Stone River

Last night, supporters of the Rights of Unions UN Proposal came out to the Stone River capitol, River City, to protest the governments outspoken opposition to the now-passed resolution. However, the protest did not remain peaceful for long. The mob began to vandalize local businesses and homes that showed support for the government on the resolution. When confronted by police forces, the mob taunted them, and some even began to throw Molotov Cocktails at the police. The police tried to avoid violence, but some rioters pulled handguns and began firing at the police. The police had no choice but to return fire on the mob.
Regretfully, some unarmed protesters were killed in the crossfire, as well as three police officers. The Stone River government sends its condolences to their families, and will be paying these families to show its support for their loss. President Robert Davis remains firm on his stand against the resolution, although Stone River has formally adopted in accordance with UN bylaws. Davis is quoted as saying, "It's actions like this that make me lose all respect for those who join or form unions. I do not support those who would resort to violence for their own advancement." He also stated, "I did everything in my power to try to defeat this ludricous resolution. However, we accept the will of the majority of the UN, and are currently bringing our country under compliance of this new resolution."
The streets of River City were quickly cleaned overnight, and business as usual was beginning again this morning. However, the ramifications of 'Black Monday', as it is being called, are sure to be felt for months to come.
