Due to the latest resolution passed in the UN which lowered economies and hieghtened unemployment rates, MBCRCN along with the use of the Sultane Gol Air Force and Navy launched massive bombong raids on 4 heavily civilian populated cities in Free Soviets from aircraft carriers in the region. It is said that the bombings occured on the 25 of November at 8:55 and lasted until 9:20 pm. Shortly after the bombings MBCRCN officialy declared war on Free Soviets. Opposers to Prime Minister Seth accused him of "causing great tragedies and purposfully killing innocent civilians so to have... gain". When questioned about the remarks PM Seth Schiff said, "These scumbags are infiltrating the UN to twist the world to buy into their propaganda, and I will do whatever the cost to save Capitalism! There are no rules in which war is founght!"
The Department of Regulations had the following to say, "Naval blockades are already being bound with the help of Sultane Gol and her allies and allies of allies. This war will not come to an end until either the resolution is repealed and/or there is only one man standing.Schiff has personally told me that he will pay whatever the cost to win this war even if he himself must die, and I belief him 100%. Let the ideologies of Capitalism and Socialism clash, and you shall see the victor. May together we defeat the evils of socialism!" told President of Regulations Winston Smith in a very brief and emotional speech.
It is said that the bombing was a success and that only only once did the enemies confront eachother face to face and that was during a brief naval scrimish 27 miles from coast lasting only ten minutes. Still no word yet from the official casualties but preliminary reports say that an estimated thousands were killed. November 25 will forever be known as the clash between to very different ideologies, Capitalism and Socialism.

The Free Soviet cities were on alert today as a fleet of the allied nation MBCRCN, has moved toward the Soviet border. Tensions are high. At the hasty press conference called by the Chief Concul of Judea, David Set broke the somber mood with a quick anecdote..

"I hope the Soviets are happy. The step taken by the Soviets is clearly a step forward toward bridging the gap between the poor and the rich, toward equality. In fact if the Soviets had their way everyone would be equally poor."

a good chuckle was quickly interuppted by Mr. Set who spoke in a more serious tone.

"This does not mean we should underestimate the damage they have done. I, and the entire Council fully support the actions of MBCRCN in its venture against the evil Soviets. "


In other news, reports around the nation speak of the recession caused by the international resolution. This is the story of Moshe Ben Illon, a farmer who was bankrupted by the union he employed peacefully before the legislation. "They took everything. After all these years of faithful employment, they had the chutzpa to ask for a 50% wage increase and 1 month off! One month off!


The UN and those blasted socialists bankrupted me! I can no longer support my family. What do the unions want from me, do they want me to starve?"

While Stone River has backed capitalism in a war in the past, we will not do so this time around. While we support capitalist nations, we will not back those that are aggressor nations. MBCRCN had no right to attack the Free Soviets, even if they did author that atrocious UN resolution. Stone River takes a stand of neutrality in this conflict.

The following emergency declaration has been authorized by the Director of State of Rationality, the honorable Victor de Mirabeau, the Director of Defense, the Honorable Kusunoki Masashige, and by Chairman of the Defense Council, Mr. Louis Blanqui:

Chivikistan absolutely does not understand. We would normally consider this none of our business, but then it does not appear that such notions are of much concern here- why on earth was this faux attack "launched"? Chivikistan is a rather liberal nation, and a UN member- perhaps someone wants to jump to the (inacurate) conclusion that we voted in favour of the last resolution and to report an invasion?

As an aside, I should like to note that Chivikistan's economy has, since the resolution, risen from a UN rating of Powerhouse, to one of All Consuming. Are the financially obsessed uber capitalists really so bad at managing their all important economies that while, against their best efforts, their economies crash, our own, into which scarcely cursory effort is put, rises?

Perhaps you could avert financial collapse by selling your bombers to Chivikistan, where they will be up-ended and, with a little work, converted into gigantic helter-skelters.

Saghrahtt the Indestructible growled, all traces of lethargy vanished from his supreme countenance as he moved into action. Barking orders in a harsh, gutteral tongue as he moved from the communications chamber into the corridor and into the Great War Hall, he seemed to grow in height and girth, as if he were not already huge enough, his muscles rippling beneath his green-black flesh, flesh that would, if it could (perhaps it can) laugh at the most highly-developed power armour.

