Looking for Trade..
Lietuveska

The United Socialist States of Lietuveska is searching for trade partners. Due to our current economic situation, we are in desperate need of certain items. We have plenty of food, natural gas, coal, timber, and some petroluem. However, we are short on desperately needed items such as iron, steel, uranium (strictly for nuclear power plants), and other manufactured products.
We are searching for a trade pact or a free trade agreement with nations who are also somewhat socialist or moderate that can provide us with these desperately needed items in exchange for fish, wheat, potatoes, natural gas, and coal. We are also willing to sell 5 million barrels a day of oil, but no more.
We anxiously await response from the international community.
.::Ministry of Trade and Economy::.
Hello Comrade,
Although our country isn't stritc socialist we are a bit Socialist/Communist like, we would like to go into a trade pact with you, we can supply you with the iron and steel you desire, as we are a large automotive/steel producing nation. We only need in exchange from you either Coal, Oil, or Natural Gas, we are very able to provide ourselfs with food, thank you comrade, we hope you accept our offer.

We accept the request from Hutu gladly. We ask for automotive products, steel, and iron in return for coal, oil, and natural gas. We certainly hope that a good relationship will benefit from this trade pact.

Yes, we are aware of that potato exporter. However, if you read properly, you would realize that we have plenty of potatoes, being in the baltic region. :wink:
.::Ministry of Information::.
then buy some potatoes from him.
We thank you for accepting our deal, and we shall begin a small scale shipment of goods to your country untill we can convert a few automotive companys to producing more of our cargo planes as we never were geared towards exporting goods till recently.
Grimdale has a large industrial base that can manufacture most of the items you need, and although we cannot provide you with uranium, we can provide you with all the steel, iron, and other minerals you can purchase. A direct exhange of foodstuffs for these materials would be acceptible payment.

The government of Lietuveska has agreed to sell Grimdale potatoes, wheat, and fish in exchange for buying steel and iron. We are pleased that such a trade agreement has been reached, and thank you greatly.
However, the risk of a trade deficit is approaching, and we are providing low costs for oil, at $25 a barrel, selling up to 5 million barrels a day to each country that wants our oil. We await response from the international community regarding our situation.
.::Ministry of Trade and Economy::.
The government of Grimdale accepts your offer and a merchant ship route has been set up between our two countries. The first shipment should arrive in two weeks.

To the nation of Kazakhstania,
Your lack of political freedoms is somewhat deterring, as is the whole issue surrounding couples being dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, we cannot break moral grounds in order to trade with you. Thank you for the offer however, and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

We are eager for Belarussian States to trade with us. Hopefully our military support of your nation in the issue regarding New Cardassia will somewhat influence your decision. We will offer discounts on our products in return for a uranium trade.
.::Ministry of Trade and Economy::.
The newly formed nation of The Serene Republic of Calm Down has heard your call for trade partners. While your human rights abilities are lacking, we firmly believe trade, not isolation, is the answer. Calm Down could provide some of the uranium you are seeking, in exchange, ideally, for coal and/or natural gas.
Please disregard the human rights comment from previous discussion. I have unfortunately taken part in my first international faux pas.

The United Socialist States has accepted the trade offer with Calm Down, as we see that nation as fit of receiving benefits that we offer as being a trade partner. We are immediately sending merchant ships to deliver natural gas and coal. We assume that after this shipment arrives, your shipment of uranium will arrive. :)

Due to the recent collapse in the Lietuv economy, the USSL has suspended all imports for four NS months. (December 15, 2003) Until that time, no imports will be received, though we do intend to keep exports open. In four months time, the government will resume imports, and will pay to make up for the loss of income by trade partners.
As we are deep in recession, with GDP per capita collapsing $1,500 in two weeks (days in RL), this action has been confirmed and hereby signed by President Adrian Weston of the United Socialist States of Lietuveska.

Economy makes shocking recovery!
9:49 PM CST, NOV. 28, 2003
HVITTSTED ( Nov. 28 ) -- The economy has made a shocking recovery, with huge rallies at the HXE (Hvittsted Stock Exchange), and new hope instilled in Lietuvs. Apparently the Weston Administration thought it wise to adopt a moderate position on allowing corporations to donate money to political campaigns. That sent the economy rocketing, literally, to an all-time high, at Good. This change is an extreme shock to all Lietuvs, as just a few weeks ago (days RL), the economy had sunk to an all-time low at Basket Case. According to Automagfreekian ratings, this sets our nation up for new trade oppurtunities, not to mention the shocking climb in 7 economic ratings!
The Weston Administration has proclaimed that its moderate position towards corporations has indeed helped the nation greatly, and they are looking into furthering the economy. While the Weston Administration was facing severe consequences of joining the UN several days ago, consumer confidence rallied with new policies has sent the President's approval rating from 34% to 71%, guaranteeing sure victory in the next election, to take place 10 December. The President has also mentioned that trade will be re-opened, just in time for the holiday season, where many Lietuv families buy imported goods to give gifts at Christmas.
From your only USSL online news source, Happy Holidays!
Trade has been re-opened, as this Lietuv News Agency report shows. :)
Haven Two is willing to offer bulk magnesium, pure or alloyed and anodied, for as low as $1 USD per pound. We regret to inform you, however, that there is really no commodity offered by the USSL that interestes us in return - we have excesses of most of the products available.
Lietuveska
29-11-2003, 05:45
We cannot adopt a trade policy in which imports are the only agreement.
However, we are at wonder why nations are offering such strange items to sell us. We have already defined what we want to buy. :wink:
Alloyed, anodized magnesium is much lighter than steel, more versatile, easier to shape, comparable in strength, and at the prices Haven Two is offering (a full third below market average), a viable alternative. Pure magnesium is even more versatile in its uses, especially if the hunger for basic metals happens to be military in nature.
