Hutu's Nuclear Power Plant

Hutu

After studying the Credonian blueprints, catching up in the world of fission and fussion, and starting the first part of building. The Hutuian Government and their team of Scientists and Engineers have made the choice to start the building and have made quick progress in the few years they've spent on it getting the main shape of the plant formed up. The team and government are proud of the quick speed the plant is going up and through the course have made some changes to the origional plan. In a world televised press release they have begun to show what the final plant will look like and some of its features.

The news of the plant being finished spreads quickly through all of Hutu's provences. Due to the small size of the country it is estimated the plant will provide power needs for all of the capitol provence, and a slight bit of power for surrounding ones. It is already rumored that 3 more plants are in the design stages. The opening of the plant is televised on 12 CCCP News channels showing General Trotska and President Karekh cutting a ribon to the front door and then President Karekh gves speech infront of the main cooling tower.

"Ladies and Gentlement of Hutu, This is a landmark in our advancement, this is a glorious day for our country. This day will be a day to look back on in glory in years to come. We thank all the nations that stood by us and aided us during this endevor. Thank you all."

I hate Nuclear Power Plants. Even if it's used for backup power. My spies will plant a bomb *secretly* or my 100 hired terrorists will do the job.

So to end use of nuclear power your going to blow up the containment around a nuclear reactor...

What are you going to say to us? A nation that is 90% nuclear with massive investments in producing fissionable uranium as well as fusion technology research? And is building a nuclear power plant in a small, economicly challeged nation. We must be your worst nightmare.

I doubt if your going to do anything...

The Credonian government is enraged and stands politically and publicly humiliated. The Credonian government is also apalled at the government of Bigmenistan for having the blatant nerve to criticize us for trying to help a nation, giving them nuclear power, and then when we decide not to, you decide to support it for your own political gains.

The Credonian government is appaled by the actions of the Hutuian government, stealing copyrighted plans from the Credonian government. We demand that the plans that are rightfully property of the Credonian government be returned and the construction of the nuclear plant haulted or serious repurcussions will ensue.

From this moment forward, Credonia will no longer have friendly relations with the nation of Bigmenistan, and no longer considers the nation of Hutu to be a close friend. As stated earlier, the Credonian government stands before the international community publicly and politically humiliated for its attempts to help a small nation, and we will not tolerate a little nation such as yourself to do that to us.

Once again, we DEMAND that the plans for the plant are PROMPTLY returned, and the construction of the base haulted or serious political repurcussions will ensue. And judging by the looks of it, Credonia will have plenty of support from numerous nations to put considerable amounts of pressure on you. Dont try us. You picked the wrong nation to anger.

The President of Veridon stands firmly behind the position of Credonia and demands that the technology (and any dupications of it) provided by the Credonian government be returned. Veridon will stand and support any actions taken by the Credonian government (and its allies) if construction is not halted and the technology is not returned.

Furthermore, Veridon would like to also inquire about how the Hutuian government was able to steal the copyrighted plans from the Credonian government in an effort to ensure that such humilation of a friend never happens again.

This is an outrage that cannot be supported by the international community. Stealing and deception is something that hinders diplomacy and begins wars. The President of Veridon once more demands that the technology and any advancements made through the stolen technologies be returned to the Credonian government. We hope you choose the correct path. For your sake, and for the sake of peace.

OOC: The enrichment of uranium to make it of a weapons grade requires a processing facility which is not something you ever find or would need in the use of a nuclear power plant.

This situation is under review by senior officials and further comment will be made a latter date, as appropriate based upon information that may or may not be revealed.

On the contrary, depleted uranium, which is used in tank shells as an effective armor-piercing weapon is a by-product of enriched uranium (for powerplant use).

Our government firmly stands behind the official position of the Credonian Government. The stealing of technologies cannot be allowed, and we demand that all construction of these nuclear powerplants is cancelled by the Hutu Government. We also demand that these blue-prints are to be given back to the nation of Credonia, as they hold the rights to the plans.

We would like to tell the Hutu government that all nuclear powerplants using these blue-prints to be put under complete control of the Hutu government, as we do not believe Nuclear technology should be allowed in a nation that is yet to prove itself worthy of having it.