He reached the War Hall, and strode to the centre. His men were already assembled: an advance team of 500,000 strong, led by generals distinguished in past battles, earch one armed with adamantine swords forged in dragon's fire and further equipped with unbendable will and unshakable courage fuelled by boundless rage. Especially when the aggressor retreats after the attack. Is this not a cause why the NVA and VC were so successful during the Vietnam War? Also, like I said there was a naval scrimish. I believe that the attack was well RPed and if you still think the RP was not well acted out, look at surprise attacks throughout history.

OOC: To attempt a sneak attack is one thing; to achieve a Pearl Harbor-type success doesn't necessarily ensue. I don't think it's unreasonable that the attack could have been carried out, but we would have expected an air defense response from Real Soviets, and some losses to MBCRCN aircraft; we were a little surprised that Real Soviets didn't respond with a report of such a defense, and even counterattacks against the carrier group.

ooc: Not in this case. Free Soviets is located in Aperin, which is only just backing down from a state of high alert, and which watches its coatlines territorial waters and airspace constantly. Or so we have consistently RP'd it in the past. You can't just sneak up without RPing the sneaking, and I can tell you it would be a trick and a half to get past us in anything much bigger than an innertube propells by a guy with a manual eggbeater.

A statement from the Anarchist Federation of Free Soviets - Federation Assembly:

Last night our nation came under an unprovoked attack from the nation of MBCRCN. This attack cannot be viewed as anything other than state-sponsored terrorism. The primary targets were our major cities and therefore the targets were each and every one of us. The death toll is unknown as of yet, however it numbers in at least the thousands. Thousands of men, women, transgendered persons, and children killed for no reason and with no warning.

This is an atrocity that must be punished!

However, we do not call for blood but for justice. The people who physically carried out the bombing, the officers who ordered them to do so, and the rulers who decided that this would be a worthwhile course of action shall stand trial for their crimes. We shall not rest until justice is served.

To the ruling class of MBCRCN,
We demand that you stand down your forces, turn around, and go home - before more people are senslessly killed because of your irrational actions. If you do so, and turn over the responsible parties to us so they can stand trial, and pay us reparations this shall not come to war. And you do not want it to come to war. As far as reparations go, we do not want wealth from you. Such wealth would only be stolen from your people. Therefore we feel that fitting reparations for your crimes would be to pay each of your citizens a guaranteed basic annual income.

To the members of the armed forces of MBCRCN,
Put down your weapons, for we have never raised ours against you. Better still, turn them on the officers and rulers who order you to fight and die for them. We have no quarrel with you, nor you with us.

This particular war ordered by your rulers is a particularly bad one. They sent you to fight and die because they fear what you and your friends and family can do when you organize yourselves to look after your own interests instead of being pushed around by bosses and rulers. And they should fear. Without you, your rulers are nothing. They are not the ones who will be doing the fighting. They are not the ones slaving away in factories. They are unnecessary. And this is why they fear you and hate us.

This cannot be stood for. This war is unjustified, and the manner of the attack was inhumanitarian and atrocious. We condemn MBCRCN for what it has recently done, and declare our whole-hearted support for Free Soviets.

Militanaran troops are being mobilized for possible intervention. The Parliament is debating this at this moment, but there is little resistance to the resolution declaring war. We will not attack the nation of MBCRCN, though we shall strike at its forces near Free Soviets or near any other country at war with MBCRCN.

We call for an immediate halt to all strikes against Free Soviets. If this occurs, we will bring back our force.

Attention:
All bombings against Free Soviets have stopped. The naval arrangments near Free Soviets are NOT on the offensive but currently at a stand still and on the defensive. If Free Soviets wishes to hold a convention toward peace they are welcomed to and are expected to contact MBCRCN through telegram and further arrangments can be made. MBCRCN foreign troops are currently at a cease fire until word from Free Soviets arrive as to what their next actions will be. MBCRCN awaits to hear further word from Free Soviets.

