In a nationally broadcasted television announcement, Phillip Chang, CEO of Veridon's largest military development company, announced the production of the Veridon Class submarine.
Current designs call for the submarine to be of SSBN type, capable of housing and launching up to twenty ballistic missiles. Five inner hulls are situated inside a superstructure of the two parallel main hulls. This multi-hulled design of the submarine will allow a much higher resistance to damage. Maximum diving depth is . Speed is 14 knots when surfaced and 29 knots when submerged. The Veridon class SSBN is capapble of spending up to 5 months at sea. It has six torpedo tubes in total all of which can be used to deploy mines as well.
Phillip Chang also announced that Veridon's military had agreed to purchasing ten Veridon class submarines with an additional twenty to be ordered pending the delivery and successful testing of the first ten. The Veridon class submarine will be deployed with Veridon's carrier battle groups for protection of the carriers. More information will be released at a later date.
