The Constitutional Monarchy has mobilised Naval Forces off the coast of Drachenland, after the Parliament voted unanimously to condemn Drachenland's inability to allow Political freedom within it's nation.

His Majesty, King Robert I calls upon all nations with democratic principles to support Austica in it's actions.

This blatant act of Imperialism is no better than the lack of policitcal freedoms within Drachenland. You have no right to impose whatever views you wish on another country, it's a breach of its state sovereignty.

We will be acting against your nation in this conflict. Aequatian Republic Military Forces have been placed on active status and will remain there until the immediate and unconditional surrender of Austican forces.

The Dominion of Bantz condemns the actions of the government of Austica and its attempts to impose its ideologically naive views of proper government on Drachenland.

While the Dominion of Bantz will not at this point interfere directly in the conflict, we do offer the services of our tactical planners, satellite surveillance and other non-military services to Drachenland against the naked aggression of Austica. We also extend an offer of financial aid at a rate of interest 2% below prime (as set by the National Bank of Bantz) to fund the defence of its own borders in return for liberal access to its markets so that we might ensure that continued proper functioning of Drachenland's vital economy throughout this crisis.

In the strongest possible terms, we urge Austica to withdraw its fleet from the shores of Drachenland.

His Majesty's Naval Forces are not acting in an aggresive role, nor do they intend to in the near future. Such forces are positioned for surviellance purposes, merely because we are concered by the human rights abuses of the Drachenland Province.

On behalf of His Majesty the King, I urge caution to other nations. Austican forces will not surrender - we have not committed any hostile act. As a concession, however, the fleet will move 2 miles out into International waters, and continue its monitoring from there.

Despite your assurances, we fail to see how the condemnation of a nation followed shortly thereafter by the deployment of military forces in the vincinity of that same nation can be properly characterized as anything but acts of aggression in the form of intimidation.

We again urge you to completely withdraw your forces from the vicinity of Drachenland and return them to their home waters with all reasonable haste.

Your statement that your forces are not acting in an aggressive role "in the near future" would seem to connote that you foresee at least the possibility of such aggressive actions.

Further, the Navy of the Republic will deploy a submarine squadron in the vacinity of the Austican 'fleet' to monitor its movements and activities.

A letter to the leaders of;

If you had read the comminique which was posted to the leaders of your countries, you would have noted, that His Majesty's Austican forces are presently in International Water, were they have a right to be.

Further to this, it should also be noted that the Austican Naval fleet consists only of Intelligence monitoring ships which are un-armed. The purpose of these ships is to gather needed intelligence to forward to the United Nations, in a proposal to send in inspectors to review the situation.
THe mission is therefore, not of hostile nature.

Aequatio has yesterday deployed approx. 45 armed front line battle ships to the region, under the pretext that Austican Naval forces are a threat to world security. They proclaim that they are there to restore peace. Wel, let us evaluate this. Sending 45 front line battle ships to war (thats basically what Aequatio has declared) against 4 unarmed monitoring vessels couldn't possibly be more threatening to a peaceful resolution.

Aequatio has just yesterday contributed to making the region 10 times more hostile and unstable than ever before. Further by demanding that AUstican ships, which are sailing in International waters, surrender to them, they are demonstarting their oppressive beliefs towards another nation. Austican forces are rightfully in International water, which is allowed by the United Nations law of the sea - they will remain in their present location until such time as they have concluded their intelligence gathering mission and will not surrender. Further, the Kingdom of Austica intends to call upon the UN to pass a resolution condemning Aequatio's destabilising actions.

Calling this a war is a dangerous mistake. No shots have been fired and none should be. Austica made a mistake in not specifying its forces when it announced its Naval Deployment. Other countries responded poorly after Austica cleared up its intentions. As of now, Austica is performing permissable intelligence operations. The battlefleet sent out should be reversed.

Elemets of the 29th Carrier Group and the 30th Battle Group are now at a secondary standoff position approximately 150 kilometres from the Austica Naval Vessels. Both Task Force Magnum and Dragon have moved to a primary standoff position of 45 kilometres and are armed for first strike capability.

The ships will remain on full alert should the need to strike against the Austian Naval vessels. As well as the monitoring equipment onboard the ships, Aequatian survaillance satellites will also keep watch on the intelligence vessels.

However, you asked for the support of democratic societies for your actions, which were the deployment of naval forces. It seems that once a larger, more powerful nation became involved with this affair which stood against you, any plans for action against Drachenland by your forces seemed nothing less than suicide. So you immediately changed your plans of attack into an intelligence gathering mission so as to cover your own ass.