No, No, No, Comrades, I would never steal from another nation. The Credonians brought us a copy of their blueprints, we merely based our plant off that we made drastic changes in the plant layout and therefor did not violate copyright laws. As for your blueprints that we allegedly stole from you, they are in the mail. We do not understand the need for such uproar about this as we again and again have said this plant is for civilian use only. As we also said earlier in the building process, any nation wishing to inspect our country for signs of any nuclear arms may come in. We will grant you full access to all our tunnel systems and government buildings if you wish. Again, we think you have jumped to conclusions and possibly second guessed our true need of this plant. Also, going back to when the Credonians came back with plans for a coal plant, our reason for sending them back was that we have no coal or any resource of that sort and the running costs would be too high. Nuclear power is the only power that we see as a long term cost-effective fuel. Thank you for youre time

President Sutton addresses congress during a special session called between the Senate and the House of Representatives.

“Ladies and gentlemen of congress, members of the press, and citizens of Credonia, as you are very aware, Credonia is a compassionate nation that tries to help smaller nations as best as we can. I personally ensure that we help nations that need it or come to us for aid. It is when these nations that we elect to help, and spend money and use precious resources at our expense and our expense only on take us for granted and betray us that makes us more hesitant to help anyone, and on a more personal note, it fuckin’ pisses me off!” Sutton allows the applause to go on for about a minute before continuing.

“Today, we stand before the international community and in front of the general public naked, ashamed, and publicly and politically humiliated, because we have been taken advantage of , not by a larger nation, but by a small communist nation that I myself sworn to help. The nation of Hutu used the excuse of a major national power crisis to exploit the Credonian government, and me personally, into providing them with the latest technology to take care of the situation and provide power to its people. Their motives are questionable as they have clearly stolen technology and plans that belong rightfully to Credonia. Technology and plans that were offered as a gift to help the well being of that nations citizens. I believe that it is my personal responsibility as the Credonian President to adjust our nations foreign policy on aiding other nations, both big and small. The….” He is cut off as Congress applauds again. After some time passes, the applause dies down and Sutton resumes.

“Therefore I Kaimoni .A. Sutton will be enacting the following foreign policies:

Foreign Policy against Hutu
1. The nation of Hutu cannot be trusted with nuclear power, therefore, after proper diplomatic and political means have been taken, Credonia will prevent this nation from acquiring nuclear weapons and nuclear power
2. The nation of Hutu will remain an enemy of Credonia for as long as we remember the events that have taken place
3. Credonia will impose economic sanctions against Hutu for what they have done to our nation. These sanctions will last for 3 NS years (3 RL months)

Foreign policy for all other nations
1. Credonia will only aid nations in good standing with us
2. Credonia will not help extremist commies, totalitarian or dictatorial governments what do ever

These new foreign policies will help ensure that Credonia doesn’t make the same mistake twice

We mist now focus on what we will do about the nation of Hutu. We want our blueprints on a plane in the air, on their way to Credonia City in 3 NS hours and we want to see the demolition of the nuclear power plant that you are erecting or Credonia will have no choice but to take further diplomatic actions. Should you refuse to comply with our demands, we will gladly do it ourselves. Credonia CANNOT and WILL NOT tolerate theft of our property under false pretenses nor will we allow a midget nation to humiliate us in a way that Hutu has, and get away with it. The Credonian people are hungry for war and you can bet your ass that I am most willing to oblige them at your nations expense. Although I am the President of Credonia, representative of the Credonian people, I must say this, and I want everyone to listen closely, especially the leaders of Hutu…Don’t fuck with us unless you are willing to fight for your life!!!!” Sutton steps down from the podium and storms out of the room, obviously outraged.

Moments later, on orders from President Sutton, the Credonian military stood at DEFCON 2 as the military mobilized for war. 30 minutes later, 3 U-2S spy planes took to the skies and began photographing Hutuian military positions to be analyzed back at Credonia War Headquarters

Excerpt from a Foreign Commissary broadcast
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ladies and gentlemen if I may have your silence for just a moment?" a pointless request but a part of the formalities, "After extensive review of the situation and the increasing volatile nature of the situation, I am asking a representative from Hutu and Credonia to meet with myself at an undisclosed location for immediate discussion of the situation, we offer no solutions or promises only a forum to discuss a situation that has wide ranging implications for everybody not just those involved" after a small sip from the glass of water he continued "also any nation that feels they have a vital interest in the matter is free to send a representative. Thank you all for your time"

Leaving the podium not an expression made it through his diplomatic visage.

OOC: Credonia: Does your flag mean that Credonia is made up of 50 seperate states? Because if it does that means each state must be pretty small :?

The Republic of Veridon stands firmly in support of Credonia's decision. If the stealing of plans for a nuclear power plant is possible then it is more than possible that blueprints for a nuclear weapon can be stolen.

The Republic of Veridon has chosen to stand firmly behind the United States of Credonia and later today, the President of Veridon is scheduled to address congress in search of approval for his decision to send in troops to aid Credonia.
