode it.

OOC: Wouldn't work. RL icebreakers use weight and reinforced bows. Projectile launchers wouldn't help. Its best to find weak spots in the ice flows, and follow those.

Ziliarn & McLeod03: Keels for your ships have already been laid down. Expect your ships in about a month.*

Seversky: Your Crux-class breakers will all be ready in one month. The Sheffield-class breakers will take an additional three months to complete.

As for a license, 75 million will grant you the right to create as many spare parts for both classes of ships as you need. Note that these are not rights to build either type of icebreaker from scratch, nor are these the rights to re-sell or re-distribute any parts that you make, save for use within your fleet. Liscense is non-transferable.

Good doing buisness with all of you. Enjoy your ships.

* OOC: Month refers to an NS-month, of course.