PRESS RELEASE - THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Austica never intended invasion or hostile action - intelligence ships were deployed to monitor. It is hardly conceivable that a small nation such as Austica would launch naval strikes at a country for human rights abuses. We are not an aggressive nation, and we do not normally intend to be manipulative towards other governments, however it is a part of our nations constitution to defend people who cannot defend themselves. Drachenland's people can not defend themselves and Austica intends to bring this to the intention of the United Nations.

The only hostile or aggressive actions committed here are those of Aequatio who deployed a massive fleet. As such Austica regards Aequatio with caution. It also begs the question - what is Aequatio's interests in this issue? Do they too commit human rights abuses?

Austica proposes a stand down of Aequatian ships in the region. Austican intelligence ships can quite obviously not attack Drachenland or it's people, therefore they will remain to complete their mission. Austica proposes that such forces be withdrawn by the 2nd of December. If this does not occur, an Austican battle fleet will be sent to the region, in a defensive role. It will not attack Aequatian forces, rather it will keep close to the intelligence fleet. Further, Austica has consulted with its allies: The Holy Empire of Dezarius, The Kingdom of Dabia, The Empire of The non-setting Moon and The Free Republic of Anglovictoria, in an effort to set up a multinational battle fleet to protect the intelligence gathering mission. It should be noted that such a mission would not be offensive - It would be purely defensive of the Austican intelligence fleet, and designed to monitor the actions of the Aequatio forces.

Further to this - Austica has proposed a multinational summit on this issue. The summit will discuss the human rights abuses of Drachenland and will also discuss Aequatio's recent actions. Both Aequatio and Drachenland are invited to send representatives.

Let us all not forget that our primary mission here is peace.

I must say I am apalled at the continuation of elevation of troops and arms in the region. The Aggressors here are those who have sent military units first and refuse to pull them out. A certain power has enough ships in the area to take out the entire country of Austica in all probability. This escalation must end now. Troops must be wothdrawn now if peace is to come of this. One nation must begin withdrawl now before this gets out of hand.

Norinco Class Battlecruisers and Valiant Class Missile Cruisers carry a compliment of 800 kiloton tactical nuclear warheads for use in Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, should the need for their application to end a situation quickly arise. But other than that, it's all conventional weapons since our chemical weapon disarmament.

And we refuse to withdraw until the naval forces of Austica do so first.

Our Red Dragon carrier has nuclear weapons aboard for use by attack aircraft, as well as anti-sub nukes for deployment aboard various helicopters. These are, however, last resort options.

Your 'demands' do not concern us. Nuclear gravity bombs are standard compliment aboard our carriers, we have never used them nor would we unless the very sovereignity of the Confederacy of Monte Castello was threatened.

Due to "situational changes" in Dabia our stance on this issue has changed. Disregard all previous statements. Our new position is to condemn Austica's aggressive and imperialistic actions. We support Aequation actiosn and actions of like nations to put down the subversive military actions. We also support the outfitting of nuclear weapons in these situations. We are severing all relations with Austica as of today.

All aggressive nations, perhaps you would like to recap on what the Austican Government said:

Noter the use of the words 'considering sending'. Austica had not actually sent the forces, rather was considering options to do so, in the event that war would break out.

As a response to the deployment of nuclear weapons in the region - Austica intends to send the ARG as a defensive shield for the Intelligence Operation - Such forces are there to DEFEND. If your nations consider defence as imperialistic, then I request you consult the dictionary.

Austica also condemns Dabia for it its shabby handelling on international affairs. The Kingdom of Austica, has never considered Dabia as an agressor - rather a friend. It would seem that Dabia is taking the easy way out, by siding with larger nations. Austica will not follow the demands of these aggressors.

If the Governments of the agressors, really want to waste their money and military equipment, on watching a couple of intelligence ships, positioned in international waters, with a defensive patrol surrounding it - by all means - do so! But do not hinder our operation. We do not intend to invade or attack any nation. We are in our rights to sale our mission through international waters, and at present, no UN Law or resolution prohibits us from watching over a nation which is committing human rights abuses. For a nation such as Dabia, which claimed to care about human rights, Austica is most appauled.

The Austican mission will continue until it is concluded - this is not negotiable. On the ARG defensive shield. Austica will withdraw half of such a patrol, if the agressor nations withdraw 3/4 of their forces from the region.

