The Dominion of Talkos has seen many selling minesweepers or more purely offensive naval weapons, but none selling minelayers. Historically naval mines have proven the most cost effective defensive weapon system, sinking or damaging more US ships since WWII than all other hostile actions combined. Given the multiple uses of the naval minelayer; including area denial, anti-shipping, blockade, coastal defense, ambush, and others, we felt that this gap in naval warfare needed to be filled. Now, The Dominion of Talkos, having given you such popular items as the Gato, Mao, and Katze class submarines, unviels its new minelayer sale.
Alvsborg Class Cost: $200,000,000

Sea Giraffe 50HC air search
Other:
AR700 ECM
Notes: A good, cheap minelayer, lacking much in the way of defenses it is not recommended that it be used in combat. Its relatively large size and lack of sophisticated systems allows us to keep the cost down. Also can be used as a transport when not being used as a minelayer.

Notes: Ocean-capable minelayer, also used as a training ship with 70 trainees in temporary berthing in the minedeck. Smaller, faster, and better able to defend itself against threats than the Alvsborg. It is also able to go into shallower waters, this the height of modern naval technology, the investment is well worth it if the nation does not wish to commit escort forces.
