Greetings, friends. We address you today to tell you of our plights under the government of La Christiania.

Thirty-five years ago, the Christianian government sent out a small band of workingmen to colonize and habitate a new stretch of land they had discovered across the ocean. Once our fathers had settled here, they named the colonized land Western Navascuez after the city of Navascuez in La Christiania, which we have regarded as the home of all liberties granted to us under our Constitution. Now these liberties are being threatened as the government is increasingly expanding its control over its own home and our colonies. Our charter has given us the right to expel any governmental forces which we deem unfit to rule, and now we are taking this opportunity to do so.

It is with great regret that we have now made the decision to secede from the mother country, but it must be done. However, the Christianian government refuses to let go of us, and threatens to take military action against us if we do finalize our secession. We ask of all our brethren out there that you help us in our cause in any way possible

What specifically do you need?

As of now we only need diplomatic support so that we can get La Christiania to recognize our right to secede and exist as an independent nation, but military aid may be a necessity, but only if all other diplomatic attempts fail.

It would be good now to explain what our nation values and why we feel the need to break with Christiania.

1. We have been opposed to the idea of a Federal Reserve System, which would give the government an almost monopolistic control over the nation's money. We feel the need to back all our currency with gold or silver (platinum is a possibility that is being debated at the moment). We also want to give more power to individual bank branches rather than a Federal bank.

2. It has been this nation's tradition to place responsibility heavily on the individual and nowhere else. A result of this thinking is a fierce opposition to welfare, which we feel not only creates a "nanny state", but also destroys the work ethic of the individual. The Christianian government has repeatedly tried to impose welfare programs on this nation (to no avail yet) Again, we value individual responsibility, and welfare, in our opinion, is directly in opposition to this notion.

3. The Protestant ethic has been a cornerstone of our prosperity, and the Christianian government has repeatedly tried to undermine this with the imposition of welfare (see No. 2 for details)