All of these forces will be under the Command of Vice Admiral Lord Halliston, Earl of Mawson, who will command the overall force including the ARG. These two deployments will form one large taskgroup - indeed the largest seen of Austica, and will transit peacefully past Aequatian forces, before moving to a high level of force readiness until Aequatio withdraws all its forces.

Austica welcomes the deployment of forces by Gandolfan and asks that they join the Austican taskgroup. Austica also appeals to Elizabethshire to return her forces to the region to join the Royal Naval taskgroup.

Austica calls upon all free nations to send forces to join the taskgroup for the sake of everlasting peace. Admiral Davidson stood on the bow of the ship as it plowed through the water, he looked to starboard, the cruiser Bridgett and the frigates... to port, was the battlecruiser Triumph and the destroyers. Just then, a comms officer walked up behind him.

"Sir, orders from CentCom, we're to engage the Austican and Gandolfan ships once we reach our positions with the rest of the fleet."

"Good, set battlestations and put the ship on full alert, we'll give them hell once we can." ordered the Admiral.

"Aye Sir."

The admiral walked back to the armoured command bridge as ratings and sailors around him got to the guns and the protective covers were taken off the missile launch tubes, magazines prepared to move shells up to the main guns and defence systems were tested and diagnosed for combat.

This ship was a floating fortress and it was going to deal out some punishment.

After consulting the Prime Minister Lord Hallistan declares, "we are to engage Aequatian forces as soon as they are within range".

Three fighter jets take off from the small carrier HAMS King Robert I, and fly towards the fleet. Both launch four AGM-84 Harpoon SSM's at the flagship of the Aequatian fleet.

Seconds later, the HAMS Triumphant SSGN102 comes to launch depth and fires out a volly of 5x BGM109 Tomahawke Anti-Ship missiles at the flagship of the Aequatian fleet.

The fighters then return to base - it is now only a matter of time before the missiles either hit their target or are shot down. One thing is for shore, with 9 sea skimming anti-ship missiles flying towards the Aequatian admiral's flagship, at least some of those missiles are going to hit.

Austica has been threatened for several weeks now for sailing in international waters - a right it is assured under international law. Whilst Austican ships are in international waters, and not actively hurting or invading Drachenland, their business is their very own, and thus, other nations have no right to assert influence over them

Aequatio has claimed that the use of the word imperialism in this situation is an exaggeration - however, in light of the fact that Aequatian ships have just been ordered to engage Austican ships in International waters, this is by far a serious act of imperialistic bigotry.

Austica's intelligence has confirmed that orders were released today instructing the Aequatian fleet to "engage the Austican and Gandolfan ships once we reach our positions with the rest of the fleet". They have in effect declared war against out nation - therefore we will respond.

As Austica is a small nation, we have a relatively small fleet, and as such must work tactically with the full use of our state of the art technology to successfully engage and repel Aequatian forces. because of this, I have advised the Commander-in-chief to launch the first strikes. As I speak to youall tonight, Austican ship based aircraft and submarines, have launched a strategic conventional strike against the flagship of the Aequatian fleet. We are unsure of the success of the strike, however this should be confirmed very soon.

At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has engaged in top level talks with our allies, in an attempt to gather support. This should not be difficult. Austica is clearly in the right. We were in international waters, and are being bullied by a superpower. We cannot accept this.

I realise that our action, which have pre-empted the Aequatian fleet are bound to be contraversial, however be advised that the Government of this nation, will not hesitate to protect the lives of our sailors, even if it means making a pre-emptive strike against the Aequatian fleet. It is not as though Aequatian forces are withdrawing - rather they are preparing to attack.

It is also in the public interest to inform you all, the people fo Austica, that I have personally approved the deployment of additional forces. The size and composition of which the details I am unable to provide for security reasons.

All ships of the Gandolfan navy have been ordered to fire missiles on the ships of the Aequatian fleet.

We acknowledge the right of any nation to run its government in its own way but austica was in no way interfering with the actions of any nations as far as we could ascertain.

Alarms rang through the metal hallways of the battleship, Scharnhorst, as radar immediately picked up the incoming missiles and the prepared defence systems went to work.

Seawolf missiles shot off of the battleship, as did the missiles from the three surrounding frigates to eliminate the Harpoon and Tomahawk missiles at long range.

The slower (these are slow compaired to most missiles) moving Tomahawks were eliminated quickly by the Seawolfs, however, 8 of the Harpoon missiles made it through the missiles.

Now it was the Phalanx Mk.2 Close-In Weapon Systems, each radar-controlled twin 20mm vulcan cannon turrets faced the missiles, from the battleship and the frigates and threw up a wall of 20mm rounds, tracer fire lit up the evening sky as all but one missile was destroyed as the crew watched and braced for the enevitable hit by the missile.