"After returning from an economic proposal rally in northern Yellowville, PM Schiff was told of the grave actions which took place in MBCRCN's capitol, Elvispitidone. His motorcade then escorted him toward an undisclosed location somewhere near or in Fyrus City, though before leaving PM Schiff had the following to say, "These terrorist actions are a grave tragedy for MBCRCN and capitalism world wide. The first attack which occured at 11:53 pm was a suicidal car bomb in an apartment complex in eastern Elvispitidone. So far, there are 34 dead and up to 60 injured. In other news, PM Schiff has called upon the embargo on all "socialist states" and already socialist tourists in MBCRCN are being sent back to their states and all imports and exports to and from socialist states have halted. In response to Free Soviets request to pay costs of damages sustained from the bombings PM Schiff said that if anyone needed money it was the UN Nations hurt by the Free Soviets resolution, and Schiff said that he would never pay. Also, about Free Soviets request for the people behind the bombing Schiff said that he takes "full responsibility" for the bombings and that if some one should be punished for the bombings, it should be him. When asked about the casualties from the bombings Schiff said, "How the f--- should I know? Ask those commie bastards."

ooc: i'm sure you don't know me so here's some background: i rank inside the top 5% for military spending and per capital military size, and 90% of the budget goes into my EDW program, which is basically a glorified bunch of hackers and computer nerds who find new ways to bust into other people's systems. on top of that, the CACE does joint research, nations do their own research, and some fund EDWD activity.

it goes like this: first, we hack your banks, take all the money, and stash it in the Data Havens, SeOCC's big secure computer network. then, when we've taken all the rich people's money, we start hacking your communications and power grids, shutting those down. then we start taking over satellites your nation uses and alter their courses so they come crashing into the atmosphere.

i've never gotten past that point since, truly, by that time they've given in. if you want to try to fight back go for it, but just bear in mind where my mlitary budget goes. and i'm modern+1 tech, nothing more.

Like our allies, Celdonia condemns the terrorists actions in MBCRCN, and offers its condolences to the families of those affected.

It is not our desire to see conflict erupt, but neither can we stit idly by and ignore the fact that one of our allies has been illegaly attacked for nothing more than present a resolution to the UN. A resolution that has been accepted by the body of the UN.

The attack on Free soviets is therefore an direct attack on the legitimacy of the United Nations, and it's members. We therefore demand that Prime Minister Schiff be tried as as war criminal for his actions, and that he be handed over to Free Soviets, or a representative of the United Nations, of Free Soviets choosing.

From 20 locations outside the terrorist state of MBCRCN the teams of Project Mayhem get the greenlight to take down the command and control structures of this murderous government. Many of the teams are adrift in rubber boats, in international waters just outside MBCRCN.

They have extensive knowledge of the sea, they have a long heritage of small boat fishing at great distance from home ports. Sacco and Vanzetti are islands steeped in the lore of the sea.

Thousands of small helium balloons are released, timed and launched in tune with the meteorogical knowledge gained from the Sacco and Vanzettian research into space and high altitude flight.

Each balloon carries a small, non-metal timer, below the timer is a carefully-weighted package. At the right time, at the right altitude, the timer will release the package and the contents over the target areas. The target areas are the centres of the 10 largest cities inside MBCRCN.

The balloons, undetectable by radar, will drift over these cities. The timers will spring the release on the packages. The packages will open. Trillions of dollars worth of small denomination counterfeit $Crowe notes will flutter gently down to earth. Years of book publishing expertise mean these notes are virtually undetectable against genuine currency.

Suddenly, hundreds of thousands of people inside MBCRCN are going to find that all they have to do is pick up litter to become very very rich indeed.

Along with the counterfeit notes, there is a leaflet inside each package. It reads:

"Peoples of MBCRCN, now is the time to liberate yourselves from the murder-pervert Schiff. Hunt him down and hand the coward over to international justice. Now is the time for you to take your freedom from those who commit murder in your name."

The Project Mayhem teams head back out to the deep sea, making their rendezvous with the transport planes that will bring them home.

To all nations who have monitored this insane conflict. While it seems the murdering PM Schiff has gone to ground and the nations in support of Free Soviets are set to pursue him in a variety of ways, I'd like to call on behalf of the people of Watfordshire, for a cessation of violent terrorist activity, and some support in supplying aid to the region. The Shiree will be sending 2 medical frigates, 10 passenger carriers plus support vessels to remain on hand to aid any further casualties or refugees within the region.
