Declaration of Independence of Upper and Lower Bigtopia

27-11-2003, 02:03
We, the people of Upper Bigtopia and Lower Bigtopia, take back the surrender to the foreign colonial powers led by the Resurrected Lands of Nanakaland. We declare independence and sovereignty on behalf of the United Bigtopian Freedom Fighters.

As we strived to form an independant democratic state from the current colonial mess it is in, we caused more violence than previously thought. We forced our dictator to leave, yet also we started a war more massive then we could have ever thought. The violence was just to great for such a peaceful cause.

We humbly surrendered to the occupation forces under several conditions. At first, it looked good. We had colonial governer elections and protection from enemies by our colonial powers. We were still allowed sovereignty to a certain extent, but we were regulated by our colonial powers and much of our resources and manpower had to go to the nations leading us.

We found that rule under Nanakaland was not good so we attacked Fort Bigtopia on the northern most part of the Bigtopian River. The occupation forces responded by sending more occupation forces. We will be forced to spend much of our remaining resources on quartering these forces and building more forts for them. That would implode our economies further.

We now decide to revoke our previous declaration, the Declaration of Dependance of Upper and Lower Bigtopia. We now declare independence from Nanakaland and will fight for our sovereignty.

The majority of Upper and Lower Bigtopians are fine as they are and find no reason for this extremety. It is only the terrorists of the UBFF.

We condem this terrorist declaration.

We have nothing to do with this. We, the people of Lower Bigtopia, are perfectly fine with everything. This is a terrorist act.

We, the people of New Montreal states meeting in the Holy Council, have this to say:

I) We are in roughly half of Lower Bigtopia as part of the occupation and have managed to settle our area down and rebuild it. The land is at peace and doing very well.

II) We are staying put. The people here like us, the weather is nice and the first crops are due for harvest anyday now. The people are afraid of UBFF terrorists and need protection. We will give it to them gladly.

III) We are sending reinforcements. We have no other internation commitments requring large numbers of troops, so we are sending and deploying 2 additional infantry divisions as well as 2 armor brigades and as many aircraft as can be spared (that last bit needs some working out as to how many can be sent).

[b]We, the people of the newly rebuilt lands of [b]Burgston City[b], do hereby declare that:

- We have suffered as much as our fellow Bigtopian States in the regrettable revolution. Our lands were burnt, our cities sacked and our commerce halted.

- In the partition of Bigtopia after the war, we were given to the New Montreal States as their share of the lands gained in their victory.

- The people and nation of New Montreal States have brought us to a level of freedom and prosperity unknown at any other point in our history.

IN RECOGNIZANCE of the fact that Upper Bigtopia has decided to rebel again, possibly triggering a wave of destruction worse than the first rebllion wrought upon our lands and people,

IN RECOGNIZANCE that under the treaty of surrender we are a disarmed nation and not permitted to organize armies, navies or other military presences,

WE DECLARE our loyalty to the New Montreal States and their allies and compatriots in the coming conflict, and

WE REJECT any connection, support, aid or abetment of the sad return to rebellion by the "UBFF" in the Northern Portion of our fair lands.

(OOC: Nanakaland this is just to determine what part of Lower Bigtopia I got and which part you did...I will still fight alongside you in the coming squashing of the rebellion to the north)

I have been looking into it, and it apears that only a minority - the UBFF - actually reconize this document.

OOC: Better watch out, only about one-half of Americans wanted to be free from a Britan, and you know how that turned out.

I saw a chart on that. A reasonable percent were Patriots (against England). In this, however, it is only an organization.

We will support our paying clients of the UBFF.