The Harpoon sunk below the firing arc of the CIWS and struck the armoured belt of the ship, the Scharnhorst vibrated strongly and swayed slightly, but in the end, the strong armour of the ship had protected it against the missile.

As soon as the Austican missiles were defeated, the alarms sounded again as the Gandolfan Tomahawks were detected. Unfortunately, the frigates had to reload their Seawolf anti-missile systems, along with the Scharnhorst. The only ship with the capability to stop the missiles at long range was the Triumph. As before, the Seawolf missiles were fired and streaked off towards the Tomahawks.

The Seawolfs managed to knock out half of the enemy missiles, leaving 15 coming in towards them. Again, the Phalanx CIWS mounted on all of the ships opened up and filled the sky with 20mm rounds and tracers.

All but three are stopped by the CIWS turrets; of the three, one streaked in and hit the Guardian class destroyer DG-047 above the waterline, punching a hole on the side and leaving the ship to list badly to port. The second managed to hit the Triumph's communications array, cutting its long-range communication off from Central Command in Aequatio. The third hit the Scharnhorst's helipad, destroying two of its SH-60 Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters.

-In response to this attack, the Tours, launches sixteen F-35 strike fighters armed with Harpoon missiles and twelve armed with Sidewinders for an air superiority role. Once in range of the Gandolfan ships, each strike fighter launches its 8 Harpoon missiles at the Guided Missile Cruisers.

-TF Magnum and TF Dragon move ahead to get within range of the Austican naval ships protecting the intelligence gathering vessels to engage with missiles, and if need be, their main guns.

-The 30th Battle Group moves into a position to protect the 29th Carrier Group from aircraft and missile attacks. Once in position, the battlecruiser Ajax along with the missile cruisers Vanessa and Julie fire off a large volley of 40 Harpoon missiles towards the Austican modified Charles DeGaulle carriers entering the area of operations.

Radars aboard all of the ships detect incomming harpoon missiles. THe Modified Charles DeGualle named HAMS King Robert II, launches 4 F/A 18 Super Hornets to intercept the strike fighters. The Super Hornets all fire off 2x AIM-120 AAMRAM missiles at the strike fighters.

As the missiles approach the aircraft carrier, the ships of the fleet open up their AEGIS systems firing up to 16 SM-2 MR SAM missiles per ship at the incomming volley. The King Robert II fires off an Aster Missile. The SM2's hit and destroy up to 30 of the incomming missiles, however two remain. The destroyers engage their evolved sea sparrow missile launchers, firing a collective 12 missiles all up. The success rate is not high - 2 incomming harpoons are destroyed, the remainding eight remain inbound.

As the missiles come closer, the King Robert II, launches a monumental amount of chaff, as well as engaging its 3 starboard Phalanx CIWS's. In the end all but 2 missiles are destroyed. Both strike the King Robert II on the starboard side. Black smoke billows and demage control parties leap into action.

Fortunately the missiles did not hit the main machinery of the ship and it missed the bridge island. The ship returned to normal speed of 16 knots. In response the fleet launces a volley of 30x AGM84 Harpoon Missiles spread evenely amongst the ships of the Aequatian fleet.

The subamarines of the Austican fleet then caime to launch depth and fired off a volley of up to 12 harpoons at the Aequatian fleet

An effort conducted by the navy of Austica aimed at observing the abuses of human rights by the Drachenland's psychotic government was met with threats of force from Aequatio and its allies.

The King has declared a public holiday today as Aequatian Military forces sail out in defeat from the International waters off Drachenland.

Premier Bomfy, the humiliated Premier of Aequatio was forced today, to conceed defeat citing "internal issues and higher priority situations" as its reasons. However the Premier attempted to save face by declaring that, "We hope that for the sake of Austica that we never stand opposite each other on another issue in the international community".

Shortly after the announcement, the Attorney General of United Microstates, a close ally of Austica, declared that "the Federation of United Microstates has allowed Aequatian nationals to be freed from military custody".

The Prime Minister of Austica, Sir John Grey then announced fromt he balcony of Mawson Palace, with the King and Queen at his side that "Today we have marched to victory! As I speak to you, Aequatian forces are withdrawing from international waters off Dranchenland".

The Prime Minister also assured the international community that the mission to discover human rights abuses in Drachenland will continue - "Austica will remain committed to its struggle to maintain peace and freedom for all peoples, and will, in talks with her allies, discuss Drancheland."
